I saw Decapitated play The Well in Leeds (then Josephs Well) about six months before the accident. One of the 2 or 3 best gigs i've ever seen in 30 years of gigging.

This is that heavy raw live sound that I have always loved decapitated for. The first time i saw them in a small night club in 05 or 06 with the orginal line up minus sauron, i felt like I had been run over by a bus after their performance
I REALLY like this band and think they are super awesome. Having said that, the new drummer is playing everything slower but tighter. I prefer a little bit of playing ahead and behind the beat depending on the part. This drummer just plays straight, doesn't seem to hit hard, and is not angry lol. I want a drummer playing pissed off lol.

Overall, I enjoyed the set, and I'd definitely see them live because their guitarist is badass. But I really wish they'd get a second guitarist just for the rhythm sections during certain solos. A solo like the one on 404 would sound so much better with another backing guitar track, that isn't actually sampled through the PA. But, like I said, overall, I liked the set. Also, I'm totally not trying to hate on their vocalist, but I don't get why they had to find a guy that sounded so similar to the dude on Organic at least to me it sounds like similar styles. I don't DISLIKE it. But it'd be cool to see maybe the lead singer from a band like Thy Art Is Murder, or Mikael Akerfeldt, back when he was doing Bloodbath quality gutturals just do a guest spot on an album just to see what this band would sound like with a REALLY heavy vocalist. I mean, either way, I really enjoyed that new song they put out recently and I'll pick up the albums regardless. Decapitated is still great no matter how contradicting I might sound lol.

There's some simple twiddle masked in wah effects, and a bit of scratch slide outs at the end - no double handing, and definitely not comparable to "Dimebag techniques" - the fact you reference him without even know what a double tap is just insults tbh. You should reference GreenDay or someone like that, cus they all do it all the time. Maybe leave the guitar technique answers to those who play guitar.

+Jade Prout Yer that's a super basic manouvre that every guitarist can do - a pick scrape slide, but embelished with some hand slides. It's a move you learn in the first year of playing. Interesting that you think it looks really cool though - I'll have to remember to do it a few times on my next gig ahaha...
In my opinion, the tempo is too slow generally. I saw Decapitated in 2003 with Vitek and in 2012 with Pawel drumming and they played faster, more brutal than the new drummer. He needs to speed up to make shows more lively. Still a good performance from a good band who have had a hard time in recent years. I wouldn't write them off just yet.
Let's all be realistic here, Vitek is a legendary, percussive monster. Decapitated will never find another drummer of that degree. I'm sure the sibling bond had its own magical effect on the sound as well. That being said, I don't think this drummer is terrible. He does the job, and it's kinda cool to see Voggs playing "stand out" more than usual. I noticed some pretty badass, technical riffs that I had never noticed over the drum saturation. I saw them in Ft Worth, Texas on the 2010 Summer Slaughter Tour and they fucking killed it! I believe that was Krihm drumming at the time. In any case Decapitated has never let me down. Everyone has a lackluster show from time to time. They have lasted the test of time, and I don't see them leaving anytime soon, unless they are found guilty in the rape/kidnapping charges. That would definitely change things, but I digress.
The vocals do not sound good to me anymore, they sound way too forced and low, much like what happened to Anders from In Flames trying to sing old songs. New drummers does do job just fine.
New drummer's ok but.. to be honest Krim was actually a perfect fit previously. He can play old songs from the band flawlessly and brutally fast. I hope the drummer would progress along the way.
