    I have used the Chagrin Valley shampoo bar's for a few years now, and most definitely they are one of my favorite brands... My hair loves them.. They last along time and the price is great... Love U

    Just tried the coconut milk bar on my long hair and didn't know about the ACV rinse. I have to say that even without the rinse, my hair turned out really nice! I was shocked at how few tangles I had with it as well. Thanks for the very informative video!

    Shampoo bars are so convenient! I used to use the Lush ones until I developed an allergy to SLS. I'll have to keep this brand in mind. I'm hoping the Canadian dollar won't be bad for too much longer.

    To be honest: am suffering with sebbhoraic dermatitis on my scalp, and since i have been drinking ciders it has gotten worse, and the very expensive "special" shampoo from the pharmacy just even made it worse, so i went to the chagrin shop again, and begin, coz what i've experienced the last time, is that, it healed my scalp!!!i just didn't know how to rinse and condition, yet! because of Steph, I have become wiser! Thanks for the review, Steph!🤩

    How do you properly store your used shampoo bars? I share the bathroom with family, I'm looking for a way to keep my soaps from getting wet so that they last longer. Right now what I can do is put them in a separate fabric string pouch to hold it and hang them in the balcony or open window to air dry. The pouch also serves as a travel pouch/container for soap.

    • @StephArizona
      @StephArizona  8 лет назад +1

      +Aylin Vo hi Aylin! I dry it off and then place it in a cool dry place like my dry soap wrack in my bathroom closet. It seems to work 💆 thanks for watching!

      You could also cut the shampoo bars up and just leave the rest of the bar in another room and only bring a little piece into the shower just enough for that one wash. I store my shampoo bars in my bedroom away from the shower.

    I LOVE Chagrin Valley shampoo bars! My favorite is the Ayuverdic Herb and the Soap Nuts. I think Soap Nuts may be number one for me... they have helped strengthen my hair, helped it grow faster, and my hair is fuller and wavier than ever. I even have waves I never knew I had! I did go through a transition phase like you, and I am glad I stuck through it. I do not do the AVC; I find I do not need it, especially with the soap nuts one, although I will do so once a month or so to remove any build up. I look forward to following more of your hair care tips!

    Hi Steph. I absolutely love ALL of your videos. Very helpful. Question: Do you still use chagrin valley shampoo bars in your routine? If not can you detail why? I plan to purchase but want to know of longterm usage problems if any. What was/is your exerience with them good & or bad? Please share with me. Thank you!

    I really want to try out the coconut milk-one! Happy to hear you have a great experience with your bar. When I transitioned I also had 2 weeks of horrible waxy gluey feeling but now my hair feels amazing. I have only done one ACV rinse since transitioning - so in response to the ones in the comment who have been asking if you have to do it every time - no you do not! :)

    hey steph thank you for the video! I just purchased a few shampoo bars and tried one tonght! omg I love it but I also think I am going through the transitioning because my hair looks wet and I was like omg! but I'm gonna try to stick it out. & does it really take two weeks before your scalp gets used to the change?? And one more question. did you use one bar at a time until you used it up or can you use different bar each time?

    • @StephArizona
      @StephArizona  8 лет назад

      Hi Jackie! I felt exactly the same way the first time I used a shampoo bar. My hair hated it and it felt waxy and wet like yours. For me it took two weeks to transition but it can be different for everyone. I skipped around within the same brand of bars when I needed to wash my hair. I hope I could help answer your questions, thank you for watching! 😊

    I have been using shampoo bar for more than 6 months, Apple cider vinager rinses made it much easier and helped my greasy scalp so much! You should try the shampoo bars and hair oils from Soap Cauldron Three Sisters Apothecary brand, it's a great product and unfortunately it's not widely know. You can find it in Whole foods and in their online store. I will give it a try to this other brand, thank you for the review.

    I've been using Wen and it makes my hair feel like it needs to be washed after a while because it feels heavy and my curls are gone. I bought 4 sample sizes. Let's see how this goes! I remember one video u said u bought conditioner at like, whole foods I think you said. What's a good conditioner? Something lightweight. I have fine, but curly hair.

    Hey! I have a question. I started using these and they were great at first, but a few days ago I did an oil treatment and the bars wouldn't get the oils out at all. I had to rewash my hair five times and my hair looks so frizzy now. How did you manage to get oils out of your hair with these bars after doing a treatment?

