I really appreciated your review of the Rega Aria, since I am in need of a new phono preamplifier for a dedicated two channel system. Your review stated that the Aria was an excellent performer when driving moving magnetic cartridges; however I did not see any reference as to how it would perform with moving coils. My two channel system will be using an Audio Technica 150MLX (MM), which I have no doubt will fair well with the Aria; but I will also be using a Goldring Eroica (MC). If you have any experiential knowledge concerning the Aria's ability to drive moving coil cartridges and are willing to share it, I would be very grateful. Dear Mo! Hi!!! :-D Here's the truth: The Rega Aria is great and magical in MM mode, but cannot make the grade at all in MC mode. You have a great Goldring Eroica cartridge my friend!!! The cheapest way i would pick would be the Schiit Mani for your MM duties and the Avid Pulsus for MC duties. Plugged in to Line 1 and Line 2 on your preamplifier/integrated amplifier inputs :-D Of course the Avid Pulsus will be a superb great one-stop solution with both MM and MC but the only thing is the Pulsus has only 1 set of RCA inputs and you would need to swop the cables between using the AT150MLx and thr Eroica :-D Best regards Sir. So kind, thank you. Actually, update my turntable and passed the Grado onto my son! I went with the Music Hall MMF-7.3 with a Ortofon 2M Bronze cartridge. I'm not sure you graded that as highly as the Grado (which really is excellent). But I'm enjoying the new turntable and will consider a new cartridge if I'm not happy. So far, so good. Let me just say, that the info you provided is extremely helpful. It really got me thinking on a new/higher level about sound quality. Enjoy! Shawn.

But I can extremely confidently say, get the Mani. The Mani really outperformed the Fono MM Mk2 by light years ;-) ...do help yourself to the MP-110 and a P3 or Technics SL1200Mk3Mk3D as well. These are my strongest recommendation after having bought and tested the ATLP120, TN-300, Sony PS-HX500, ProJect Primary and Project Debut Carbon DC. Avoid the latter decks. Get the P1, or P3 if possible, or the Technics Mk3/3D. Get QUALITY that will last you for many years of HIGHLY RESPECTABLE STANDARDS OF MUSIC PLAYBACK AND APPRECIATION. Warmest Regards my friend!

Smooth, detailed, clear, very clear with microdynamics and hence nuances and shades come through effortlessly and are revealed... the whole presentation is so live and it made me listen to whole sides of my records totally with eyes closed, smiling all the time and nodding my head.... i am so happy.
