Finally, Finally......someone does a realistic evaluation of the Traxxas Drag Slash and comparison to the Losi Drag car. I own both and appreciate the benefits of both. You can build am equivalent car for the price of a RTR, that is built correctly. That and your build time is worth something as well.

Glad you're going to your first race and hope you enjoy it. Its a great hobby and while the up front cost can sting a little, you can slowly upgrade overtime as skills improve and you get faster. There are usually a lot of children at these events and it is very family friendly.
So still leaning towards the losi gotcha like i said im a beginner at no prep and i want something to start with and get better with over time to be able to actually compete

Some other good points with the slash are parts availability and compatibility. Usually very easy to get parts for traxxas models and since they all seem to share parts, parts are compatible. If you break an arm on your drag slash, you can rip one off of your bandit and it'll work.
Yes but who would break it. Street rcs are not really profitable for companies because you will never break it. Unless you lose control at 100mph slam into a curb yeah. Almost every speed runner had their rc totaled and had to rebuild it after a lose of control at 100mph+. The part availability is still number 1 but not like few years back. Brands have beens slowly catching up to the demand

To expensive. Why do so many people buy traxxas..? I don't get it. Most models need expensive upgrades as so on. Had years ago savage flux, friend bought e-revo. 3 runs and it was broken. Had my savage for several years, just had to do maintanace (and servo), thats it... Now have most arrma, new electronics, and same thing. Some new bearings, servo, diffs after a long time, thats it ... No traxxas for me, a lot of money for a bunch of plastic with a fast motor...
As an rtr, the Traxass is expensive, but it does work real good right out of the box, it felt smooth, there was way less suspension slop, and it hooked up better than the DR10. I like the DR10, it's more tunable, and will work with it..and yes, electronics suck. I have not tried the Losi, when one pops up, I'll grab it.
If I could find a 2wd slash with OBA and or VXL I’d build a mean drag car , I just can’t find one ! At least would be sweet to get my hands on a remote and the OBA unit oh I would use a 87 grand national body

Try the losi electronics in the other rc's see what's got the better time with it. Losi system in slash then dr10 to see how is got a better time. With your best drag rtr system the losi 6400kv motor. You got the losi best time with the stock system now try that system on the other rc's. See what's got the best time with one esc and motor combo from the losi.
got the bandit on ebay with up grades. add rims, tires, and body im still less then 350. i say its up to the buyer, but for 500 i dont think so. just shop a round.

I get it the Losi I spent 400.00 but then spent 50.00 on shocks 20.00 on fluids and 5.00 on a pinion not far off the traxxas now 💯💯but there is always used chassis out there for a conversion 👍👍

I personally like to tweak my platform with hop-ups. So, I consider that into the equation as to which platform has the most hop-ups available? My DR10 has been transformed into a fine drag machine due to all of the available add ons. I just ordered a Losi Drag Car from my local Hobby Shop and it should be here in a couple of days. I plan on keeping the Losi Stock that way I can enter two cars in races.
Maybe I'm not real smart 🧠, but how on earth would turning Reverse off prevent one from spinning out in the end?? who slams in to reverse while going 60mph??
Have you seen the Mammouth Works RC project? It's not quite there yet but it has potential! A motor in each wheel is a cool ideal. If it was Holmes Hobbies motors, it may be a lot better.🤔😁😎

Yes mine will never go that low specially with my shock change they need bump stops in the factory shocks like traxxas did but a little fuel tubing fixed it 😲👍👍💯💯

Traxxas doesnt remplace the esc. Traxxas doesnt exchange ur electronics for money... they want you to send them ur electronics and get you half retail on the remplacement. I never heard anyone getting money by their escs. Horizonhobby always gave me anything that wasnt my fault. Like bent wheel after a few runs, stock bearing seized and killed a diff. They saved me like 400$ so far. Traxxas gave me rustler driveshaft and a set of wheels as a courtesy and it ended like that. They didnt want to remplace my electronics. Only covered for a month after purshase they said. I think every customer gets a courtesy as their first issue with traxxas.

Its just inadequate for the trucks they are on. 3500kv is wayyyyy too high and with that 3mm shaft. Everyone almost moved to 5mm shafts on 3s motors

I think there is no way you’ll go wrong at $199.00 some places have it for 170.00 this week at local hobby shops but I’d jump on one for sure

I got the losi 3days ago.. hands down I love right out the box 3s bust the senton v3 Azzz.. I was beating my bro by 25ft
So, personally, I have a slash. Ill probably build a front end and rear end and do up a body and switch out when I want to drag. All with one car.

I got 11 slashed in pieces fir 180.00 three had electronics and worked I feel that advised but most new ppl won’t shop and build this way 💯💯💯

They are basically the exact same thing. The only difference is that the felony has bigger rear wheels.
