McDermott is a winner and a good character man, but it’s frustrating to lose in the same fashion to the same team again. The Bills need to try hard to get the #1 seed going forward. I would love to move passed the "it's about more than football" "puts thing in perspective" talk. That stuff goes without saying and Sean is a good dude. We really just need the focus to be on winning football games that matter and putting that as THE priority. Sometimes I wonder if this team/coach is just satisfied with being close and being competitive and playing the right way.
The third and fourth and short philosophy has to be every such play has to gain three yards or more . . . not just the 1 or 1 and half yards. Make the defense you are facing have to play multiple potential plays, not just the tush push that finally got figured out by KC in the most critical game of the playoffs.

Just because you have some late round finds doesn’t excuse the miserable misses like Elam etc in the very important early , talent loaded early rounds. Just think if you did hit on those misses , AND got success in late rounds. KC manages it and their first round draft pick via buffalos regime actually helped end our season , while our pick Coleman, did 0 in the playoffs and doesn’t even look like an eventual starter. This is poor roster management, poor drafting compared to your highest adversary. It’s a Recess , right , according to this coach. Yet the process is not moving forward. Beane is suspect in my mind , attention to holding coordinators responsible week to week is not being done. We are continually being outcoached in many phases in playoff time. 8 years is not chance , it’s a deficiency . In my career oof 40 years as a dr, you are not forgiven for repeat mistakes , you are subject to having your license and livelihood taken as it should be. You have to have and are subject to accountability. 4 years losing to the exact same team shows no learning or accountability. It’s like missing the early signs of colon cancer in 4 patients over 4 years. It’s that basic competence you must have. Look , football is not like life or death as medicine can be. But then it’s easy to argue it’s simpler and should be an easier process to button up obvious deficits. Just saying , this same old stuff like smiley will learn is keeping the status quo and afraid to challenge yourself to keep improving. This is exactly the same speech , same way we were kicked from the playoffs for 4 years. Mcd is a good HC, leader , but he is not insightful or visionary enough to realize he can’t just be loyal to his assistants when the results don’t bare out that course of complacency.
