I personally am excited to watch the Gators this year. I don't think the average coach potato fan realizes just how far back the Gator program had become, both infrastructure and talent wise they were. Building takes time. Go Gators! 🐊🏈

As A Miami fan ill say this I think because they actually have a pretty good Qb in Mertz they can do better than people wanna actually admit and i think they could actually have alot better season than people think
Yea but what worries me is that I think that’ll all be neutralized because we play such good QB’s basically every week. Beck for UGA, Ewers for Texas, Dart for Ole Miss, Nico for TN, Nussmeier for LSU, Weigman for A&M, DJ for FSU, KJ for UCF, and I’m sure Ward for pan out nicely for y’all.
@@Elite-ZTwe had a lot of inexperienced guys on defense last year, over this off season we’ve acquired a ton of experience through the portal both in the line and in the back field, if you think about it, it wasn’t really our offenses fault it was basically all on the defense last year, we’d stay in games but could never get enough stops to really gain separation on the scoreboard
@@Litfilmz Yea ik but I still think the rooms the other teams have with just be better. Of course I’m hoping I am dead wrong but I guess we’ll see. We need to make the most of our home games this year if we want any chance at a decent season.

As a Florida fan I’m keeping my optimism on a very short leash. I’m not going to hype myself up for what we all know could be a very long and painful season. If we win 7-8 games, remain competitive all season long, see big improvements on the offensive line and defense I’ll have much more optimism in the coming years. For now, I’m just going to hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
With our schedule, we could be a much better team than last year and still go 5-7.

I've been saying this for years now. If the Defense was at least average, we would have won many more games. In fact, the poor performance from the defense is what kept our offense off the field and lowered their numbers. If the defense has truly improved, watch out! If you're going to judge Napier, wait until 2025 when he's loaded and has his complete team on the field. Of course, you can still keep playing musical coaches which lowers the talent and regresses the team overall but if that's what the big boys at the top want, we're doomed before we start. Don't be surprised if we go to Jacksonville at 7-0.
You are correct about the defense, and that is why keeping the man-child DC will doom the Gators again...This is the NIL/Transfer era. Napier has this year to right the ship. He has done ok with recruiting and tanked in the portal. NIL ...the jury is still out.

The Gators were 4 or 5 plays away from being a 10 win team last year. They are close. They just need to get over that hump. And they never quit. The team was always fighting down to the last second of every game, ready to run through a brick wall for Napier. So, they're close. They could be a surprise this season.

A bunch of new QBs in either a new system or first time in the SEC starting i like the odds
as a realistic florida fan, i see 6-6 as a real possibility, win your bowl game and your 7-6 with the hardest schedule in ‘24. make your seat a little colder and smash this 2025 class and realistically can do even better in 2025. I think the first 5 or 6 games are realistic matchups for us, winning at tennessee im a little cautious with because billy hasnt shown me much on the road. but those 5 vs Um, samford, a&m, miss state and ucf are going to be competitive but we can win those games for sure, kentucky at home is a win if billy does the things he has to do correctly, correct. those next 4 are brutal. im betting for the other team if i was a betting man. then win at florida state which is very possible, and you have a 6-6 record. win the bowl game and we have a positive record and progress to booster in recruiting, and as a fanbase.
No one really knows the outcome for this 2024 season so why don't everyone stop giving UF wins and losses and they haven't played one game yet. Every team is beatable so let's just be supportive fans and just see how the games turn out once the season is in. There's no guarantee they will lose every game during the second half of the season and definitely no guarantee they'll win every game during the first half of the season.

Vol fan here and I think people are underestimating the amount of talent in Gainesville. Offensively they are loaded if offensive line can hold up they will win at least 8 games

Idk why JD pumps so much sunshine for UF. 7-5 is if everything goes right. I think its more likely they lose the 5 big ones and pick up a pair of L’s against Kentucky and TAMU. Hell i wouldn’t be so confident about the Miami game or even the UCF game. To me its just as likely they go 2-10 as they go 7-5.

The roster wasn’t that bad when he got there. 2022 they were top 10 via 247 sports talent composite. Can’t really use that one.
4th quarter against FSU in 2023 gives me hope for Napier. Gators were still playing hard till that hat trick TD, but that was still enough to screw over FSU.

I didn't see anything in the spring game that would tell me the defense is better. What is dire for Florida. I would say if they win less than 5 games that would be dire. 5-7 is probably where they end up. If Billy gets to 6-6 and they win a bowl game they need to keep him one more year. If not they need ro let him go.

I don't think Florida is a good football team. Florida will be competitive. Florida has pieces like Graham Mertz, Eugene Wilson, and DJ Lagway might be good. Florida could be better than what their record might indicate because their schedule is brutal.

Mike Novell has to deal with the charred remains of the jimbo dynasty along with the bare cupboards of the taggert era. That was all before COVID hit us and ended his season and recruiting early his first year. All this to say, we still beat Miami that year, and that Florida has ZERO excuses for their mediocrity. FSU has done more, with less and that’s a fact

FSU is also in a weak ass conference so there is no comparison into what coach took over.

I am not sold on Mertz. 60% of his completion's last season was at or behind the line of scrimmage. If he can't complete the ball down the field at least 60% of the time it's another 5-7 year.
