Thanks for this, good, accurate explanations, I currently live in WA (central) and have relatives in ID (some in northern ID, some in Boise) and I enjoy visiting often. The thing I like about the CDA area is that it sort of has the beat of both worlds because Spokane is so close. In my observations, ID takes better care of things, the esthetic is more pleasing whereas WA has a “let it be natural” vibe.
You forget one thing: We (WA) has better coffee! 😁

That's pretty astute and well said. But I'm not sure about the coffee part. I worked in coffee in my late teens and early twenties and that Doma coffee was pretty bomb. Unfortunately, I found out I am allergic to Caffeine so coffee isn't something on my mind anymore.

I grew up in King County, got deployed (as a reservist) and came home with a job lined up in Maryland. Went out there for 8 years. When my wife was pregnant with our first we decided to move back out this way to be closer to family. Most of my side had moved to Spokane/Cheney. We surprised my dad by showing up to his birthday party, and told him we had moved to the area to be closer to family. He was excited, but a bit confused, as a remote worker I could live anywhere, so why Post Falls if we wanted to be closer to family? I told I wanted to be closer, but that I want to be "on the right side of the state line." He immediately understood. That was about 9 months both the COVID lock downs started. Ever since then, we refer to WA as "hostile territory" whenever we go over to visit.

If Idaho is ever able to elect an actual conservative governor, house and senate, Coeur d’Alene and all of Idaho will be so much nicer than it is today…..Washington State is a political disaster of grand scale and The People are paying the price.

Living in Idaho was amazing. Particularly during COVID restrictions. But Idaho does have it's negatives. Biggest for me being state taxes. My dad died, and while I lived in Idaho, my sister's lived in WA. I had to pay $17,000 in taxes from that ordeal that my sisters simply didn't have to pay. That was an expensive price for a bit more freedom.

Move to Idaho. Welcome to high taxes. Talk to any accountant, taxes are through the roof. Definitely, do not setup up LLC/corp here.
I live “by” CDA. My home $450k in 2019 is now $1.5 million. The assessed value tripled. Hello taxes.
Oh, snow and long winters with super short shoulder seasons in Idaho. Better like that.
The Homeless: most Idaho cities send their homeless to bigger cities to Spokane because they have the “infrastructure.”
CDA is a mess when it comes to traffic. It’s getting worse with no infrastructure to expand.
women’s health. OBGYN’s are leaving the state because the new laws are so unclear. Good luck getting a simple checkup laddies. If you’re pregnant and need monthly checkups, you’ll be driving and delivering your baby is Spokane soon.
Public education absolutely sucks in Idaho. Better pay up for private school. The state subsidies only cover so much.
Last, Spokane like any big city, has really nice areas. To get to the outdoors (mountain biking, hiking, off-road, fishing, hunting) is not that far away. This guy is absolutely biased. Also, this guy is obviously a licensed broker in Idaho getting that 3% off that $1 million+ dollar home.
