"I did not, I repeat: I did not, sleep with that intern... In fact... I was UP! ALL! NIGHT!!!!"
Classic!
@@imkerrusin I think the set up is even better than the punchline.
"As we all know the current favorite pastime in the oral office is swallow the leader..."
Triple H being the guy going "I hope we don't get fired." Is great. Lol
You have to remember at that point, HHH was the one who was taking the "punishment" for the Clique Curtain Call incident. So he probably had to keep his nose clean for a while.
Imagine getting away with bouncing a piece of paper off Vince's head an telling him what you're not going to do. Shawn had balls back in the day
8 balls, yes indeed
@@larkan511 😂😂😂
Balls of heroin, yes
HBK also had Vinces balls in his mouth too.
The power of knowing your worth. What you bring to the table can dictate how much you can control.
I almost crashed my car laughing at 6 or 7 boys aged probably 11-13 who were standing off of one street crotch chopping every car that went by. Attitude era made a fan of me.
lmao. I would laugh my ass off too.
That's what got me to stop crotch chopping cars ... dude almost hit me laughing.
Jk.
I found the part particularly interesting where HHH talks about Vince suspecting that Shawn would self-destruct if he let him go. From what i've seen, a lot of people always wondered how Shawn was able to get away with all the stuff he did in the 90s.
I'm actually surprised Shawn actually didn't self-destruct as a result of his actions. I've read some stories, and as far as I was concerned, that would lead him straight into nothingness.
For all his faults, Vince is a very loyal and in his own way very caring individual. The stories of him with Undertaker and Shawn shun a different light on him.
@@ziro696 Also Andrew the giant and yokazuna he really loved them there’s a video of him crying talking about yokazuna
Honestly, lots of wrestlers are pretty messed up individuals. Heck of a job to wrangle all these guys
@@donWWE31108 he did the VO for the RAW opening package when Yoko died, you could actually hear grief and love in his voice. I remember being “woah, that’s really Vince and not Mr. McMahon.”
Shawn throwing a crumpled script at Vince’s head is such a boss move. 😂
So Vince is not the only one with grapefruits between his legs..
“Undertaker, you might be 16 & O at Wrestlemania, BUT I AM MR. WRESTLEMANIA!” This tells you everything what Shawn was capable of and how good he was.
I wasn't buying that story as soon as he said it. It may have happened but if so in a joking way. No way does Shawn Michaels do that in a way to say FU and McMahon just take it.
@@josheisert8380 haha you’re just one of those people who will always hate Shawn and Hunter no matter what. Yes they were wrong behind the scenes. But hate them for that. Not for what they did for the business in the ring. Plus, you really can’t believe that story? That’s a perfect Shawn moment and Vince always took his side no matter what. And if you’re not down with that, well, Shawn and Hunter got two words for ya. And you already know what they are.
@@adeelthegame lol I named my oldest son Hunter because he was my favorite wrestler. You could not have been farther off on this one LMAO. How in the blue hell did you not only just assume I hated HHH and Shawn from what I said but somehow thought you knew I did. Yikes.
Im waiting on HHH to come out with a book, he would have some amazing stories
In these times?

Everyone on here who is like HuRr DuRr WhY iS tHiS sHiT hErE. Triple H is a metal head. All the metal you heard in wrestling is mostly because of him.
Exactly plus he was friends with Lemmy from Motorhead if he ain't allowed here it's not a metal channel as he's part of it
So true... As a kid I've always consider The Game theme as the most badass wrestling theme song ever. That's how I love it, even if no one influenced me beforehand to anything metal or heavy. So yeah, in my case it was Paul and his theme that really introduced me first to the genre.
Undertaker Says "Then Why The Fuck Did You Click On The Video Dumbass?"
@@terrorazeingI've always thought Higher Brain Pattern/My Time was WAY better than the Motorhead theme.
If you listen to the Motorhead song it's just Higher Brain Pattern only with more distortion.
Jim is the one true superstar of the WWF Attitude era and deserves to be in ENTERTAINMENT Hall of Fame, not just the WWe Hall of Fame.
@@ComaAlpha If you think it's a better overall song then cool. I've seen a lot of fans who also has the same sentiments. But Paul Levesque and I certainly have the same taste in music coz when Motörhead inserted metal into My Time, the badassery level was amped up to the fullest. It also has that distinct sound that sounds like it's become a "final boss" kind of theme.
*The Game v1 by the Chris Warren Band was also badass. Too bad HHH didn't use it regularly.
LMFAOOO shawn throwin a balled up paper at vince then walking away has me in tears lmfaooo
There is no attitude era without DX
And if you're not down with that we go two words for ya.....
