  • Ellab is a Danish-owned company with 75 years of experience in validation and monitoring equipment for some of the world's largest pharmaceutical producers, biotech industries and food producers. Ellab chose to set up their very own SMT line in-house to achieve a good inspection control of their prints, and to ensure a really high quality of their products. Ellab needed to be able to run many different prints with many changeovers that they needed to be able to switch between as quickly as possible. At the same time, their R&D department needed to be able to quickly adapt to working with their prototypes.
In this process, the Danish distributor Eltraco was a good partner in finding and determining what equipment was needed to meet the needs. Part of the decision, it was also important for Ellab to have full control over the entire value chain and at the same time achieve high quality. They felt that Mycronic's equipment, consisting of a Jet printer, an SPI and an AOI, gave them the flexibility they needed in their production. For Mycronic, a project like this shows that with new smart technology, you can produce new smart technology in a competitive way even in a high-cost region like the Nordic region. And that such a decision can be made on commercial grounds.