    • @StephArizona
      @StephArizona  7 лет назад

      +ASMR Chershi It may be because your hair isn't used to it. Also ou need to use an Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) Rinse after each use. Check out this video and go to about 8 minutes into the video for the ACV Rinse m.ruclips.net/video/RLX5YTDzLyA/видео.html 👱💆👍🤗

    Great review! I tried their Butter Bar Conditioner Shampoo bar for the first time this week (it's shampoo & conditioner in one--perfect for my dry, curly hair) & liked it a lot. I'm a bit nervous to try shampoo bars since I know my water is on the scale of Very Hard. I once used diluted Dr. Bronner's liquid to wash my hair and even with an ACV rinse it was a mess for me! I need to stop procrastinating and just get myself a water softener, haha. But thank you for the video, I'll be sure to put the coconut milk bar on my list when I try it out! 💚

    after your hair gets used to the transition, can you then stop using the apple cider vinegar rinse? I'm only asking because I dislike using that but I still have a little bit of soap residue left in my hair after showering. And if some of the soap is left in your hair would it cause any kind of breakage?..Please let me know :/

    • @StephArizona
      @StephArizona  7 лет назад

      +jackie jean I always use an ACV Rinse after using this bar, thanks for watching!

    • @janelkisner
      @janelkisner 7 лет назад +1

      I use Chagrin Valley shampoo bars, and I never use the AVC; only in the beginning when I was going through the transition. Once every 1-2 months, I will do a ACV rinse to refresh my hair and remove any possible product buildup. My hair is a similar texture and waviness as Steph Arizona, although my hair is almost shoulder length. I have no issues with tangles or breakage. You can try both with and without to find what works best for you.

    I'm on my 3rd shampoo bar, which is rosemary/lavender!!! This one is sooo soft on my hair... and, i think am stopping here 'coz i won't be able to memorize them anymore!!! I still have ten others to try....I know, I got "nutz" buying all the "try outs"!!! hahaha....but, this time, I will finish them all 'coz I got crazy about them!!! They also healed my dermatitis!!!! Which is the reason I went back on them!!!I just used a conditioner coz I hate the vinegars, and it went fine, too!

    Hey Steph, I have a question, belonging to the Transitioning Phase!
    I am using the Shampoo Bar (Babassu Olive) and my Hair started to get super oily. I am able to rub the hair down to the ends, because it has so much oil on. Is this normal für the transition phase or is the oil content too much for my hair?
    PS: I finally found out, who you remind me of: Valentina from "Imaginerium of Dr. parnassus", very beautiful!

    I've just started using a no-poo method with castile soap and have done my first wash - after washing with the soap I had to rinse and wash again to get some lather (probably because I had so much product in my hair) Even after a vinegar rinse I've still got some of the waxy feel - I think it will take a few goes before all the product build up from my old regime is gone. As it's drying it feels magically soft though and as if I need no leave-ins (when using sulfate shampoo I need a ton of leave-in because it leaves my hair like a frizz-ball lol!) I'm dying to experiment with other types of soap and different strengths of vinegar to see how they affect my hair. Thankyou for sharing your tips here, at least now I know a waxy film on the hair is normal as you transition to a soap-based bar! I'm kind of amazed at how good my hair feels so far though...

    + Steph Arizona I experience the same waxy feeling.. but problem is I've been using it two weeks now .. I notice more hair falling and im having severe hair fall n loosing all my hair dreadfully very rapidly.. I used to have very thick long hair and healthy .. Ive tried eveything and now I'm using these shampoo bars and see no difference rather more hair fall .. I don't understand why cause I have very short hair and i had shaved my hair off completely about a year and half ago when it first grew a little it was growing healthy n now since past few months it's just falling dreadfully..i am only 19 and I'm preety scared and it breaks my heart because I had long and thick hair throughout my life and now at this point it's just giving up on me.. can u please suggest me something..😥😞

    This is a good review but the fact you put your plastic free shampoo bar into plastic containers defeats part of the purpose of a shampoo bar....

    hmm i also have a very waxy feeling on the middle of my hair. its just grease, disgusting. have to wear my hair in a bun. the strange thing is that my scalp is clean. i always thought the soap made it waxy and would be like this forever. now i see that its just with the transition. i guess i have to hold on :)
