Thank you Norm for visiting my new Tokyo apartment!! Had a lot of fun filming 😆
@@sherryberryjp haha thanks for letting me poke around your closet and fridge!! and WELCOME TO TOKYO!
@@TokyoLens I’d live there, if I was Sherry’s size.
Talk about an amazing apartment, Sherry really did an amazing job setting everything up! It's compact and yet fully functional!
p.s.: I can only watch in 480p, I can't make out the brand or model for the rice cooker from the video!
@@sherryberryjp I miss you guys doing content together 🥰
Seeing it empty to furnished in one video was extremely gratifying.
It’s so much fun to watch how Sherry made such a lovely well-organized and functioned home from the empty apartment! Wishing her all the best for her new life in Tokyo🥰Thank you for sharing this Norm!
Hello With Me Japan San
Very kind of you to leave such nice words for sherry too
Thank you as always for watching

5:46 that galvanised steel reference looool
I figured if an average of 350 people were going to make the comment per vid anyway, I might as well do it too hahaha
😁
Cant forget about getting the screws from your aunt
am I missing some lore here? Any references to the origin of that?
@@sokrates297 it's a meme that's popular with kids these days.
$600 in the MIDDLE of the most popular city?? YES!!! Although I would have to get rid of over half of my stuff.
600/month ?
@@herychandraa Of course.
I pay $1400 in rural Canada. I would rather pay a little more and live on the outskirts of Tokyo
trust me
you don't want to live on the outskirts
While tokyo might seem crowded during the daytime, everyone goes home to the "outskirts" at night meaning
a) the outskirts are WAY more crowded
b) Trains to get there are often packed especially at peak times"
c) Tokyo itself is rather quiet after business hours
d) outskirts often means a variety of other increased expenses like the need for a car, or 2-3x the transportation cost going to and from etc..
Its better to find a quiet area IN tokyo, and enjoy the peace and quiet that comes with it
I visited a friend in"quiet" Saitama
and it was hell
even on the weekend, the trains out there (and back) were weirdly crowded (and few), then we had to wait 40 minutes for a simple restaurant for lunch, and hit a shopping center and supermarket to grab supplies and food, and from the parking lot to the shopping center itself, it was painfully crowded
at least in Tokyo, you can avoid the crowds
if one spot is too crowded, go to another
if your area in the outskirts is crowded
theres no escape
youre stuck in it
@@TokyoLens Thank you for saying this. I live 3 minutes away from Ueno station, and past 19:00, my neighbourhood is dead quiet. It is quite the opposite from what most people would think.
Norm showing us structural engineering, but also almost breaking Sherry's apartment in the process. Only the best quality content for us. ❤ 😆
I love these apartment tours! It's cool to see how other people live in Japan! Keep them coming! 😃
no shortage!
right? i wouldnt wanna live in japan, but its interesting to see :)
have you seen the video he did in that super narrow appartment in the middle of two streets?
that was very claustrophobic to me! 1. im pretty tall, 2. im not skinny (dutch people be like... lol)
I love how friendly every single one of the residents you interview with are with you!
Sherry is a special one
She literally helped start this channel lol
Hahaha yeah we have known each other a decade now lol
@@TokyoLens " Behind every great man there stands a woman " 😌 she is a rare friend.
The way you opened up the giant closet and Sherry ran in there for size comparison LOL
Galvanised steel and the aunts screws 😂😂Some of those videos are hilarious and occasionally they have good ideas 😊 She has a lovely practical home that looks clean, lovely and functional. Your gift was fantastic 💖
Nice to see Sherry again in a video.
Looks like a nice little apartment. I think it's nice that you are not passing through the kitchen to get into the main living space and that they are completely separate.
Having seen the live streams on Sherry's channel where she assembled some of the furniture it's nice to see it all came together ok.
But we did tell you that you needed to get her something like a 8ft Snorlax plushie as a moving in gift😂
thats actually a really good point
and yeah!! Sherry has been making the best of it with the streams!!
LOL the 8ft snorlax was just a little out of budget haha
We need more Sherry! She's so fun.
More Sherrrrrrrry!!!
luckily there's a playlist with over 20 sherry videos linked in the pinned comment!
Such a great little space! Also, I agree with Sherry, the second comfy chair is necessary.
eventually won me over haha
Right~? 🤣
@@sherryberryjpmost definitely absolutely right!
Sherry found quite a deal for $600. Had no idea something that large could be found in Tokyo central. Good job of organizing! I could live with that apartment.
a lot of things are "cheap" in standard exchange to USD around the world due to geopolitical reasons. but the locals do not use USD so direct conversion skews the reality of affordability.
