    Cold Steel is like an alcoholic in denial when it comes to their pocket clips. They just refuse to admit they have a problem.

    Looks like a great edc knife for heavier tasks. I'm actually impressed on how well cold steel does their heat treatment on all their steels and the fit and finish seems to have improved alot. Keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.

    Hi Pete. Lol, the music selected was very Cold Steel, so too the very scientifc trash can test 😆.
    I have carried this knife for 2 years now. I carry it to satisy my need to larp as a gas station tactical ninja.
    WHAT I LIKED
    * Slimline profile
    * Tri-ad locking mechanism
    WHAT I DISLIKE
    * The pocket clips need to be sent to a burning🔥rubbish tip
    * I'm not too fussed on the steel
    * The handle is uncomfortable to use for an extended period of time
    I agree with you that it's a decent EDC knife. Its not like you'd carve a wooden spoon with it.
    Now that we've had more time to judge the GSM take-over I think it's been overly negative. From what I can gather people haven't been happy about 3 things, namely:
    * The increased used of cheaper steels
    * Warranty issues, &
    * Online customer service
    Personally, I also don't like "Stickman". He just rubs me the wrong way.

There's so much broscience surrounding knife sharpening, possibly the worst signal-to-noise ratio of any topic I've ever encountered on the internet. People sharpened their knives on rocks for thousands of years! It doesn't have to be that complicated!

    Hey Pete. I was wondering if you could perform a twisted sisal cut test using the same Knife at different grits e.g. how does cutting feel and how many cuts can it do after the 50 grit beast, XXC 100 grit etc. all the way up to the lapping film finishes you often employ. I've been seeing a bunch of discussions recently with one side swearing by sub-micron mirror finishes while the other swears by 300 grit and says anything higher results in a less durable edge. I would be highly curious to see if your test reveals a point of diminishing returns! Cheers and keep up the great content!

    Great vid!! My air lite.....thought this would be my knife of knives and I do like most all of this cold steel, however. Yeah the clip is massive but no hot spot for me and I don’t care about the looks really. The one true knock I have with this is the AUS10, I have many knives that I obsessively keep sharp and it just seems that I cant get the air lite as sharp as I get my others including the D2 blades. If they changed the blade steel I might buy another, even so I do carry this and do like it.

      @lindboknifeandtool 3 года назад

      Since CTS-XHP’s carbides are primarily plain chromium carbides, you can use anything and still see good edge longevity. S35VN is a little different because of the vanadium carbide. To see good edge longevity with S35VN, use diamond/CBN/silicon carbide. If I were you, I’d go with the work sharp guided sharpening system (the diamond bench stone) or king waterstones.
