Stand there & watch? A few players have even claimed the jackass hit Jonathan with the stick after stealing it, Terry O'Reilly for one. Do some research about the incident before judging 🙄
Blake Comeau's pass to Nathan MacKinnon against the Jets was the most embarrassing moment in Avalanche history. That was the moment the team truly hit the rock bottom
Modern Avs history absolutely but losing to the Wings in 02 up 3-2 will forever be embarrassing. Or the 04 Avs who had Selane and Kayria, Sakic, Foresburg, Hejduk, and Tanguay and still couldn’t make it past the 2nd round and Steve Moore got his career ending in the worst way possible. Avs gave up 10 goals to the Canadians, and handeled Duchenes toxicity horribly
For Philly, the game last season where the Wells Fargo Center looked like a Rangers home game was beyond embarrassing. It was so bad that they finally fired Chuck Fletcher.
I thought for sure this was made before this year...since no one in their right mind wouldn't've chosen my boys most embarrassing moment as last years epic choke in the first round of the playoffs after the season they had last year. Hell, though I wouldn't agree because of why it happened, I would've picked when the Bruins players went into the stands at MSG in '79 over this choice. 🤷♀️
realest embarrassment in hockey is when the Leafs went and made a whole documentary about how they completely screwed up a 3-1 lead against the Habs. I mean, its so fucking hilarious to watch that thing. "And, its over."
In the Oilers section you at one point show a picture of Jason Smith (Oilers defenseman in the late 90s and 00s) rather than Steve Smith (Oilers defenseman in the 80s and early 90s).
for Vegas, i personally wouldve went for the game 7 when they hurt Pavelski that gave the sharks the long play that let SJ come all the back and Goodrow won it in OT. that one L losing like that was the real embarrassment for Vegas. for chicago, i wouldve taken the kyle beach case with the sexual assault case and for Arizona, how they knowingly took a guy that was known to have mentally bullied a kid for years yet the yotes still took him
the blackhawks front office covering up sexual assault accusations in a reaction of fearful of locker room chemistry being jeopardized seems way more embarrassing than kane and his cousin beating up a cabbie
They wrote a letter of recommendation like nothing ever happened and buried beach in the minors hell he did play a single regular season or playoff game. And ofc were too concerned an locker room chemistry so sounds like a coverup to me @MisterCaution
Im a Pens fan and know the team’s history very well To add on to the Pete story, after Pete died, they took him to a taxidermist. After getting Pete stuffed, they put him on display in the lobby at the Civic Arena and he was stolen, never to been seen again , and 50+ years later, he has still never been found.
Nope...Some idiotic Rangers fan hits Stan Jonathan with a rolled up program, drawing blood, & then steals his stick (& some players have said he hit him with the stick too) & you think it's embarrassing that his fellow teammates went into the stands after him? Wow! smh 🙄
For the Vegas one, I would have chosen the playoff series against the San Jose Sharks. They had led the series 3-1, but they let the Sharks tie the series up. They also could have easily won game 7 with a 3-0 lead in the third quarter, but they committed a penalty to Joe Pavelski that results in a 5 minute power play. The Sharks score 4 goals to take the lead. Vegas ties the game up near the end of regulation, but then give up the game winning goal to San Jose and the series win as well.
I seem to recall another embarrassing moment for the Devils that took place last season, I think. They were playing Toronto and that game saw three different Devil goals rejected for different violations.
Lightnight fan/Tampa resident here. The thing about that embarrassing Lightning playoff sweep. It sucked. It was embarrassing. But thankful it happened. Because ya know, we learned from that and then went to win two consecutive cups. Almost a 3rd.
The Wild’s most embarrassing moment is when they played in the Western Conference Finals in the 2003 playoffs, they only scored one goal in those four losses. They were outscored 9-1 to the Mighty Ducks and got swept.
Is the person who made this video even a hockey fan? The picture of the Oilers player at 10:06 is Jason Smith not Steve Smith lol. Before you say its easy to mix the two up, it's not. The two played some 20 years apart from each other.
Speaking of embarrassing moments, if you are going to talk about the Edmonton Oilers and Steve Smith #5, then perhaps you should not pair that with a picture of Jason Smith #21....
Alright, coming from a Blackhawks fan , I can say that Kane punching a cab driver isn’t even close to being the embarrassing moment in our history. We all know what happened during that first cup run and that was really bad, that should not be happening and it shouldn’t be allowed. (No kidding) The fact that Quenneville got away with it is just as bad.