It took a lot of work to find and get this apartment. Tokyo is very competitive lol But it's all worth it!
@@hzhang1228 True. For a Japanese person, this apartment feels like $1,000 and considered a bit pricy. But sill it's in the dead center of Tokyo. So it's worth it.
@@sherryberryjp I'd SO pay that for something in the middle of a city like Tokyo. It has everything you need.
@@rogerramjetox142pa600 a month is cheap
It was so nice to see Sherry again, she's so sweet. And she found an amazing apartment, I love it! Enjoy living in the big city.😊
she seems to be enjoying it so far!! Thanks so much~
Awwww thank you!!
The projector gift is very well thought and hearing Sherry say "I need it back" when you grabbed it is the cherry on top! Very nice apartment!
Morning, Norm! Thanks to Sherry for sharing a look of her new place! It looks great!
Also, appreciate the info of Japanese construction in regards to earthquakes.
im 50/50 on it though
cuz while I know they are safe in earthquakes, every home just feels so flimsy lol
She made such good use of the space!
definitely making the best of it!
Yaaay🙌
Sherry, you have turned your small apartment into a useful and comfortable space. You look to have all the facilities a single person might need and it’s easy to maintain and keep clean. Having downsized from a large house to a small mid terrace house I have all I could need or want and with less cleaning. 😊
I thought the gas gentleman was printing out an CVS receipt. Surprised there was space for shelving next to the refrigerator and great it solved the electrical plug problem.
That was exactly my thought! It was practically a CVS receipt 😂
I like Sherry's new apartment! And that chair looks very comfy! Perfect for reading, relaxing or watching a movie with that beamer you gave her. 👍
I watched the two live streams she did in which she built the bed and the desk. If I hadn't had a desk already(built by my dad so not planning on replacing it any time soon) I think I would've wanted one like that too! It looks nice!
Sherry is adorable! I love her smile!
Thank you!
I bought the same projector after seeing it in one of your past videos. It's quite good and the sound was better then I expected.
The sound is AMAZING! That’s actually what convinced me to get one for the studio!
Awww I’m so happy you shared this! Thank you!☺️
Can you hook up a sound bar to it? I’m not sure what the brand is
@@BB-jq4gt you probably could
But wouldn’t need to
That’s the point
It IS a sound bar lol
What specific projector was that? I'm looking for one XD
@@karmelow I also need to know, would be great to project onto the white wall in my garden!
Please tell Sherry that i love how she did her apartment and it was such a joy to get to see her fun personality. Ots always amzing to meet people of other cultures, especially where I'm homeboumd medically right now. You two gave me a nice little mental and emotional vacation from my situation. Health permitting i would love to visit Japan someday
My nana is Thai and ive been learning about her culture and it just makes me want to learn more about other Asian countries and cultures ❤

Happy for Sherry. Norm is super sweet to help his friend.
I know right!? He event went out on an apartment hunt (on my livestream) with me before finding this place cuz he knows more about Tokyo than me.
@@sherryberryjp 30 years ago - I lived on Prince Street south of Kōjimachi eki in a similar type apartment. I think the building is gone now. I hope it works out.
3:50 your average CVS receipt
😂 painfully true
I'm absolutely enjoying her incredibly accurate girl measuring of the fridge. That is exactly how I measure things and eyeball everything and it's usually right. I love it how you were like oh I doubt you and then you measured it and she's like exactly spot on and yeah maybe she could get a thinner fridge maybe those exist but like the fridge she's used to she knows exactly what size it is. 😂❤
Its always a treat to watch your video
(^-^)
It really is .
$600 seems like a great price. She really did amazing setting it up. I would probably struggle trying to figure it out with how tight it is, so I always enjoy seeing how everyone organizes these smaller places.
Hi Norm. Hi Sherry. Thank you for the tour. Looks great!
Sherry's english is excellent especially she said she was raised in the countryside of japan. She didn't has the accent which many japanese had
I lived in the States for 3 years ~
@@sherryberryjp Very cool! I know people who lived in the States for 20 years and can barely speak English.
@@sherryberryjp Surprised only 3 years. You have an American accent. I would have guessed you grew up in the states or spent like a decade or more. Where at in the states? Accent sounds midwestern to me.
I love her place, it's nice and cozy. When I saw the second chair, my first thought was for it to be a chair to just sit in and relax, read a book, or other things.