Russo. Before Russo HHH was just a midcard guy who couldnt get over and biggest highlight was jobbing to Ultimate Warrior in 5 seconds and Alex Wright in WCW. Attitude era came when Vince gave Russo n Ferrera more creative control and gave the attitude era memorable storylines. Vince had the final say but ratings were highest when the creative team was limited to Vince and a few guys. Bret going heel and Austin rising is what lifted the attitude era tbh. DX is very important
AUSTIN
XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
@@Niggleblade1986
DX, Russo, Austin
Man I would love a full blown multi-episode documentary about all these behind the scenes stories. Things were mad on stage back in the day, can't imagine how mad they were behind it...
Fights, Set ups, back stabs and someone shitting into The Rock’s bag 🤷🏼♂️ that’s how mad it was. Maturity was very low back then, on a high school backyard level
Shawn throwing that screwed up bit of paper at vinces head is the most shawn michaels thing you will ever hear 😂
Nope. Not as much as when he was bending over for Vince in his office on the daily
We need a tv show of young triple h with young Shawn making life miserable for Vince lol
they wouldn't be able to get it past the sensors unless they edit out all the truth.
Its honestly crazy to see him like this.Absolute legend.
Time to play The Game!!!!!!!
Time to take steriods
He’s only a legend because he booked himself to be one. He wasn’t at the Rock’s, Austin’s, Hart’s, Hall’s, or even Nash’s level in the ring.
He was a decent promo, and he could work with just about anyone, but he had more talented people around him to make him look better than what he was.
He knows the business. He understands how things are supposed to work. That’s why when he was running NXT it was the superior product to RAW and SmackDown. He didn’t have Kevin Dunn breathing down his neck to change all the good stuff like they do on the two main shows.
He’d make a great booker if ever given the shot to do it again, but after his heart attack I highly doubt he’ll be working full time on the shows.
@@dr.floridamanphd He was sucha damn good heel. Showed alot of heart in the ring through out his career.
@@dr.floridamanphd He was always entertaining though.
He wasn’t Rock or Austin, but he was a good foil for the biggest stars. He was a great worker, believable promo’s, could play a badass but was also great at comedy.
He’s also smarter than most others, he’s set for life with a good job.
Not the best but only a notch below that.
He did that raspy badass voice for so long, he’s stuck on it.
It's called steroids
It's a combination of excessive steroid, alcohol, and possibly other drug abuse in his younger days. Combined with decades of putting on a raspy voice in promos, sometimes yelling and screaming, has damaged his vocal chords beyond repair. There's a reason singers do vocal training to not destroy their voices over time, and they still have the same problems.
Also I somehow doubt HHH did any vocal training or exercises, that would have been viewed as pretty "gay" back then I'd imagine.
@@VitZ9 HHH is against alcohol consumption for himself, and he also got a much more deeper voice after RVD fell on his windpipe in the Chamber from Survivor Series 2002.
@@VitZ9 Wow almost literally everything you wrote is factually inaccurate besides the steroids part even then that's just a given.
@@VitZ9 Wow you really don't know what are you talking about. Triple H never drank, hence why he was the designated driver for the Kliq. Think before you speak.
God im so glad to have been at the perfect age to see that era live. ITS STILL REAL TO ME DAMNIT!!
I want more of this interview. This is great.
it's Loudwire Wikipedia fact or fiction
Why don’t you look it up in the search bar than clown 🤡
I hear ya! The best pro wrestlers can hold a audience in the palm of their hand no matter what they are doing!!
Wow, throwing a piece of paper at Vince? That is pure ' I'm untouchable ' mind set right there. Haha 🤣
God bless HBK and HHH
In retrospect, it's AMAZING how far Triple H got in his career with all these obstacles, that included his FRIENDS. 😅
The phone call between Vince and Hunter after Starrcast is honestly kinda legendary...would make a great movie scene
Marrying the boss ' daughter doesn't hurt
Getting hooked up with Stephanie probably helped a little.
Vince was the one who wanted to set up Stephanie with Hunter😂 Like he didn’t full on say that but he definitely encouraged it. Shane was the one who wasn’t too fond of it
HBK living up to his potential
THIS! THIS is the shit we Old Schoolers all Love! DX, Attitude Era 4 Life!
goes to show what attitude era was like back in the day, can believe what austin said n all back then everyone wanted to be at the top and fight to get to the top but now its like im orite with being shown on tv
@matthewella8280 I don't agree with all of what Austin says, but I do agree that there is a lack of accountability on the wrestlers to put themselves over. Vince will give guys the chance to catch on with fans, but THEY have to be the ones to do the hard work in selling their character to the fans.
