Guruji namaskar.. Sir aap ko aap k Guruji ka ashirwad Mila hai .aur aap ka ashirwad hame chahiye ... thanks for sharing a beautiful video ... Sir aur bhi video upload kariye please.... thanks very much sir
Aditya, thank you so much for posting this. It's quite a coincidence that I was actually practicing this kaida today during my riyaz. I learned this kaida from my Guruji Dr. Narendra Verma who was also a disciple of Ustad Allah Rakha. The variations I was taught are a bit different. I liked the variations you played. Dino
It's common problem every beginner faces. That's why they say if you learn to play tirkit well, you have learned 50% of tabla. Well as many in this comment thread suggested, work on slower tempos and produce fine quality bols, and slowly increase the speed. There are actually muscle-brain dynamics into play here. The more practice we do, our hands will become less stiff and then the brain also starts pushing those bols into subconscious memory. This particular kayda that guruji is demonstrating here is an excellent practice for tirkit. You need to play it daily for 30 minutes at least and use a Lehra app on your phone to increase speed. Again, the stiffness in the hands also varies in morning, afternoon, and evening. What is important is you play tirkit well, not a feeble-sounding one. Guruji's tirkit sounds amazing and you should aim to emulate that kind of sound and pattern. All the very best!
Pls can the video focus on your hand movements. It's at an angle with the mic in the way. It's very difficult to see the hand position which is important here.
Adytia Ji I am based in Lahore and I have very respects for Abba Ji as I have learnt some compositions from him over phone. The qaida you are playing is of course very famous and Abba Ji used to play it very beautifully. You are also playing good. But with sincere apologies I would request you to listen yourself carefully when you play in drut . As I am seeing and listening you play 'ta ti ta ke ti na ke na" instead of " dha ti dha ge ,,,,,,,,,,,,,," If I am right then it is against the principle of playing Qaida. Qaida is an arabic word which means "Discipline, principal" and as I understand when Tabla player plays Qaida the bols which are played in vilambit cannot be changed in drut. Excuse me.

Are there more videos like this online? Like pay per video rather than paying for online face to face lessons?
