Hold local authorities accountable. These local authorities many times refuse help playing politics. This is terrible but people need to understand that to are responsible for yourself in a disaster for a few days.
FEMA needs to be told where the aid needs to go, the people who need the aid are incapable of communication due to a lack of cell towers and service. We absolutely shouldn't be seeing this kind of gap in our disaster response. Putting in temporary cell phone towers should be happening as linemen and first responders are entering the area. These areas in river canyons in the hills need to be built much farther up the banks, with flooding in mind. thats for the future, but it needs to be done.
Exactly Louisiana needs cell towers repaired and power lines and still massive lack of housing for people displaced from the previous storm and the storm before that.. FEMA NEEDS TO HELP LOUISIANA TOO they haven’t as far as I’ve seen every tree was cut by a neighbor every road cleared by people like me we cut people out their homes and walked people who are stranded into safe shelters yet I still deal with this situation regularly it’s apart of living here we can save lives because we can survive things like this we literally grew up running into hurricanes every year because it’s Louisiana it’s half destroyed every storm we just know how to rebuild and survive apparently offer states don’t know what weather is Louisiana has a massive advantage the average Louisiana resident is better then most emergency response teams that are from NY and scared shitless

The state and local government should’ve had plans and preparation. The federal government is secondary assistance. Here goes the blame on the president as always. FEMA can only do so much with this wide spread impact. It’s sad there isn’t a magic wand to fix everything right away.

Every hurricane always moves inland to the center of the country then east. There is no reason for this. Americans have to make up their minds about the government. One minute they say stay out of their business but on the other hand they want to blame the government when the government does just that. Let the states handle their business. I dont care if a hurricane come my way, my family gets prepared every time for disaster. Every Time. I keep 11 cases of water, plenty of non perishables, food, medical supplies, utilities, security supplies. People have to be more serious about their livelihood. Mother nature does not play or take prisoners.
