    There have been lots of great recommendations for you. Just make some changes that fit best with how you want things to be. You are learning some lessons you can share with others so they don't have the same problems. Kubos are nice and are an attractive addition to the landscape, but may not be practical at this point. I'm sure you will get it figured out. I'll watch the progress with anticipation. God bless.

    I would put electric fence around the property. It will keep snakes and thieves away. For securing the roof I would also use metal mesh with very small holes so snake cant get there.
    Hollow bamboo can be sealed by concrete or use hollow blocks again sealed by concrete.
    And as a gardener I would advice you to keep plants in groups and rest make a grass. Its easier to maintain and to cut grass.

    Plant lots of tanglad, snakes hate the scent i heard.
    Strong scents: Many plants release strong scents that snakes find repulsive. These scents can mimic predator odors or simply be unpleasant to snakes. Plants like marigolds, garlic, onions, and lemongrass emit powerful odors that deter snakes from entering an area.

    Raised beds are also good as you don't have to bend over or squat so much to tend to them. Good deterrents are lemongrass, onion and garlic because they dislike strong odours, these plants have the advantage of being useful in the kitchen too. Perhaps have moveable pots of lemongrass so that you can put them near the dining area when cooking and eating outdoors.

    A house with bamboos usually a cool place for snakes. I think you should remove them and change it with plants like lemon grass or other plants that would scare snakes away. My opinion anyway. Beware of cobras they will kill human. Besides your area has lots of vacant spaces with full of grasses all over the place that's why lots of snakes rats tuko are roaming around.

    Get a Mongoose pet or two.
    More cats.
    Gravel is good as noise will alert snake to you.
    Very rare you will find snake by looking for it.
    We had some in the mountain at Biliran.
    They chop head off, but be careful it can still bite even with head off from body.
    Get a perspex curved shield and a litter picker, I got two and put in sack to move them away, but locals killed them.
    They say better safe than sorry.
    Don,t destroy garden for one snake.
    Put some movement detector lights about the garden.
    Wish you well.

    Can you get a clear picture of this “snake skin hood”? It doesn’t look like a snake shed to me. Sheds are clear without vibrant colors. I’m watching on my phone so it’s hard to see. I’m not gonna go into my credentials, but let’s just say I know snakes. 😆
    You can clean up the area so snakes won’t have a place to hide, but they can basically hide almost anywhere. Snakes are on the move a lot looking for food, so you’ll always have them slithering through. Cats are great at finding them. If you’re super paranoid…. Get a cat for the garden.

    • @AdamandJanesLifestyle
      @AdamandJanesLifestyle  4 месяца назад

      Thank you my friend. It’s a very, very fresh shed. The pattern matches a Cobra along with the color as it’s very fresh. There is shape of a hood. The second piece is the tail. It’s on 2 different days. We say the snake the next day after the first shed. I’ve owned snakes and have seen color in the shed but it fades very quickly.
      Thanks for your advice and help 😊🙏

    Looks like they are building a nest in your yard if small ones are around. One nest can have 30-40 eggs. Find them and get rid of them. First thing you should do is close your main gate by installing a solid metal sheet around your entire front gate. Then, go around the perimeter of your house and seal proof your entire house. When I saw that big lizard cone into your house I was shocked, it means you have holes in your house critters can come in including snakes. Now more snakes you have, means the big guy is coming (King Cobra) 3 meters long. They eat nothing but snakes but you dont ever want him in your yard. Here in Manila, I sealed my entire house that even ants can't come in. Haha 😂

    • @AdamandJanesLifestyle
      @AdamandJanesLifestyle  4 месяца назад

      Thank you my friend and we had that thought about the gate too. At least at the bottom part. The lizard was outside and, to our knowledge, there aren’t any ways in unless it goes up a drainpipe. They has been covered now though and there shouldn’t be any way in. King Cobras aren’t native to where we are but won’t take any chances. Have a great day 😊

Also we find that using table scraps for compost/fertilizer attracts cats. Are there any natural predators for that cobra or a plant they don't like ? I hope you get it . just don't tell anyone.

    Hi! Planning to move back to Maasin soon and the Samar Cobra (ugahipon) is one of my worries as we’re planning to live in my family property in the country. I’m thinking of raising turkey and/or peafowl mainly for that threat. Cats and geese are good against them too! I understand they are part of our whole ecosystem and that we are moving into their habitat. But the danger is just too real. I used to work in an ED that was a snakebite center so I have seen what cobra envenomation looks like. 😰

    Your surroundings are still largely grasslands, natural habitats to these creatures. Until your area is developed with more homes, you're bound to see snakes, geckos, rats more often; just be careful.

    Any possibility of getting mongoose? Natural predator or cobras, I'm not sure if they are native there or about laws for importing them.
