I've become a Lauren Jenkins fan via being a Sprinsteen fan. She's like a young , female Bruce. Haunting voice... a great sense of appreciation for Americana and especially the American West. Very intelligent and her own person. Huge talent that'll go far.
If you ever get the chance to see this young woman, do it. We recently saw her in the Low Country of South Carolina and it was well worth the trip from Columbia, SC. There are only a few performances that can bring me to tears. One was watching my daughter perform ballet and the other is seeing Lauren perform her music.
First heard this version of the old Springsteen song on Saturday afternoon while working out in the backyard. Literally stopped what I was doing to listen, and later did a Google search to find it. Absolutely wonderful rendition.
Always the best way to discover a song........busy doing something and then stopping what you`re doing to listen........hits you hard, thank God for Google!!
What a beautiful and heartbreaking version of one of my Springsteen favorites. It's amazing how a young girls voice can give this old song another dimension. The video is spot on too, I've never been to the midwest (where I presume this is recorded) but this makes me want to see and experience these endless fields and rural towns. Thank you so much
