- When Jack (Miles Brown) tells Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross) he's not sure he needs to learn how to drive, she thinks he's kidding -- but he is dead serious. Meanwhile, Dre's (Anthony Anderson) little game of secrets ignites a fight between two very volatile people: Pops (Laurence Fishburne) and Ruby (Jenifer Lewis). From 'black-ish' season 7, episode 20, 'Snitches Get Boundaries.' Watch 'black-ish' TUESDAY 9|8c on ABC, streaming, on demand, and Hulu.
Jack became hella smart that even Diane was proud of him, and she's the one who played him the most.
For real
He learned from the best
That's because she wanted the car for herself and Jack did not want it
Why do you think he got so sharp?
Did he just get away with cursing lmao 😂
I said that to myself too also why was there no smack or a promise threat to follow behind that cause my mom would have been swift
I heard that and was like, we gonna come back to that?
About time a kid did. There’s only so much the younger generations can put up with.😂👌🏼
Yea it took me back like did he just say what I think I heard😄😄and also since when he is taller than Dianne😐
@@arkimf2145 lol seriously. That man grew between a few episodes. And even cut his hair down so his height is there. He'll be tall as Junior next
My younger sister learned to drive before me - I held out until right before I got my first job. I realized that getting my license was the first step in becoming my parents' errand boy... good on Jack!
How dare your parents ask you to pull your own weight!?!?!? I hope you called child protective services.
@@keeganac *weight
I didn't learn to drive until I had to go to college, but my grandma didn't want me to leave without my license. I wasn't going to be my parents errand girl. I saw how they treated my brother.
Lmao, ain't that the truth. When they don't wanna go anywhere they have me do it. Even when I don't feel well from my lupus they still send me. Lol. I have to return things for them etc. She'll come all the way home with very little gas and has my dad go get it for her. We are not our parents maids.
Mate if I refused to learn to drive my family would refuse to give me lift anywhere 😂
I'm "dead a**" Now if I said that to my parents, I'd be dead and in the grave.
I was looking for this comment! 😩
You have to be real black and not a TV show
Yet parents are allowed to cuss and call their kids degrading names? Hypocrites.
One time I was reading a funny text to my dad and it said “lmao”. But I read it like “laugh my ass…..” I had avoided cursing in front of my parents ever since I repeated the f word at the age of 4 in front of them. One tiny screw up and now my reputation as the good one has been abolished. My dad actually just laughed though. 😂
Exactly!!!! Why did she let that slide?
I love Ruby's character 😂 she will get you snatched up!! Haha
Speechless doesn't even begin to cover the convo with Pops and Ruby 😂😂😂
hyundai commercial. I SEE YOU HYUNDAI!!! (i absolutely LOOOOVE my Kona)
I would understand not riding in NY because we have 24/7 transportation everywhere but not wanting to drive in LA? I guess he’s fine being stuck at home… then again he’s a rich kid so it probably doesn’t matter lol
I just got my licensee after 5 years and 3 tries in ny. You do need a car in ny
You must live in upstate new york then, which I was not talking about at all. In NEW YORK CITY, our MTA buses and subway can take us anywhere within the 5 boroughs 24/7. Right now because of covid they’re closed overnight but this was the case before covid and I’m sure it’ll be the case after it.
@@pokerflush1000 I live in NYC and have barely used my driver's license. No need with mta & uber. Plus parking is a nightmare if u don't have a parking space. 😢
Exactly, you can have a car but there really is no point, is just a waste of money plus there’s barely any parking and when you find it, price goes thru the roof. No thank you.
This for any upstate new yorker. When we refer to my we're 99% talking about the city. No offense.
Laurence and Jenifer so funny.
I’m laughing at these comments pointing out Jack cursing. The show is called Black-ISH for a reason!😂And he ain’t completely lost his mind because he said it to the parent who is mixed LOL. And for the record no I have never spoken that way to my mom because I would’ve been dead and gone.⚰️Heck I’ll be 25 in 3 months and I still can’t & wouldn’t talk that way to my mother.
When she said “Negro”😂🤣😂🤣
🤣
Like only a black woman fed up could...
At least he knows you shouldn’t text and drive unless you want to kill someone. I’m proud of Jack, Who would have thought he could ever make sense. 🤪
“I’m deadass” is that really cursing? Isn’t that another way of saying I’m serious in America! Never knew it was a curse word😭
Yup that’s a curse word. We just say it so often that I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t realize it was a curse word lol
bc technically the word "ass" is a curse
It’s not, old people are triggered by being abused as kids for expressing themselves. Now they think everyone else should suffer too
Kids cursing around their parents seems weird to me, I wish I would have even thought of cursing, my mom would have been on me like a hawk. It's a respect thing for me. I try not to curse in front of my parents still and I'm 44
@Jimmi Stone meaning what?
Yeah man, I wish I was the same, unfortunately, with my parents generation, it’s really hard not to swear in front of them when they are just so absolutely frustrating. It’s hard to be perfectly respectful to people who you know are wrong soooo often but don’t listen. Sometimes the younger generations can only cope with so much nonsense.