Funny that you uploaded this video less than a day ago, and the Kraken have been playing well since, apparently, you recorded their segment. i agree that it was pretty bad, but this season is doing better than this video would imply.
I think Torontos loss against Ayers is more embarrasing than their collapse against the Bruins tbh. Matches getting completely turned around in the 3rd period happens now and again, but an NHL team losing to a zamboni driver is something we will never see again
For Columbus it’s gotta be the 2005 draft. Were 1 of 3 teams with the highest odds for 1st overall Crosby. Instead, they fell all the way to 6th overall. On top of that, all the CBJ scouts told their GM to take Anze Kopitar, he said no and took Gilbert Brule, who was then rushed and ruined.
I think the most embarrassing moment for the Oilers was losing to the Kings in the playoffs after being up 5-0. I still don't believe any lead less than 6 goals is safe. Even then, I'm not confident until the game is over.
To be fair; that cab driver seemed like kind of a jerk. (Sarcasm implied) Also, if you think that was more embarrassing than the Kyle Beech situation, you might be insane.
It was Kane’s cousin that punched the cab driver. Because the cabbie locked them in the car for not having exact change. I’m with the Kanes on this one. That cab driver needs to carry change. And the Kyle beach story was likely consenting homosexual sex. But you can’t criticize the gayKK. So the team took the hit and it ruined careers and their image.
For the Rangers, I'm sure there are way more embarrassing moments than having to trade Leetch. It was sad to see him be traded, but it was what needed to be done at the time. The Rangers were at the end of a pretty bad era (97-04), so the trades needed to happen. Plus, one of those trades that spring brought us Jaromir Jagr, who would go on to break the Rangers single season scoring record the next season.
As an Avalanche fan I'd make the argument that there's way more embarrassing things that happened to us than Game 6 & 7 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals since at least Detroit was just as much of if not more of a contender than the Avs that season. Literally the year after, we blew a 3-1 series lead in the first round to a third year Minnesota Wild team and lost in OT in Game 7 in Denver. There's others like our original mascot Howler beating up an opposing fan, Patrick Roy's tenure as coach, the 2016-17 season in general and even this year losing to the second year Seattle Kraken in the first round in 7 despite going in as defending cup champions and holding the #1 seed in the Central that i'd argue were more embarrassing overall
Fellow Avs fan here, and whoa Nelly that's a lot to unpack. That statue of liberty was embarrassing, but ya Detroit was good those years. The 3-1 series lead to the wild? They weren't scrubs man, brunette was a brute! Plus St. Pat was getting old and we just weren't as deep anymore. The Kraken series sucked, so did the loss to the blues and sharks before we went on deep runs. Roy's tenure as coach was great, especially the first year when he should have won the Jack Adam's. The most embarrassing for my money was just all of 2016-17, the year everyone beat us like a rented mule
@@99Stams I'm glad we can at least agree with a couple of the ones mentioned here either way like 2016-17 and the Kraken series (that series was just frustrating to watch even if it did go to 7). Idk I guess when watching the video I had that thought of "I swear there's gotta be something more embarrassing than that series" and those were just some that popped into my head (I misremembered the Roy thing for sure so my apologies for that comment, I was a bit younger at the time when he was coach so I thought he got fired or something or that he was partially there for the 22 win season)
Yeahhhh 2014 doesn’t really count was a fluke year team wasn’t really ready; stasny was planning to leave, duchene saw mackinnon as a replacement for 1c, several issues there.
Maple Leaf Gardens sex scandal is easily the most embarrassing thing the Leafs organization was ever involved in - kids were literally abused in the players dressing room.
Plenty to choose from with Boston 🍿 - Bruins blowing 3-0 series lead to Philadelphia in 2010 - The Joe Thornton trade - Jack Edwards on commentary - First round loss to 8th seeded Florida after record breaking season in 2022 As for Toronto no disagreements, but The Harold Ballard era gets a dishonorable mention For NYI yeah that's the starting point, but The Mad Mike era takes the cake. He traded away a dynasty team (Rick DiPietro also gets a shout-out) For Vancouver the Mark Messier era left a bad taste in their mouths Flyers record breaking losing streak should get a dishonorable mention (I think that was the same season they also used 8 goalies which is also a record)
@@munkustrap2 Ok you got me. USED to be a Leafs fan. Past tense. Everything I stated about the Bruins is factual. Where's the lie? Can't handle the truth? Get out of here lol
With Anaheim, it was more embarrassing losing a string of Game 7 home games during the Bruce Boudreau era. I was at one of them as an LA fan watching the Kings just school them. Ducks fans didn't even stay to salute Teemu Selanne's last game. Speaking of L.A. That was just part of a bigger embarrassment story caused by Bruce McNall's criminal activities coming to light, the team being forced to trade away key star players, and ultimately putting the team into bankruptcy. Gretzky most likely would ave remained and retired as a King if Bruce was still around (and able to pay for players he needed) ... in fact he refused have his number retired by the Kings until McNall was free from prison and could attend the ceremony,
I agree the Hoffman situation was terrible but I don’t think I would say it was the most embarrassing moment for the senators, the main players weren’t part of the team and it reflected on the players not the team. I think the 2018 Uber incident where multiple senators players were recorded in an Uber mocking coaches and joking about the state of the team was more embarrassing for the team.
