I bought a short-wheelbase underseat Vision R40 in 97. Fun little bike. Sucked hard going up hills. I still have it out in my shed. Tires are probably rotted right off. Wonder if I could do an ebike conversion on it.
Exactly! I'd imagine that 350-500 watts would be more than enough to transform it into something that could tackle any paved roads... 500w would be ~50% of most peoples' max power output, so I think it's probably sufficient to get up most hills anyways.
@@JustClaude13 I've got the bike in a garage now. Replaced a lot of the components. Trying to outfit it with a mid-drive motor out on the boom with a battery under the seat. Not sure it it's going to work or be too nose heavy. Also looking at replacing the front fork and wheel disk brake models.
Watched all 4. Fascinating talk.
Thanks it was interesting.

@Gus Remington nobody cares.
Rear hub motor and a battery in front of the seat. I can imagine that.

Sounds like quite a project. Good luck.
You did a 4 part history of recumbents and didn't even mention Ian Sims. Or was it just a history of what you have hanging up in your ceiling?
What is you best or favorite Recumbent bike ???
Infinity recumbent, so much fun and look awesome in person. People can't believe what they are seeing when you ride by