*snerks* That silly playfulness at the outro!!
Awesome video as always Norm and Sherry. Congratulations Sherry on your new apartment in the must amazing city in Japan. And I love your tiny apartment videos Norm.
I absolutely love that rice cooker, it’s so cute but also looks very modern
I love these types of videos, they're so fun to watch. I love seeing how someone decorates their houses or apartments and how they utilise space
I love how Norm had to show that he returned the projector.
I absolutely adore all the little hanging stuff in the kitchen/sink area. When I move to Japan I def want to see how creative I can get with small spaces. Great work as always!
i like the chair! having an extra seat means she can have a friend over too.
Honestly.., the chair won me over haha
Whoooo that was such a fun apartment tour😂!! Thanks Norm for another great video!! Also the Anker projector is so small and powerful💥Congrats Sherry on moving successfully to a cute apartment in Tokyo🎉 (love Ninja Sherry🥷lol)
glad you enjoyed it that much!!
Thanks for watching again!
Thank you 🙌 Loving the projector🥰
Where are the galvanized square steel, screws borrowed from aunt, and mattress borrowed from second aunt 🗣️🗣️🗣️
its in the vid lol
@@TokyoLens yeah I was memeing before getting to that part, totally on me 😂
She's so cultured
I love learning about how other people live. It's so humbling.
Awesome video, I hope you fixed that crack on the door frame 😂
That's not a bad place, and if the views are as good, $600 a month isn't bad!
Love the little useful things that Sherry was able to get.
We bought the same projector to use at our hotel stays in Japan when we come over 😅😂
$600 is amazing! I can''t find a studio for under 1000 where i live!
This apartment so reminds me of the places I stay at whenever I'm travelling around Japan and then the price does hit hard when you think about the fact that renting such a place for just a week would usually cost more.
I do love what she did to the place. Very functional and lovely.
$600 😭 once again complaining from ireland because there are no 1 bedroom apartments here for less than €900 and they're obsessed with building family homes instead of homes for singles/couples. this would be my ideal apartment but it just doesn't exist here.
I love what Sherry did with her place. I was trying to figure out the best use of the space for me and I would have been using a bookshelf next to the kitchen/living room divider door for additional storage space, but other than that I would like it just the way she has it. I thought the extra chair was for visitors until she explained about the dining area. Still, the chair is perfect for both uses. In such a central location, $600 is an absolute bargain!
I absolutely love Sherry! She seems absolutely delightful!
😆
Sherry’s place looks so cozy! That’s a pretty reasonable price for some of what I’ve seen in Tokyo, too!
Not bad right?
Thanks so much!!!
It is very cozy~
That's a great looking place! Really like what Sherry has done with it. If I didn't have so much stuff I'd happily live there. I'm kinda of envious of the bathroom. I don't have a drier and that's fine in summer as I have a balcony but having the bathroom with drier function would be great during winter.
Congrats on the move, Sherry! Hope you enjoy living there!
Sherry is a sweetheart, very kind. I love the size of the apartment. I haven't seen many Japanese apartments, but looks like it is big compared to the ones I noticed when I watch different videos. Thanks for sharing.
I think the price is ok taking in to consideration that it is sooo centrally located.😊 Love the natural light coming in...and the chair is a must! One needs another area to do stuff that's not in an office chair! the rice cooker is so cute!! And the house warming gift is perfect!!🎉
So happy that Sherry found a place to call home! It’s such a quaint, cozy space and I love how she planned it out and how it turned out in the end.
Your videos are always my favourite! You’re actually teaching me to be a minimalist as I’m currently a holder but now transitioning to minimalism. You show me how people in Tokyo live. I have to say out of all the houses you’ve shown, Sherrys apartment seems like a place I would want to stay with minus the pack of sockets… also for the prices it’s quite amazing!
I'm really so impressed with what Sherry was able to do with the space! It gives me a lot of inspiration. And she radiates such a bright energy, it's such a joy to see her in any of your videos! I was not expecting the galvanized steel meme, it took me out 😂 this video was the perfect length, I wish we could get more like this but it feels so rare how often close friends move! Best of luck in Tokyo :)
Sherry is pure sunshine! I love her energy! She did such a great job, and her apartment is so lovely.
Thank you !!
Man, I havent seen sherry in ages! Such a delight to see her!
Hi~ I briefly appeared in the 1 million adventure video and a Shikoku livestream!
I would absolutely pay $600/mo to live there! That same apartment here in LA would be like...$1400, and would be in a bad area. Gosh I'm always so jealous of Japanese apartments.