Philly has a good one that the STL Police basicaly covered for them, Jody Hull, Rod Brind Amour and some other teammates were at a club called Kennedy's ad Hull was acting like a big shot, well the team mates started a brawl and got their asses kicked, yet a couple of cops were involved and they cleaned it up, yet there were a bunch of us who seen it and were amazed at the cover up due to the brawl and how bad Hull got his ass kicked.
Another Philly one is during a game against the Capitals I believe, and the fans prior to the game had received bracelets. They were in honor of Ed Snider, who passed away days before that game. The fans then decided to throw the bracelets onto the ice during the game, delaying the game enough so that both Wayne Simmonds and Alex Ovechkin were pleading with the fans to stop it. That's, to me, really embarrassing, but not surprising. They are Philadelphians after all.
Really...the pens just get the live mascot story? (More sad than embarassing) Not the 42-game winless streak at the Spectrum; from 1974, through February 2, 1989? The final 2 games of last year to the leagues professional bottom feeders to miss the playoffs? The Stadium series 2018 choke? The Saint Patrick's day of 2019 choke? The Montreal 2020 choke? The bankruptcies?
Schneider trade for Horvat, what a bad trade for both teams. Vancouver could have gotten more, and NJ was a bad team, they should have been picking 1st or 2nd, but he won them 15-20 games per year by himself. Only when he was finally injured for a long time did they get to fix the team. What a dumb trade for NJ.
That poor penguin in Pittsburgh-they could have just dressed him up and paraded around the ice. LA Kings-I’d nominate the fellow who had the illegally curved stick in the Stanley Cup finals.
Came here to mention Chicago, but enough people already covered that. Instead I’ll talk about Pittsburgh. If it was embarrassing for the Coyotes to file for bankruptcy once, why not the Penguins who have done it twice?
The most embarrassing moments for Pittsburgh was when they almost relocated twice because their bandwagon fan base never cares about hockey unless they have generational talent. And Crosby diving, whining to the refs and the cheap shots he’s gotten away with 3/4 quarters of his career too.
Alright, in defense of hacky sack, there's nothing embarrassing about playing hacky sack. Injuring yourself while playing hacky sack sucks, yes, but I wouldn't call it embarrassing.
I have to agree. So hacky sack isn't everyone's idea of fun, including myself. It doesn't mean it's embarrassing to like it, nor to get injured doing it.
Since you missed Vancouver Canucks, Ill offer two choices since I cant decide which is more embarrassing. 1. Those fucking ghastly Hallowe'en uniforms. 2. Pulling off the genius move of the century in stealing Pavel Bure as a draft choice, and then not even having the GM or coach go to Los Angeles to welcome him when he landed there. They left him there for some time until he made his own way to Vancouver. Although now that I think about it, there have been many other teams with uniforms equally as revolting, so I guess Ill go with the Bure situation.
Of course for the Oilers it had to be 1986 Keep in mind the Oilers had over half a period to tie the game (or even take the lead) This was a high powered Oilers team that scored goals almost at will.
Kane assaulting a cab driver isn't even in the top 10 for the shithawks. Bedard shouldn't even be on their team if they had been appropriately published for what is actually the most embarrassing moment in the history of their franchise. It's really pathetic how the hockey world/media haven't done what they can to at least make sure no one ever forgets the fact that they protected a sexual predator and directly allowed for him to commit at least one additional assault, that we know of.
Chicago had a coach that was accused of sexually assaulting 2 players. That seems like a more disgusting/embarrassing thing than Kane's.
I can only guess that it's still quite a touchy matter, so he went for the lesser terrible thing for Chicago.

