So why were you told not to film? Were you using a smartphone to record and did the flight attendant think it was not in airplane mode?
I once came across a gate agent at Dallas Fort Worth threatening passengers who were filming airplanes from the boarding area.

I use several different GoPros to capture my footage. Seeing as how I had two legs on this aircraft with the same crew I knew better not to tempt fate by asking for a reason and risk being removed by an FA on a power trip midway through my itinerary. I have the utmost respect for cabin crews but sometimes I do believe they have too much inconsistent authority by making up rules on the fly. As for your incident at DFW, that’s absurd.

Wow, that's almost unheard of being told to stop filming. I wonder what the issue with the FA was.

Yeah, 250 flights in the last 5 years and that was the first time I’d been confronted about it. We were passing over the San Luis Reservoir, so about 13 minutes from landing, they were doing the final cleanup/walk through.

I seriously thought about it, but didn't want to press the issue, especially given the fact that it was the first of two flight segments with that crew and I absolutely needed to get to my destination by a certain time. I didn't want to give them the opportunity to try and skew the situation or blow it out of proportion. it was unfortunate too, it was a gorgeous approach and landing.
