My favorite video of yours! I love that Chris didn't just do it, but showed you and helped walk you through it. Lbs mean nothing these days. Not like 40 years ago!
The Prima is a sweet bow for ladies, even shorter draw guys. I just got the V3-31 and Im loving it. It’s a tack driver. I kept my Triax for a back up bow for my trips out to the Mid West. GL with the new bow K.
Kaitlin and Chris perfect 👍 combination..I know that y’all will have each other’s back.. How about a future elk hunt together.. I’m 87 and a retired Pro photographer, Elite archer with over 💯 whitetail 🦌 deer kills , and even shot with Howard Hill long before you were born . Seriously,, much success going forward
You are so fortunate, to have one of the best known archery shooters, helping you with your set up!!! I’ve been shooting archery for 20+ years, & you already know more than I’ve learned, or had access to learn. I once had my flame jump to my waxed bow string, while tying on a D loop. 💥😑😖$$
That was a very good video. I'm saving it for the vast information on setting up a bow properly. I fully appreciate the knowledge of the process. The knot tying process made this alot more comprehensive personally for me. It shows how to keep it centered and not unbalanced. I'm sure you are going to do just fine with this bow. Can't wait for the sighting in video. Your form isn't that bad. You just need to work on going to your anchor point more quickly naturally. It will help in the field when decisions need to be made quicker. Delay converts to hesitation. Hesitation can lead to bad shots or no shot at all. Quickness to anchor is key to success. I shoot instinctive just so I'm not trying to calculate which pin to use. I have shot more deer on the run than I have standing still because of being able to anchor quickly and never hesitating. Learning to lead helps. Try rabbit hunting for learning to draw and shoot quickly. Pull your bow back often and practice going to anchor. I shoot fingers so this makes it easier for me as well. I think you have always used a release so changing that up might become an obstacle. Either way just pulling the bow back often will help in getting you to anchor. You are a great shot when push comes to shove so I know you will do well with this bow as long as you practice, practice, practice. Have a safe and healthy season. Can't wait for the videos. This one was very informative. Thanks
learning to work on your own bow is actually really fun and satisfying. I learned to do almost everything myself including fletch arrows. good luck in your hunts this year and many more.
Just a tip for ya Bee when doing a peep have them draw to anchor and stick a piece of tape in front of the pupil or tie on a string then separate the string and place the peep saving alot of drawing and moving the peep and also keeps the string twists in their natural position still use twist in the string to fix peep alignment
Hey man nothing wrong with that, I saved for months to get my bear not one of there high end models just a 500. Dollar ready to hunt deal. At the end of the day the arrow doesn’t really care what’s flinging it.
"Do you want to say anything about that?" Chris-"Nope" that was funny as heck😂😂😂😂😂 he could've went into why it's better than the others but instead he's like "try it if you want, I'm not gonna push it on you". Love both yours and his video's. Watched all of his recents so trying to catch up on yours haha
when putting in your nock point mark, try tying it above the nock on the string, the arrow nock travels up the string, not down so putting the nock point above the nock on the string will help ensure it is always in the same place.
Chris is a wizard & great teacher when it comes to setting up bows! That one came out super sick! Deer, Hogs & Turkey beware, can't wait to see it in action this year!
Nice Build Kaitlyn! I like the bow and string color Good choice. I just had my Diamond Bowtech Restrung and tuned this week with green and black, I like watching your videos its more fun than any tv show. keep smiling and have a great hunting season. I'll be watchin!!
Great video and tutorial! You're form is fine, just follow through. You are a hunter, that is already established. The form will improve over time. Shots on game matter most Good! Good hunting with your new bow! 🏹🦌
Nice video. I have been thinking a bit of Prima as well. I would like a V3 27 or a V3X 29, but it looks like these bows are not available in the 40-50# range, plus short draw. I shoot appr. 42# and my draw length is 25½" or maybe it should even be a tad smaller. But then my question would be: Is Prima actually a version of V3 / V3X or is it a lot different?
Great video! A few hours ago I got a bright green Halo serving and a new string, randomly went on RUclips and you streamed a video about your bow tuning. I will be rocking green this year as well 😎 Ya pretty strong, if ya pulling almost 50#. Makes me wanna step up the poundage on my recurve, which is 50# 2 😃 Looking forward for new videos!

Got a question was looking at hoyt ventum pro 30 and the prima could be a 24 1/2 almost 25 ish for draw and can almost pull 50 lbs any suggestions with what I should go with I'm like l30lbs lol and 5'1
@@KaitlynMausOutdoors thanks for feed back I appreciate yeaI know liked how hoyt for its specs but idk if my draw would be too short but I wasn't sure poundage whise how much growth could get with prima
New sub over from Chris Bee. Cool vid you guys are awesome together. Just got my new V3 31 with the ultraview grip in Chris Bee yellow. Got to represent. Cant wait to put the the smack down on some thunder chicken here in Ny. You guys are the best💯
Awesome video and ur looking good as always. I was wondering how they fix up bows like that. Now I no. I would still love to c u get more involved with different kind of outdoor activities. Like catch clean and cooking stuff. I have hope In u. Looking forward to seeing u practice shooting with some good background music like in ur last bow practice video. God bless u be save. Love to c the happy girl. Cheers
Not really a brand people know of but I just picked up a APA 2022 King Cobra! The thing is a beast I love it, the cams aren't as forgiving as my PSE ferocity but the performance is undeniable!
So I also just bought a Mathews prima coming from a triax also do you find that the 7 inch stabilizer on the front is enough? No side bar? Im running I think an 8 and a 6 beestinger I want to get a schrewd but anything archery is hard to get these days but I seem to be having a hard time with accuracy my triax I was shooting tight groups . I shoot good group till I get out to 45 yards any suggestions ? Very frustrating
Personally I prefer a shorter stabilizer for hunting. No back bar. I find the extra weight makes it more difficult to settle yourself in hunting situations as opposed to targets when you have all the time in the world. Did you change anything to cause your groups to change?
@@KaitlynMausOutdoors I have. A 26 inch draw and 48 lbs i don’t know maybe it’s my form I have been shooting on and off for 3 years I’m using a spot hog wise guy release
Also do you think strings make a difference ? I noticed you put gas strings on right off the bat instead of factory zebra . And I shoot gold tip hunter xt I noticed your shooting Easton axis and a four flech why? Better flight?
Personally, the triax was my favorite shooting bow so far. The prima is more of a women's bow as it's lightweight with a longer ata. I like both but it's not my favorite. I'd recommend just shooting a few at a shop if you are able.
Have you ever thought about a Hoyt. I'm looking at one called the hyperforce. I was wondering if you had any thoughts on it I was thinking about possibly buying one from a friend.
Kaitlyn: "Also I am probably punchin' the crap out of the trigger..." Chris: "I should teach you how to shoot the UV Hinge!" In all seriousness that would be an awesome "teacher/student" video in the near future since you have the perfect instructor on a hinge.
I actually have played with the hinge, but im not going to use it in hunting situations. Too much going on for me to risk a shot going off at the wrong time. I dont usually punch my trigger anyway
"Negatory;" That's "Negative," with a twist. I thought I was the only one who said that. My jaw almost dropped when Chris said it. I just googled it. It's an actual word in the English language. Come from Latin.
My local shop has you draw the bow without a peep, set anchor and then marks a line with sharpie where the peep should be when you tell them it lines up. Dead perfect unless they install it in the wrong spot.
So here’s a trick that might work for your peep set I usually measure 4.5 inches from the top of the D loop to center of the prep for females and for males about 5.5 to 6 inches from the top of the D loop to center of the peep.
