two of the very best they are eddie, a boilie is just a bait and the problem is they are severely over used because of their convenience, chicks and maples are different so they'll often score when boilies wont, plus i love the price of them😁 thanks mate👍
Soak the maple peas over night in water. Place in a slow cooker during the day, add bacon and you get the best meal ever. It's a local tradition in the Black Country.
Cheers for the plug Mark I'm the shop manager at Bamfords @ Midge Hall Leyland PR26 6TN anyone quoting Mark Carp I will knock 10% of a 20kg bag of maple peas. Regards Paul.
Great vide mate and I love the mug I’m a red myself was a season ticket holder in the kop for 7 years went all the home and away games travelling from Coventry went to Italy to watch us to. YNWA
thanks mate, i haven't been to a game in years, i was a regular from 76 through until 83 then an occasional visitor after that, the last game i went to was 1990 i think, i just wanted to stand one more time before they put the seats in, these days i just watch whatever comes on tv now and again, i had the chance to join the ground staff but fishing was more important👍🎣😁
@@MarkCarp I no what you mean mate it’s very expensive to and like you say we love our fishing so watching on tv on the bank to is a double bonus kills 2 birds ha ha
@@RMinkjunkie very expensive these days, i'm of the opinion they are all overpaid, the wages in football are crazy, that's one of the reasons i turned my back on it.
Nice one mark , I love fishing with alternatives and you cant beat 50p a kilo . If I can find them I will be adding them to my summers weaponry. I bet along with corn, hemp , split peas ,lentils and rice .. I dye half my rice with red food colouring so it looks like mixed maggots but I bet you could fill a 25 ltr bucket for a tenner and fish all weekend on it. Great vid mate.
thanks adrian, i haven't used tic beans but they should work, i've used black eyed beans, kidney beans and pinto beans and they all work well, i'm planning to do a few videos on beans in the future👍
Good video again, could u prep them and freeze them, or is it best to prep then use within a few days of preparing them, and would it be the same with the chic peas u did ,could u freeze them as well or just prepare them then use within a few days of cooking, thanks
hi mark, no mate I wouldn't freeze them, I freeze tiger nuts and hemp because they are hard, maples and chick peas are quite soft so they don't freeze well, best to use them within a few days👍
Hi Mark.I have just watched your videos on preparing Maple Peas, and Maize. Is it possible to use a pressure cooker to do these, if so do you still have to soak them? or can you do them straight from there raw state.
hi ray, yes you can do them in a pressure cooker, I can't say I've ever done them that way though mate, personally i'd still soak them just to be safe but i'd shorten the cooking time a bit, maples you can overcook a bit but maize splits very easily, I can't give you a set time to 'pressure cook' them, all I can say is check them every 5 minutes until you see the grains starting to split (for maize) and halve the cooking time for maples from 20 to 10 mins, squeeze one between your fingers after 10 mins, it should squash very easily, if it does they're done, if it doesn't then cook them a bit longer👍
I got mine from 'larton livery' mike, they are based at Frankby in Wirral near me, they have a website but no online shop. As they are only just over a tenner a sack and postage on 20k is around £6, it's probably best to pick them up from your nearest feed merchant mate, to buy online and have them delivered would add 50-60% to the price 😲
Totally deadly if done on the bank and used hot straight after cooking....I used to leave em in soak for a session then cook a batch and pult it out while still fairly hot the oils it kicks into the water is a real puller to carp.
i've done that in the past mate, as per the carp strikes back by hutchy👍 best i can do these days is just before i go but they are usually luke warm at best by time i get to the lake, i just do them the night before i go now for convenience, you are right though, hot maples are ace👍🎣😎
yeah I've seen that brian, I've tried a few times to buy a pack but the local tackleshop never seems to have them in, If nothing else they'll save me snipping down a piece of cork each time I lose one👍

Mark ever since watching your vlogs I have used maple peas and chickpeas for carp fishing... catch all the time, better than boilies and cheaper

maple peas are used as feed for birds like pigeons mate, that might help you track them down? 👍
cool vid. and being a pigeon fancier also, always loads of maples about. have you used tic beans?
