Very true Just built a kaahila deck and 1/3 - 1/4 every opening hands are avacyn indestructible or that 7/7 lifelink, pay 7hp draw a card and 4 mana and sometimes a portal of thran Barely any interaction, only nonbasic land is the Westville Abby 100% jank and I see the rigging that's happening
They'd rather gaslight you and tell you that everything is fair and fine and working as intended, or use the 'anecdotal evidence' argument. Like, no...all of my friends stopped playing MTG: Arena for a reason.
yeah you can tell when arena wants you to lose. Every opponent draws and answer and you just draw land. That's the other side of the coin he isn't arguing; when the algorithm decides you're winning too much and has to balance your record.
Right before standard rotated out, I was playing a deck that was spirits, and tokens in white blue. Because there was a lot of creatures in it, I was paired against control, but because there was so much enchantment and combo and I put me against counterspell and discard decks. Needless to say, it was the only time I found a wide variety of gameplay while on arena. Because it could not figure out what my deck was trying to do. And I won the game in different ways each time. The crazy thing is half of my deck was either common or uncommons. It works fantastically well because the way that everything just nested together. I've only ever had that happen once or twice in other rotation formats. And when you can find the sliver that it doesn't know how to put into a box, you actually get to play the game as intended. Otherwise it's just a slot machine and a dice roll I'm super excited to see you confused and break the algorithm. Because that is the spirit of a true gamer❤
I will add, that in addition to women not understanding a man and his worn-in tea mug, we will also have the entirety of the UK, as well. Why, I microwave tea on occasion, just because I know it makes their blood piping-hot. Not the best cup of tea, one could imagine; But, still sufficient, if only for the chaos it represents for the British.
Arena recognized the masters insane power potential, so it decided to manascrew him in game one just for opponent to have a shot. Spoilers: it wasn’t enough!
Maaaan look at you! You nailed every sheoldred’s edict click, I’m proud ❤️ But this was pretty good ngl, keep this up, and don’t play a chimil when you see a season of the burrow in an opponents hand, come on!
I do a similar strategy, run a deck that doesn't have a point per-se. Its got pieces of several very well established decks but is missing the key bombs of those decks in favor of person favorite "surprise motherfucker" type cards. Current deck is somewhere between Gruul Dinosaurs, a ramp/landfall strategy, but REALLY is looking to get Tribute to the World Tree into Skitterbeam Battalion. I outlast most aggro then just beat them with bigger, more expensive cards. I'm immune to most control strats because they all tune for the meta and I am only really stopped by running 12+ boardwipes and a stack of disenchants. Combo decks are a pure race but I do run a ton of disenchant-on-creatures. Basically immune to flooding and land destruction. Basically immune to discard too. I would never claim my deck is good, but I've had runs of 10/0 3 days this week. And changing a single card completely changes what I fight against. Current setup has me terrorizing aggro token tribal piles of all the new shit like frogs and bats and whatever all the GW tokens are, rabbits and stuff in my mind.
I complained to wizards about the land draw being horrible since Bloomburrow and got this response: " I assure you that our algorithms, including matchmaking, the shuffler, coin flips, and others, have been tested at length and are working as intended. All players are on the same playing field using the exact same rules."
@@wafflebroz yes, I got the same email, several times, even after asking not to get that generic email again. Since then, it has only gotten worse. Either I cannot draw a third land even scrying through several cards, while opponent has one of each basic land on the board by turn 5, or I draw 9 lands in my first 11 draws. In recent draft I had drawn all 16 of the lands and had 21 cards left in the deck, twice in three games.....the game in between was two lands and I drew the 3rd on turn 12, with no chance by then...
I can always tell when Arena balances because for 6-7 games I I'm against absolute shit decks I can tell have just lost lots and need wins - mostly mono white or mono red with a splash of a 250 card deck that either has turn 3 combo or runs the perfect start and my fav part i.e. 250 card deck with 3/4 copies of cards when i can't even get a 3rd land from a 60 card deck.
so thats why my white black deck just works lmao idk how many times i have played against mono rres and my deck has so many random ways to gain some life they just cant close the game 😅