Anyone else need a drink of water after listening to Triple H talk?
no
I've heard a couple of stories from the older guys saying how Triple H early on was just a hanger on, and laugh how now he is the one that is charge. It's interesting to hear Triple H speaking for the same voice of not being the big shot.
Triple H is listening to his “ My Time” theme song in his head.
Yo jimmy hit me with some of that Triple H shii
Austin character was actual HBK backstage
So was Austin
Always enjoy HHH ‘s stories , it’s like he puts his guard down and is real chill .
Man...back when I regularly watched the WWF/WWE, (when I was a kid I watched regularly when I thought that Rowdy Roddy Piper and Hulk Hogan were the two coolest dudes on earth !!! (Mr. Perfect too)...when I was a grown, man watching it...when the Rock and Stone Cold and HHH were the big dudes in the group, (and I thought it was awesome)...I'm now (2024) coming to start to figure, that I need to start watching this shit again...The Rock is probably why I restarted my interest in the brand - he was amazing in the late 1990's!
God damn that is a classic wrestler voice right there
What an awesome storyteller Paul is.
Triple H is an awesome story teller
DX were one of my favourite Tag Teams especially when they were cutting promos whoever they were feuding with
What's funny is they weren't even really a tag team. The only tag team match I really remember is the one where Shawn cut the promo before the match saying "damnit, I'm a singles competitor and I don't want to tag and yada yada yada" and then they destroy Taker and Foley.
After that match is when they were seen on television together more and more and Shawn kept calling them The Kliq (the famous Bret Hart degenerates promo hadn't happened yet). Shawn was a main event player already, but Hunter was just the curtain jerker that was cutting promos with Shawn.
The main DX tag teams I remember were Pac and Hunter and Pac and Dogg.
It wasn't until many many many moons and a company name change later that Shawn and Hunter became a more permanent tag team.
HHH knows why Shawn Michaels could bounce a piece of paper off Vince’s dome. He was Vince’s “boy toy”, ever body node it.
What a story. HHH is amazing.
Shawn Michaels got balls of steel
D-GENERATION X 🤘🏻
🙅♂️
there’s a great DX episode of the monday night war on peacock about this exact thing
God, that is such a good docuseries. And narrated by Keith David 😍
I Remember that promo Shawn saying “I did not sleep with that young intern I was up all night”
Shawn was trippin 😂😂 bro threw the paper at Vince's forehead, im dying picturing that
What a time it was
Michaels (and Flair) was a bleeder. He would cut himself so bad and just be covered in flood. Also top tier blade work. Dude sliced himself in mid air while flying into the wall of the cage. Blink and you miss it quickness
I LOVE this story so much!
I wonder what Vince's eyes look like when he's in a good mood - since he's pretty much always mad, we have no idea.
I imagine he has 3 looks. Mad. Livid. And turned on.
"geez i hope we don't get fired"🤣🤣

Daaaamn i had no idea about the "behind the scenes" fallout of DX. OMG.....i would watch RAW religiously because of DX! 😅😂🤣
They should go back to non-scripted shows! -Sincerely, Every wrestling fan
The show were always scripted, it was the promos that wern't. Yes I agree the unscripted promos were way better and really allowed the wrestlers character and charisma to shine though. Nowadays any numpty can read from an autocue. Its sterile and bland
just watch AEW if you don't like scripted promos from WWE. The reason MJF and Punk are killing it in AEW is because they don't have to read off a script.
100% agree!!!
I like to believe that the best matches and promos in wrestling happen when the athletes involved are given the result of the match or point of the promo and then left to take it from there and create the desired result themselves. Some will sink and some will swim but all have to get in the water to find out.
Lol have you seen WWE lately? They are horrendous at cutting promos 😂. And they seem so robotic while doing it
The balls on Shawn for some of the shit he did and got away with, but I mean, he and Vince had a special relationship, plus Shawn was just ratings gold. So the more that you let him do what he did best, the better it went, usually lol.
You didn't write it before you ain't writing it now , fair play to shawn 👏
@2:41 I remember this promo. I thought they were just trying to seem controversial. I had no idea they were being told not to say those very things. This is great stuff.

That's the most Vince thing ever. Let them do what they want until it becomes good, then try to take it over.
Vince kept Sean to keep him out of trouble? I call absolute bullshit on that. He was his cash cow and he made sure it stayed that way.
Shawn Michaels is the living embodiment of the "that's why no one will remember your name" meme.
Wahohooo! Lord Tripsicus has really rattled the barn and gumbled the gullywits of Lord Vincent of the McMahonian Empire!
