The ages have been retconned before (Classic Sonic being 16 in Jam but 15 in Adventure, Amy being 8 in Classic material but 12 in Adventure), and hardly anyone acts or is treated their actual age anyway, like how Boom Amy is still canonically 12 despite clearly being written much older.
