This is a prerendered cinematic, not game footage so of course it looks great compared to modern games, just look at Final Fantasy: Spirits Within, that looked amazing back in 2001 Talent isn't universal, the people working on games today are more interested in politics than actual game development, they likely don't have skills. Good example is Rock Steady, completely different team working on the games now so they're nowhere near as high quality as the Batman games by any measure.
Different team worked on the game than marketing, probably actually scanned the live model for this trailer, used some 'in house' rendered mesh for the game. Same thing with Cyberpunk, the game characters look nowhere near as good as the trailers/e3 presentation.

The emotional grasp this trailer makes to viewers is astounding. The scenario usually wouldn't happen to anybody, but considering how realistic Lara and the scenario are, you can't help but feel for Lara. This trailer alone makes me want the game.
The reboot 2013 game is so awesome! Plus the music they used in trailer (and in game) is amazing. It's still a huge mystery to me of why they didn't bring this composer back for sequel (new guy wasn't very good imo).
It could have been a symbol of her finding the bravery and courage to get out of the boat her self, and start her long journey of becoming the Lara Croft we all know today. Or, it could have been Roth before he jumped to the over side of the ship?
Beat the game for the first time with 95% completion... SO CLOSE. If only I wasn't rushed so I could beat it in time before spring break ended. Great game Crystal... I'm glad I decided to beat Tomb Raider this spring break instead of ACIII. Cannot wait to see what else happens. :D

I wish you could have played the multiplayer offline against bots but I guess that was just too much. I had this game for my XBOX ONE and I loved the singleplayer experience but I never tried the multiplayer, because I didn't have a XBOX Live Gold account. I could have gotten some multiplayer achievements.
One of the best games ever made. Only real downside is a missing new game plus. All the upgrades for pretty much nothing and the game collects dust, until you play it again. Still love it.

I have the entire collection of the Tomb Raider series, i have been playing for 15 years but every new game that comes out makes my heart beat like the first time in 1996 with Tomb Raider 1

I hope that they allow the developers the proper time to fully realize the vision; I think the Underworld crew got cheated a little just to make the holiday sales rush.

Three months late mate but the reason they changed her character model was because many games were using mocap and they wanted to do it too, but since Lara Croft was created from scratch and the model she's based off of I'm pretty sure doesn't act they used her voice actress for mocap changing her entire appearance. To be honest I would've prefered they just kept Lara like in the cinematic but ah well.
Who cares about how she looks like. We all still play TR1 just cause of the puzzle solving and addictive gameplay. The fact that you have to find your way out of the room and solve that darned puzzle using the environment is what makes such games replay-able. Either way all of us who commented are gonna download the demo and play the game when it comes. xd

@Taospark Thats the idea. I've been following it very closely and the main point is realism and her survival and becoming the hardened tomb raider she is. This is were she learns that her instincts make her Tomb Raider.
Finaly a Tomb Raider with all the espected aspects of a Adventurer game. The E3 gameplay demo looks awesome, and brings to me the need to play this game :)
I know Jason Graves is the composer for this game, but the soundtrack' samples are a little bit similar to the scores composed by Harry Gregson-Williams, Patrick Doyle and Steve Jablonsky. This is just an observation, not a criticism, because I like this.

This trailer definately had Square's usual CGI flair to it. It was awesome as hell. Hopefully, Square-Enix will do the series highly deserved justice and give us a Lara Croft we've rarely seen. If this trailer showed us something, it's that Lara is back, and this time, she's even more bad ass than before.