Awesome, nice to see you guys!
That projector seems like an awesome gift.
Notification squad! Love these (not so) tiny apartment videos. And welcome to Tokyo, Sherry!
(^-^) Thanks~
Thank you!!
I'm indian and I loved the apartment, the way she has organised it. ❣️ That projector is cherry on the cake☺️
Congrats to Sherry! Thanks for allowing Norm and us to view your new place. I hope you will be very happy there!
Thank you!
Sherry is so amazing! And her english is incredible
That’s a fun video and Sherry is a good sport. I like this micro apartment which has enough room for everything you need.
What a cute apartment! For $600. that is fantastic, especially in Tokyo!! 🎉Congratulations, Sherry!
Thank you!
That's a great price! In my city (Minneapolis, MN, USA), it's very hard to find an okay studio apartment for less than USD$1,000/month. And that does not usually have a space for an indoor washing machine! Love that it's in the middle of things, too. Happy new home, Sherry!
Congratulations on the new apartment Sherry!
right! Exciting times!! Congrats sherry~
Thank you!!
@@sherryberryjp looks like you made a really good use of the space
Moving to a new apartment is no joke. It's very stressful and emotional feat for me. It's great to see how you guys managed it, and glad that the things needed to be replaced have been taken care of. I'm happy to see Sherry cozying up to her new apartment. Congratulations, Sherry! 🎉❤
I remember when I first came to Japan, I stayed in an Airbnb in Yakuendai, and the place is just like what Shery-san lived in, tho a bit older and smaller still.
For context, I am from Singapore and the minimum houses are 3-room flats, but the issue is that they are all meant for families. 1-room and 2-room flats exist, but only for the low-income families. So Japanese apartments like these are way smaller than what I see in Singapore, but despite that, for an individual it is not just perfectly sufficient, but actually very spacious for a lot of things.
Also I like how we went from "barely tiny" to "comfortably tiny", which I like haha. And now watching the next part of the video where Sherry-san has furnished her house, I actually love it. Without the requirement of starting a family and just being alone, the freedom and spacious-ness of the one room is actually very nice.
Wow, an amazing spot. If I could move to Japan I would love a place like that! Congrats Sherry!
Her place looks so cute! Props to her for making it look very cozy and cool
Yaaay!
For someone who lives in a small apartment (for North American standards) I also learned the value of putting up hooks and magnets in the kitchen. I literally have no drawers and only one cupboard, so there is no space for utensils, spatulas, cooking knives, etc.
We need to be creative right!? That's always the fun part!
I enjoy these japanese apartment videos its always interesting seeing how creative people have to get with limited spaces.
Her joke about the galvanized steel from her aunt got me. Liking this video!
So cool to finally see how it all came together. Congrats on the beautiful space Sherry, and thanks for the tour as always Norm. This was a fun one!!
Love the maintenance mans little Cameo I love it when asian people bow out of respect it's the sweetest thing ever such a lovely culture
100% would live there. It's got all the room you need really. I like the cozy feel and you can't beat being in the middle of the city. It seems like the apartment company fixed everything up fairly quickly too. Two thumbs up.
Great seeing the before and after for Sherry's apartment. Thanks for another awesome apartment adventure.
is always so interesting watching tokyo house tours, its nice seeing it before and after furnished, though is funny how different it is from my first week in my current danish apartment, I literally had a matress on the floor in what is now my office/dining room, a single purple side table, a power strip, and an old wooden dining chair
I love her smile! Great video. Nice to see how other side of the world lives.
😆
That's a great price for a central location in a top tier city, even accounting for the fact that Tokyo is generally less expensive than others. Well worth a few small initial headaches with broken stuff needing to be repaired right away. The size is ample for a single person and I'd especially appreciate the large closet. I also totally agree with needing a comfy place to relax, read, and dine, although personally I would have gone with more traditional furniture like a Kotatsu and a futon to allow more flexible use of the limited space. I'd probably go with an L-shaped desk in the area where she has the bed and have some sort of free standing divider or folding screen to help delineate working space, leaving the rest of the main room free as a separate living space with the Kotatsu as the central feature. I spend a lot of time working from home though so I probably need that separation of function more than others might.
Nice apartment at a great price. And Sherry, I like that chair. It looks comfortable.
Good job Sherry your place is really cute and functional. Thank you for sharing.

I have a lot of stuff, and an appartment like this would really make you decide on what is important enough to have in your house. There are pro's and cons to it just as there are to anything in live. I like it!
