This opening scene was kind of a throwback to the past with the 1960's and 1970's cars. I like that Dom references Brian two times before and during the race against Renaldo. I was hoping that Dom was going to race with his red car, it would have been more exciting. To this day, I still wonder about when Brian taught Dom that Vacuum Line car trick. I was hoping to see a Street Racing in New York, but it turned out to be a car chase. Letty, Roman Tej, Little Nobody and Luke Hobbs chased Dom through the streets, so they were still kind of racing to stop Dom from reaching the finish line. This movie would have turned out different if Paul Walker had lived. However, I think that Brian might've been in a wheelchair, due to the injuries that he sustained in the car accident.
the irony of Brian's "poor man's turbo" is that rat engine is already running an actual turbo....
I just watched Furious 7 last night. I’m sort of binge-watching these movies so that I can catch up to Fast X. Coincidentally, you’re posting footage from The Fate of the Furious, which is the next movie I’ll be watching today before I head to work tonight.

Hmm, well Dom proved that it's not always about how fast a car is but the one behind the wheels also matters. Dom was just a second ahead of Raldo to cross the finish line else he would have lost to Raldo. The risky fact is Dom could have injured or killed Raldo if he wanted to but due to a promise he made to Brian O'Connor not to cheat, that's why he decided not to .