- Bruins blowing 3-0 series lead to Philadelphia in 2010
- Lucic hit on Miller
- 2 goals in 17 seconds - 2013 finals
- Marchand's licking and other controversial antics
- Joe Thornton trade
- Boston being on pace for Presidents Trophy in 2020 but ending up the fourth seed because of the special playoff format and them losing all their round robin games
- 2023 playoff choke
- Jack Edwards calling Pat Maroon fat
- ... Jack Edwards
Can you name any more for Boston?
all those racist tweets trending after the Subban OT winner
The brawl in the stands in the 70s or 80s. The players were fighting with fans. I think Mike Milbury was involved.
Tbf pat maroon is pretty fat, especially compared to jack edwards who is damn near an actual dwarf… lets call a spade a spade here lol
@@davismavis2834 Geez 🙄...First it was '79. Second...yes, Milbury was involved (he was the one with the shoe). And third...what did you expect players to do when some moronic twit of a Rangers fan assaulted Stan Jonathan with a rolled up program, hitting him in the head (drawing blood I might add) & then stole his stick? Stand there & watch? A few players have even claimed the jackass hit Jonathan with the stick after stealing it, Terry O'Reilly for one. Do some research about the incident before judging 🙄
Bro that was not Luc Robitaille 😂
Can't give you hockey creds when you use a stock picture of Jason (Gator) Smith instead of Steve Smith. Sorry.
For Philly, the game last season where the Wells Fargo Center looked like a Rangers home game was beyond embarrassing. It was so bad that they finally fired Chuck Fletcher.
Mark Scheifele slamming Jake Evans into the board gratuitously after Evans scored an empty netter , getting suspended and losing the playoffs.
Dereck stepan for Dallas where he missed the open net to lose the game?
realest embarrassment in hockey is when the Leafs went and made a whole documentary about how they completely screwed up a 3-1 lead against the Habs. I mean, its so fucking hilarious to watch that thing. "And, its over."
In the Oilers section you at one point show a picture of Jason Smith (Oilers defenseman in the late 90s and 00s) rather than Steve Smith (Oilers defenseman in the 80s and early 90s).
came here to say the same thing. Really frustrated me
for Vegas, i personally wouldve went for the game 7 when they hurt Pavelski that gave the sharks the long play that let SJ come all the back and Goodrow won it in OT. that one L losing like that was the real embarrassment for Vegas.
for chicago, i wouldve taken the kyle beach case with the sexual assault case
and for Arizona, how they knowingly took a guy that was known to have mentally bullied a kid for years yet the yotes still took him
the blackhawks front office covering up sexual assault accusations in a reaction of fearful of locker room chemistry being jeopardized seems way more embarrassing than kane and his cousin beating up a cabbie
They wrote a letter of recommendation like nothing ever happened and buried beach in the minors hell he did play a single regular season or playoff game. And ofc were too concerned an locker room chemistry so sounds like a coverup to me @MisterCaution
Im a Pens fan and know the team’s history very well
To add on to the Pete story, after Pete died, they took him to a taxidermist. After getting Pete stuffed, they put him on display in the lobby at the Civic Arena and he was stolen, never to been seen again , and 50+ years later, he has still never been found.
as a blues fan, i hate the coach for how he handled Gretzky
The Islanders were almost bought by a con man? The Blackhawks, pretty sure they had another more embarrassing moment.
Yeah having Kyle Davidson in the front office & actually allowing him to speak!!!
Why was there a Jason Smith pic in the Steve Smith self goal?
Most embarrassing for the Bruins is the Milbury shoe incident imo
Vegas ties the game up near the end of regulation, but then give up the game winning goal to San Jose and the series win as well.
as a vegas fan that is it for me for sure, i can see his choice with MAF but clearing cap lead to a cup at least
Was there a reason you showed a pic of Jacob Vrana when you said Luc Robitaille? just a mistake or is there a joke I'm missing? just curious.
I seem to recall another embarrassing moment for the Devils that took place last season, I think. They were playing Toronto and that game saw three different Devil goals rejected for different violations.
Huge flames fan, one of the few games I've been to was the Wideman incident, so glad to be a part of "history" 😭
Patrick Kane was then warned by the public to stay out of Buffalo.
We know he beat that cabby up.
As you see, he stayed away. 😂
Another embarrassing moment for the Flames was when a streaker tried to streak, but he fell down, got sent to the hospital and arrested.