Ppl tend to shrink hhh down to being vinces son in law. But they forget he is great himself
Yeah I mean look at Shane he didn't get a shortcut and that's Vince's son I'm highly doubting Triple H got a shortcut for marrying Vince's daughter
Its all about the game. And how you play it.

Vince : DX sent me a rooster!?!?
Shawn definitely had balls! I can understand why he did what he did though because sometimes you gotta let the boss know what you’re willing too do and where the line is drawn so you’re not stepped all over.
Shawn wrestled for the territories. the territories guys are a different generation, they woulld never agree to get scripted.
This is one of the two most logical explanations for why Vince put up with Shawn, that I've ever heard. I think we all know the other one.
which is?
@@TheArsenalMan125 I preface this by saying that I am in no way substantiating it, but it’s one I’ve heard since the late 90s. That Shawn was getting fucked by Vince.

0:55(ish) - i really admire the Dynamic Change, here...most of the time when i see or hear HHH nowadays, like in most of this video, i get the Final Product of over 30 years of work-- he talks like a Boss, like he's in Control, like even down to 'when he takes a breath' has a Reason behind it...but for that one phrase ("...i was just the guy next to him sayin 'gee i hope we dont get fired!'...") i caught a glimpse of that Work-In-Progress, that little rascal Hunter, who commandeered a jeep to "attack" WCW...
...im talking less about "oh, he can Still be a goofy dork", im just saying that the Overall Shift into this 'man who Used To be a goofy dork' is respectable...it shows that all of that 'degenerate' behavior was actually somewhat-calculated-- he wasnt Just pissing off Vince, he knew that "Vince Pissed Off" is what Fans want to see...its Order from Anarchy, Chaos Controlled, an Organized Mess...and now He's the one calling the shots, taking the throne that he overthrew...
"Formats? We Don't Need Any Stinking Formats!" Shawn Chucks A Piece Of Paper At Vince.
Liked to know what promo H was talking about that he did to Vince
I tell everybody that I can... Your goal in life is to be valuable to someone. Be valuable to someone important or be valuable to as many people as possible. Just be valuable.
I dont even like pro wrestling but im a fan of triple H
Shawn was a different human being back then bro 😂
We need script writing in that format again! Just the whole atmosphere middle fingers to eachother as like it was in the old raw days
too many snowflakes around for that to happen today.
Shawn still took it in the B. 0:23
They honestly need to return the past directive: “you’re going to cut a promo about x, y and z…..you decide how” so much better back then. You can tell how obvious it is they’re learning lines from a pre-written script and it’s painful
Time to play The Game!!!!! Wrestlers 🤼
🎮🎮🎮
Shawn was the man
If you watch the Shawn Michael's DVD he even explains it to where every single time they try to do a promo at work of any kind sean Michael's did something that they thought would be very funny and it cost him $10,000 in finds and they had to rework it because the network was mad it wasn't working in the beginning as far dx was concerned
🔥🔥🔥🔥
So triple H choose the side with the most leverage. No one can say he isn't consistent lol
smart moves look at his life now!
What can I say he is a good businessman? And if I am running a businessman, I'd rather have Paul (Hunter) at the helm because he has love for the business and at least he knows what needs to be done. I did hate Triple H for burying people during the 2002-2005 (nightmare) run, but having said that, if there is anyone good enough to run WWE after Mcmahon, it is Triple H. Maybe he will fail initially, but he will learn and eventually turn things around. Mad respect to his work culture and this is coming from a former-Rock (NOT Dwayne Johnson, but the character he played) who despised HHH both for his onscreen and offscreen shenanigans.
I got in trouble in the 3rd grade for crotch chopping lol not at anyone but just doing it
as ive stated before on a different video but it bares repeating ,,,,REMEMBER WHEN WWE RAW WAS MUST SEE T.V. ....
Vince seems so fascinating. I'd love to meet that guy.
I miss the fucking unscripted. GOD BRING THE REAL SHIT BACK!! I remember going around saying JUST SUCK IT!
Guys like Taker, Austin, & HBK who lived their gimmicks is partly what made Attitude Era so believable. Nowadays, a guy will only act tough, but kiss Vinces ass backstage. It's all politics.
Not anymore Vince's long gone so no one can kiss his ass
Black and Gold NXT let's me know this is an interview from a better days. It was so good until Vince got his hands on it 😭
Black and gold NXT was getting meh towards the end. Least they are now making more stars for the main roster instead of the same rinse and repeat indie guy with no personality
I miss unscripted so much, I genuinely can't stand listening to WWE promos anymore if they're not from specific wrestlers such as Cody Rhodes
If Cody Rhodes had half the energy that Randy Orton had at cutting promos he’d be good.