@@danielwhyatt3278 might I ask how old are you
@Jimmi Stone why don't you just explain so Mayne I might know
@Jimmi Stone it's OK so you have nothing productive say so you do you have a blessed day
I really do hope he gets casted as a live action Miles Morales one day!
Jack's voice got deep! 😅
Pop will do anything to get Ruby of his back! 😂😂😂
I'm gonna miss this show!!!!!😂😭😭😭
Laugh till I cry love this show
Jac has the same view about driving as me hahahaha
I'm in the Atlanta area and drive as little as possible. Most stores are near me so I either take an Uber or the bus. It's less stressful and I never have to worry about driving when I'm sleepy or irritated.
Jacks smart as soon as you learn to do anything you become a chore person for you’re parents i’m to young to drive but as soon as I was old enough to start walking to school and the store by myself guess who gets sent there when we need stuff 😂
my momma stay doing this like ma! you were just outside.
I didn’t learn how to drive till I was in my 20s. I walked or ride the bus to places I go to. But then I had kids so I guess I had to and plus I hate to drive still do to this day
That is the problem with car dependent suburbs, you depend so much on cars, you can't even go walking to a store to get a snack, tho in the long term, i think it is kind of expensive to order everything, or even going to work if you are paying an Uber daily
There’s also no sidewalks in the suburbs.
Ruby and Earl together perfect👍
I can't believe it's ending at season 8😭😭😭😭. I guess Kenya saw more money in Netflix 🤦🏽♀️
Is that true? What the story on that?
Mixed ish is getting cancelled too
Not Jack cursing in front of Bow
It’s about time Lawrence went slick. He looks good.
jack has grown so much wow.
fr
Look at miles man being so inspirational man
“ I swear to god Earl!”😂😂😂
“Call an ambulance” does this kid knows the cost of a damn ambulance?
I am pretty sure it is free to call an ambulance for an emergency.
Not where I live - grandma ‘s insurance was charged when ambulance was called. We had to pay some out of pocket
Pops is looking good!
Looking "matrix" good. 😎
that Honda ad integration was seamless
Bow should have coughed up that $20
As someone who got their license later in life in places like LA where public transit sucks, you need to learn. It's also tiring cuz you become more codependent on your family and friends for giving you rides and you dont really have true freedom cuz you have to arrange your schedule more around other's time.
Lol they say they cant relate to Black-ish but the way she said "iron" is all I need to relate to
Jack is just like me. Not ready to drive because I'm sure if I'm gonna do it right
Just like me, I never learnt driving. PTSD won’t allow that
'What you got, lil loose mouthed Snitch"...getter Pops
He wouldn't have been able to park that car alone had they started them out with an older car that didn't have that feature
I think the best part of the last seasons was seeing Pops & Ruby ending up together again 🤗
Dre's Man Mane is pretty iconic
I forget this guy ain’t a child anymore 😭
“ im dead ass”
Me: omg jack said a cuss word and she didn’t smack him? 😂 lord Jesus! Where’s Ruby?!
When did jack grow up?! I haven't watched blackish since forever
I don't know what's going on with Jack. One week I'm like yes Jack, the next I'm like come on Jack... He definitely wouldn't get that $20. The car parked itself.
Only the rich could have this kind of privilege
If I said deadass to my parents… oh boy.😂
I understand there are exceptions (like if you have anxiety issues, visual impairment, etc.), but in general, driving is a basic life skill you should have, even if you don't plan to use it often. Like being able to cook yourself a meal, swim, ride a bike, change a tire.
I don’t think learning to drive is something that should be forced onto a person as driving is dangerous. Nervous drivers are some of the most likely to cause accidents. And while it’s a life skill for some, sure, that’s a pretty recent idea and many still don’t know how to drive today. Plus, public transportation makes the need for it obsolete.
Personally, i don’t drive. I’m self aware enough to know that with my distracted personality, I’m more likely to cause an accident. My parents attempted to force me but decided I was right after I almost caused four accidents while learning. I would’ve mastered it at one point but those accidents weren’t because I didn’t understand something but because I got distracted by a stray thought. It’s much better like this.
@@Melanie-jy2nw Like I said, there are exceptions. But it's definitely a useful skill to have. And not every place has great mass transit. Where I went to college, for example, buses came by once a day, and not even every day. I couldn't afford to take cabs everywhere, which meant I had to bum rides off of people to get to the bank or supermarket. Having a car would have made all the difference in allowing me to feel independent. Even here in NYC, where mass transit isn't bad, having a car still allows me to cut a two-hour trip down to half an hour. My mother is no longer able to get around on her own, and me being able to drive allows me to take her where she needs to go. Plus, there are lots of jobs that require you to drive--UPS driver, bus driver, delivery person, limo driver, movers, etc. And in case of emergency, it's good to know how to operate a car. I'm not saying driving should be forced on anyone who would be bad at it for whatever reason or who would be scared to do it. But it is an undeniably good skill to have.
