Hats off to you and your crew,Sir ! You have a bunch of hard-earned skills, and a tremendous amount of nerve to do all of these seemingly impossible climbs and maneuvers! Keep up the great work, you've got a really cool hobby Sir. Best wishes to you, crew, friends and family 🌞.
Funny you should mention that, I just filmed a few of them the other day that I'll have up on my channel soon. I do a full walk around and talk about the specs of some of the rigs I wheel with
Yea not only has it had it for a few years but he built it 100% from scratch in his own shop by his own design, there is not another rig exactly like this in the world. How many Honda CR-V motors do you usually see on the trail?! I'll do a build breakdown video next time I'm out in the woods with John and he can explain all the cool out of the box things he did!
No transfercase needed as its a transaxle design with built in gear reduction. So he turns the engine sideways and runs the front and rear driveshafts off each flange. Saves him about $3000 on not needing an Atlas, but also limits him to like 50km/hr on the way to the trailhead.
@@PathmakerProductions would different diff gears in transaxle help with higher top speed? i dont need 100+ mph one, but 50 or so for driving on open road would be nice :)
@@ApocGuy yessir, he has ran tried a transmission with an overdrive in it, which gives him a higher topspeed but then limits his low range. We rarely travel all that far to the trail so he prefers to go lower gears and lower top speed instead of the latter!
@@PathmakerProductions tnx for clarification. is that open diff or welded? was thinking "permanently" locked diff in transaxle with 1:1 ratio with transmission speed and no reduction. i know it would suck in crawling, but i have lots of open areas where i can get it up to speed . would love to buy me a proper 4x4 setup, but even cheapest one goes for 1500+ €€ where i live.
He's a bit of a secretive builder so I didnt have much filming while it was going on. He since sold it to a guy on the East Coast thats been wheeling the hell out of it at all the WeRock and TrailHero events!
PathmakerProductions Awesome I sent you guys a message on your Facebook page I left my number if you have time to give me a buzz sometime had a couple questions about the drivetrain set up
Its a 1.8L out of a '91 Acura. Ultra lightweight with a lot of visibility and flex means it works really well. BFG Reds work best on the rocks when they're bald like that. They start to struggle if its a bit muddy or saucy tho!
This is the real "trabas"
I agree I would love to see a breakdown of this rig.
I waited too long! Its been sold to a guy 2000miles away! He's still wheeling it hard tho, I'll have to bug him to make a video for everyone!
@@PathmakerProductions ya that be cool there's just not alot out there on those transverse rigs

Cheers! Thanks for the comment!
Probably less money than a RZR and a whole lot better. Plus, VTec Yo!!
Hell yea, bout half the cost of a RZR and a million times more capable!
That’s some REAL rock crawling!
Oh you know it!!
Would really really love to see some build break downs of all these dudes rigs. Love the channel.

I dig this lil buggy and looks like dude has had it for a while 👍🤘👍

smooth.
The J-Man is always buttery smooth, thats his thing!
This is awesome! Is there a transfer case or does having the gearbox sideways give enough gearing?

@@PathmakerProductions you just answered my question. 50 km an hour is not enough speed where I live in FL. Thank you love the builds

Got any build videos of this ?

Is this buggy something that you guys built?
All the rigs were built by us, we're way too cheap to buy rigs from other people!

What axles are yall running?
Those are fancy aftermarket housings but running Toyota axle internals. With a buggy so small and light the Toyota axles hold up fine!
So what honda engine? Civic or something? It does incredibly well considering how wore those tire are!

@@PathmakerProductions I got a b18b1 turbo I been building. Did you just run the motor side ways and run shafts to diffs
Its not my rig so I don't know all the details. I know the motor runs front to back and the driveshafts come off the transaxles.
WoW!!