Dude where is Vancouver there is no vancouver
10:07 this is not Steve Smith 😑 it’s Jason Smith
Please Dallas I just want to see a cup
I think Torontos loss against Ayers is more embarrasing than their collapse against the Bruins tbh. Matches getting completely turned around in the 3rd period happens now and again, but an NHL team losing to a zamboni driver is something we will never see again
Could have done a little more research on this…
Torts was suspended 15 day, not games. He only missed 6 games during that stretch.. definitely not subscribing to this ill-informed channel..
It's hilarious that the recently dead Arizona Coyotes Franchise gets two mentions, while the Atlanta/Winnipeg 2.0 get none.
LOL why did you show a picture of jason smith for the oilers?
To be fair; that cab driver seemed like kind of a jerk. (Sarcasm implied)
Also, if you think that was more embarrassing than the Kyle Beech situation, you might be insane.
Ahhh yes. The game where we scored 3 goals against Cory, even tho we were supposed to be defending that net. Good times.
The most embarrassing moment for Tampa is walking off the ice when no whistle was blown and got and getting scored on
By far the most embarrassing thing for islanders was John Spano
Coming from a die-hard Leafs I think blowing a 3-1 series lead to the Montreal Canadiens was worse than 2013
na na na the Flyers one is undoubtedly the Ed Snyder wristband incident.
As a flyers fan, I could have thought of 100 way more embarrassing things than just having a shitty season 😂😂. Mr.Universe!
Maple Leaf Gardens sex scandal is easily the most embarrassing thing the Leafs organization was ever involved in - kids were literally abused in the players dressing room.
Plenty to choose from with Boston 🍿
- Bruins blowing 3-0 series lead to Philadelphia in 2010
- The Joe Thornton trade
- Jack Edwards on commentary
- First round loss to 8th seeded Florida after record breaking season in 2022
As for Toronto no disagreements, but The Harold Ballard era gets a dishonorable mention
For NYI yeah that's the starting point, but The Mad Mike era takes the cake. He traded away a dynasty team (Rick DiPietro also gets a shout-out)
For Vancouver the Mark Messier era left a bad taste in their mouths
Flyers record breaking losing streak should get a dishonorable mention (I think that was the same season they also used 8 goalies which is also a record)
hater in its purest form. bruins are contenders love it or hate it little guy
Tell me you hate Boston without telling me. Bet you're a Toronto fan 😂
@@munkustrap2 Ok you got me. USED to be a Leafs fan. Past tense. Everything I stated about the Bruins is factual. Where's the lie? Can't handle the truth? Get out of here lol
Vancouver has left the chat
Brad Aldrich of the Chicago Blackhawks assaulted players. That’s WAY worse than Kane being Kane,
The Sharks collapse still hurts
"He was charged with allegedly assaulting?" Are you even trying?
I think Arizonas most embarrassing moment was the team relocating to Salt Lake City
Minnesota is by far our WCF performance.
Really...the pens just get the live mascot story? (More sad than embarassing)
Not the 42-game winless streak at the Spectrum; from 1974, through February 2, 1989?
Patrick and James shouldn’t have beaten up that cab driver. Sure, cabbies do have a bad reputation but that doesn’t mean they deserve to be assaulted
If it wasn't for the Blue Jackets blowing out the Lightning in round 1, the back-to-back champs may not have existed. Thanks Columbus!
Came here to mention Chicago, but enough people already covered that. Instead I’ll talk about Pittsburgh. If it was embarrassing for the Coyotes to file for bankruptcy once, why not the Penguins who have done it twice?
No North Stars? That might be the most embarrassing moment of this video!
The brooks orpik in the background is the best
Kane is loved by many so that story basically doesn’t mean anything anymore cause you don’t see anyone hating him
Since you missed Vancouver Canucks, Ill offer two choices since I cant decide which is more embarrassing.
Of course for the Oilers it had to be 1986
Keep in mind the Oilers had over half a period to tie the game (or even take the lead)
This was a high powered Oilers team that scored goals almost at will.
Sooo basically the last 20 years. Nothing to do with the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s… :/
The Coyotes’ small arena is temporary
Kane assaulting a cab driver isn't even in the top 10 for the shithawks. Bedard shouldn't even be on their team if they had been appropriately published for what is actually the most embarrassing moment in the history of their franchise. It's really pathetic how the hockey world/media haven't done what they can to at least make sure no one ever forgets the fact that they protected a sexual predator and directly allowed for him to commit at least one additional assault, that we know of.
Minnesota’s most embarrassing moment was retiring number 1 for their fans when the city already lost their previous franchise
Benn is a piece of work
Wideman thing should have been the last time he was seen on the ice. Disgrace.
