Another great video. I don't know whether you realize what a great service you are doing for golfers of all handicaps. Your knowledge, your manner, your attitude, and your smile make it all worthwhile.
Gen, just been watching the women’s open at Muirfield. I know she didn’t win but In Gee Chun’s swing is identical to yours. From a distance it could be you! Keep going and you’ll get there. I can’t wait to watch you playing at a major.
Hi Gen, the first time I went to Thailand was in 2008. I was playing off 8 and thought I was hot poop. Alas I struggled. Jungle, water, sand and that awful rough was my downfall. I finally realised that fairway was more important than distance off the tee. 2 years later I was off 5 and at age 57 I'm still off 5. You don't putt for dough unless you drive for show. Rooting for you on your next tour outing. Best of luck. Simon
4:05 When you pull up to a par 5 and there are three groups on the hole excluding yours, fun 5.5hrs round incoming! On the bright side, allows more time for Gen to record her thoughts
When I can't go out and play, i love watching your videos. Superb editing and ball tracking, as well as excellent analysis inbetween shots. Keep up the great work!
I must admit I haven’t watched any of your posts for a while, I’ve been busy working on my house. This is the first one I’ve watched for quite a while and I was surprised when I watched you driving off the tee!! You seem to have developed much more power Gen, you look great!! Your form is definitely comparable with any of the ladies currently in the British open on TV at the moment. It won’t be long now before we’re watching you on the telly alongside the likes of Lydia Ko!! I don’t know what you’re doing but keep it up!!
Obviously you need to execute your shots, but also finding ways to give you an advantage if you're slightly off. The strategy is what I really love about golf!
@@GenevieveLingGolf BTW, good luck in your future events and travels! I enjoy the updates when you are LET Access, and I hope you can eventually make the main LET or LPGA tours!
Great video! I love watching you play and talk about course management. Well done. I agree with your comment on center of the green. I actually like a concept where I make a mental goalpost on the green, and the idea is to make sure I land it between those mental posts. If I can do that, ive hit a good shot. I got that tip from Harry Higgs on some other RUclips video. Keep it up - we are cheering for you!!
great video, great drivers and tips for course management. as for a high handicapers, I am so amazed with your simple yet very effective around the green bunker shots...
Nice to see you again, great knowledge. You do such a great job of firing your hips first and allowing your upper body to follow. I’m a senior golfer and your swing is a wonderful image that reminds me of how important that fundamental is. Thank you.
Ha! Totally agree. And thank you for saying the women's game is more relatable. Explains why, I too, watch the women's tours way over the men's. All things change. I was, obviously, venting on the clubs. (showing me age here.) But, the Cleveland xl halo launchers are really nice for we older gents. Friend has the HB Turbo, and I really like the way they get the ball in the air. =:)
Very great information, Gen!! I try for the biggest portion of the fairways, but, my slice too often has something to say about that! haha!! Great tee shot and 2nd shot on 6, those were near perfect to my untrained eyes. Thanks for sharing!!
Well at least you are self aware and know that your miss is the slice! I would say aim more for the slice but I know that probably is the bad miss shot where if you aim more, you will either end up slicing more or end up hitting it straight! 🤣 oh golf, isn't it a funny game!
@@GenevieveLingGolf Thanks, Gen! I am playing on Sunday, I will try to remember your sage words!! It is indeed, a funny game, but most satisfying with even one super solid driver or 3-wood strike for a round of 18
You are doing magic around the greens. Your up an down are great. Do you like chipping and have the ball land near the whole with a higher loft or rolling the ball to the whole with a lower loft? This is another great video.
I always use my 58 but if you mean in terms of trajectory, I would say I play a lower one around the greens for sure! Although maybe not as low as a bump and run (especially since I'm using a 58), its definitely more of a low check-er!
I haven't seen a WITB with Gen. Varying from course to course...does Gen swap clubs in and out of the bag? Myself and my golf friends swap out wedges to hybrids to fairway woods based to the courses we play. I would like to see a pros thoughts as it would definitely change how amateurs manage a course.. Happy Week!!! Keep up the great content!!!
I don’t usually change anything! Unless we are talking about playing in different countries, for instance, in Europe I might consider using my 5 iron instead of my 5 hybrid because I willl need lower shots in windy conditions as opposed to here in Malaysia :)
The most facinating thing about you and your swing is the exact same tempo on every shot Gen. Mine has a tendency to speed up as the round gets into the second nine. My question is how do you control your tempo so well?
You're right, that's probably better terminology for it but also depends on what you're referring to I guess! When I say centre of the green I mean direction wise AND distance wise whereas I think if you say fat part of the green, it doesn't necessarily mean distance wise 🙂
@@GenevieveLingGolf I think we mean the same thing. For me, the most important part is taking those extra few seconds to think things though and make sure I have evaluated fully the risks, reward and consequences of the potential missed shot
Gen great vlog! Love it when you share how you plot your way around the course! Also I’m a total 🤓 but are you using your old g410 irons?? If so you still hit em fantastic.

I usually use map to find fairways, most of them I can see from the tee box. Hitting a ball in the fairway is a little harder though.
