- On the hit Netflix series "Somebody Feed Phil," Phil Rosenthal eats his way around the world to discover what makes food, and the people who cook it, so captivating. The idea for the show came from an encounter years ago with comedian Ray Romano (star of the hit sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond," which Rosenthal created). Rosenthal and Romano talk about their bond, and the transformative power of travel, to CBS News' Dr. Jon LaPook.

Phil makes travel so fun! We started watching during pandemic to help fill the absence of travel. So interesting and hilarious. And I will say… you can ALWAYS tell by Phil’s reaction if the food is REALLY GOOD 💕

Somebody Feed Phil is a gift to the world! Phil is so informative and curious. The show is also funny yet zen at the same time. Plus, the shots in this show are incredible. It feels like you are traveling with Phil as he visits these places. This show makes me happy.
I ate a restaurant in Culver City because Phil ate at it. It was wonderful. I try to model him when I travel. He’s really about the people and learning from them. Phil is a gem.

My daughter and I were just in Paris and ate at two of the places Phil featured in his show. It was a fun adventure to follow in his footsteps, and MAN the food was good. Can't wait for the new season!

You so nailed it on how food brings people together, just like all the families who have Sunday dinner or Thanksgiving at Momma's or Grandma's and if you're a family member who's too busy to show up, then you're probably not somebody I wanna be related to anyway.

He isn't imitating anyone. He is expressing his love of food. Is Anthony Bourdain the only food lover who can ever do this kind of show? I suppose you don't like Andrew Zimmern's or Stanley Tucci's shows, either. Phil does not have Bourdain's knowledge and palate because he was not a chef. This show educates people, and they enjoy it. Bourdain would be glad that others are carrying on this type of show
