He owns nothing. He leases a farm, IIRU.
Private property is different to personal property. To use homes as a simple example personal property is your own home, private property is if you owned another home and profited simply from owning it and renting it out to people who need it. When you hear 'the sin of property' in this song, its condemning private, not personal property.