What I always, ALWAYS noticed from playing Arena is that if you play against weak players, you'll get mana screwed. Then, against strong players, you get mana-flooded. Only 10% of the time did land draw feel balanced.
The fact that you don't play decks you counter because they know what you're doing makes sense. I have a Nalia de'Arnise brawl deck that I made to be the most hateful deck against rats, goblins, and elves (I hate playing against these types of decks) so I have every -1/-1 effect permanent card along with every anthem for my cards and now I very rarely see these decks. It works against other decks like humans and soldiers pretty well but I want to make the rat, goblin, and elf people angry with this deck.
The first game with only two lands is fairly common now. You either get flooded or this. Even with things like Fabled Passage. They ruined the shuffle setup with Bloomburrow. Wizards admitted in a complaint I sent that they do manipulate this stuff and it’s working as intended. " I assure you that our algorithms, including matchmaking, the shuffler, coin flips, and others, have been tested at length and are working as intended. All players are on the same playing field using the exact same rules."
A week ago I made a reddit post to complaint against draw manipulation, I experienced the most ridiculous games, I mean, 5 games in a row I got land starved with a deck that has low cost cards but got only 3/4 and over mana cost in my hand and 2 land at best on the battle field. I got downvoted to hell, called shit at the game, "it's just variance bro you don't understand probabilities" then a mod took the thread down after 15 minutes. How dumb these people can be ? it's so obvious there is manipulation, but they act like I was advocating for the flat earth bs theory. pretty sure even if wotc revealed the game was indeed manipulated some of these people would still consider it fake.
I think arena either doesn't like me or they figured it out how you broke the algorithm because I copied the deck exactly and I just got paired up with mono blue and red white aggro. 10 games and only won 2 because they weren't mono blue nor red/white aggro. Plus I've never seen someone play over 15 counter spells in 1 single deck
I always run 25 lands if I run 5 drops. With the addition of fabled passage, every deck should consider running a playset. It fixes your mana, thins your deck, triggers landfall twice, and puts permanents in your graveyard. It's super versatile and allows you to run more than 24 lands without getting flooded late game.
@astrel1x39 did you not hear the entire opening monolog? Point of this deck is to NOT be optimized in order to get weaker opponents from the area matchmaking algorithm
facts. i love arena but the match ups for my decks are always just fast afro decks or when i go against someone who i can beat i get mana starved. even tho i have 20 on a 60 card deck. i drew 6 turns in a row no mana so many times so i just forfeit
i knew this years ago.. you could literally see this to be true.. FROM the get go... - it isnt just rare and mythic cards.. those have points of there own.. like consider common be 1.. uncommon be 2... rare 3.. mythic be 4... - BUT.. card count also play a part into it.. - its a matrix.. as you play.. it keeps track of your win conditions as well, you are playing a mil deck.. and you come up again a deck with 250 cards.. - not to mention the 250 card deck gets PERFECT draw.. like perfect amount of lands.. AND counters to your deck.. the mana level also determines amount of positive or negative points applied to the card.. so if you have a bunch of 9 mana cards in your deck you have a negative deck. lol. whatever it needs to play the game its really weird. - i also think it keeps track of combo cards... AND the game has Bot accounts at which get perfect draws.. i remember when tibalts trickery came out... - literally.. i wont 13 games in a row.. and i came across this extremely weird player.. looked like a sus account.. got a PERFECT Draw.. now what do i mean by that.. - They Draw.. EVERYTHING they need to counter EVERYTHING im doing.. - if i had 2 creatures and a land search.. they would start out with a counter spell and two destroy creature cards.. - Their deck continues to ramp.. while mine goes into drought
Find "strictly worse" versions with the same synergy and arena will way underrate your deck. This works really well with stupid life gain decks in historic since there are a billion slightly worse life triggers than like soul warden. Keep pridemate, Valkyrie, and soul warden out of your deck and you will have the same stupid annoying gameplay against way worse opponents
I lose it almost all the time, simply cause WoTC stupid algorithms. No way should a deck with 24 lands and 62 cards draw only 3 mana out of the first 12 cards. I can win a LOT of games, problem is that their game screws me because "everyone should have fun so we have to curve everyone to a 50/50 win lose".
Ye the algoritm sucks, sometime the lands drop is realy realy bad, sometime no lads sometime only lands. And even if u creating a good deck against the algoritm, after some wins game wants u to lose, so algoritm getting red against u, makes u to drop only lands or no lads

Arena experiment. Oh, sweet days of mono red aggro/burn with 8 lands where you perfectly draw 'em, that was surrealistic and epic
29:10 you roasted season of the burrow earlier in the video without even reading its final effect and it came back to bite you 💀💀💀

100% yes, that Mono-Red fell flat on its face and as soon as he missed the land drop I thought it was curtains for sure.

I find building off meta midrange decks in Arena gets a lot of favorable match ups because Arena isn't sure what your strategy is.

I thought it only worked in non ranked. If this works for ranked as well that is insane. I wonder if it works for draft as well even.
O bom desses decks "sem pé nem cabeça" é que basta serem chamados de "midrange" que passa a fazer sentido 😂
why does the accent phase between nondeterminate eastern euro and midwest US?
This looks like one of my decks because i cant be bothered to spend money on the game for wildcards to have a full set of 4 of anything.
I made a deck like this because i just started playing and needed 60 cards, im currently on plat 2 with it and everyone has multiple plainswalkers