@@cv8499 thank you
@@Melanie-jy2nw I know how you feel I like in like a city however i’m 22 going on 23 I don’t have my license yes I use to drive around our property as it was very large but that was it and a lot of is because I was in a car accident and it was so bad my mother almost lost her life I was going on 10 or 11 at the time but I still remember it like the back of my hand and I’m also a shy and nervous person as well I don’t do well around to many people thanks to my awkwardness. Plus the only person who can teach me is my dad but he isn’t the best person due to the fact he screams at you, which is distracting in itself. Since I life in a relatively populated city I just walk or get someone to drive me.
@@Mcherri same. From the screaming dad trying to teach me to drive to living in a city that allows me to walk everywhere lmao I’m really sorry about your car accident and I hope your mother is doing better now.
I know that car from anywhere 😂 best car i've seen so far
Which one is it ?
Looks like a creta
Call an ambulance? At those prices?
With the mom being a doctor, insurance pays it
I actually laugh alot😂😂
"I'm Dead Ass" ???😂😂🤔
Dre's beard😍😍😍
Jack has the best eyebrows
That Hyundai really do that?😳😳 My how they have come a long way.
Driving is lifeskill though
Bow thicker then a snickers
Younger brother problem one min you r older and taller few mins later he his so tall Diane and Jack
Clearly they’re promoting for Hyundai.
If I have children they’ll learn how to drive
Hyundai commercial at it's best
Could’ve simply said that all those other alternatives would have made not having a license more expensive.
Parents get to curse at kids so y’all please don’t be up in arms about things 😂 Parents want to be able to do anything without consequences cause they “Pay Bills” like ma’am sit down.
Respect is earned not given lol
he remembered the name of his middle school crossing guard....suspicious
This is so funny 😂 😂 😂 ..
I think Jack is my favourite of all the members of the family, then Ruby!
The kids went from private school to public school education real quick. I do believe in Hyundai and that plug. Nice.
They still go to private school. Only Jr went to public school.
My comment had nothing to do with their institution of learning, dirt bag.
Did Bow not know that car could park on its own? She looked surprised.
It’s so sad that this conversation never considers public transportation.
Damn jack became smart
I was in the same boat as Jack too bout not waiting to drive up to now I still dnt have a license I get nervous but I wasn’t into getting 1 when I was 16 nd still now at 37 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
I never plan on driving but mine is more of a mental fear after both my parents managed to "hit" kids. Both children were fine but still.
I loved that lol
What episode is this ??
When did Jack get taller then diane?
I'm also shocked, he used to be tiny 😳
it's called pUbErTy
Not drinking or driving, teens increasingly put off traditional markers of adulthood.
According to an evolutionary-psychology theory that a person’s “life strategy” slows down or speeds up depending on the person’s surroundings, exposure to a “harsh and unpredictable” environment leads to faster development, while a more resource-rich and secure environment has the opposite effect.
In the first scenario, “you’d have a lot of kids and be in survival mode, start having kids young, expect your kids will have kids young, and expect that there will be more diseases and fewer resources.
A century ago, when life expectancy was lower and college education less prevalent, “the goal back then was survival, not violin lessons by 5.
In that model, a teenage boy might be thinking more seriously about marriage, and driving a car and working for pay would be important for “establishing mate value based on procurement of resources.
But the United States is shifting more toward the slower model, and the change is apparent across the socioeconomic spectrum. “Even in families whose parents didn’t have a college education . . . families are smaller, and the idea that children need to be carefully nurtured has really sunk in.”
In LA, but in other places....
Here’s a couple things Bow should’ve said: Jack wouldn’t be a burden to his friends in regards to asking for rides, and some jobs require you to have a driver’s license or they’re outside the radius for public transportation.
smart product placement
Which episode is this?
I love Ruby 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
How did he program the car to park in the garage like that, especially when he gets terrible grades in school?
It’s this type of nonsense that’s makes people born in the late 90s want to call themselves millennials 🤦♀️
@Jessica Smith your right
@Jessica Smith 1996
Driving is a skill you need then you should talk to New Yorkers since 90% of them don’t have licenses
My mom would've just said. I said you have to park it. Not the car park it's self
Yeah count me in I have a fear of this to
Im dead ass 😂
I just thought this was a car commercial acting like a tv show🤔
Kids just cursing in front of they parents?? They definitely black-ish because a real black mama would slapped him into a new dimension!
if it's so easy for him to pay for ubers and ubereats, why does he need $20
same jack, same .
New Season Coming Up?
I’m 22 going on 23 and still don’t have my license mainly because I was in a massive car accident it was so bad my mother broke her back in 7 places I still get flashes of it when I think about it was just horrible.
Only way to get through to him would have been to ask what does he do when a cute girl from his class wants a ride?
What season and episode is this please?
s7 ep20
@@eld8690 thanks much
Them: driving is a privilege
Me: have u seen the cost of automobile insurance for young men? #mindblowing
I was forced to learn when I was 18 😭
I wanted to learn at 16 but my dad said it was dangerous and I could kill myself and others which is true but now I’m 18 got my permit and just starting to get the hang of driving I think waiting a while is not bad cause your more mentally prepared at least I am now versus back then
