I just purchased a CB-500 for my wife. I did the jumper mod. I talked skip today in my wifes car with a lil wilson from Tampa FL to LI, NY. I was shocked that he heard me.. Her radio is doing almost 10 watts on AM and 20 on FM. I also bought one and my radio is about 8.5 AM and about 18.5 FM. She has the better radio. Lol. I think that we will stick with the 500 radios. Power level will work when you do the export mod,but if it's FCC approved set you're stuck,you may have to solder a small resistor in there if a export mod does exist
Does it do CTCSS? The Radioddity website says it "scans" CTCSS and DCS, but there's also a "606PRO" version with red display and heatsink. I hope they're not getting sloppy cause their other 11M radios have been surprisingly good
Looks just like the Anytone sr25mc more or less if so there's 2 or 4 small solder pads you connect I think just watch the video... I think I even see the solder pads in your video...
The radio set as FCC acceptable wont go over 4 but peaks should increased not decreased there may be tech accessable change not visible by standard operators
Beeps are qool you make believe you are nasa base talking to the landing crew on proximaB ( oops they have alien structures and travel by light pulses)

Get something with SSB and then you really enjoy the DX.

Theres too many of compact Am/Fm on market. I have a Pres Bill FCC and never use it but the WX was cool. But i have that on my dual VHF/UHF
No reason to buy one of these. The Pro 510/520 XL are good enough for a throw away CB.
