I have been friends with Linda Blair since '78. She's a remarkable person now dedicated to animal welfare. She told me making both films was hellish for her - but she LOVED making REPOSESSED with Leslie Neilson. On the second one, Richard Burton was drunk the entire time!
Late to the party but had to say, I got to hear Paul Schrader discuss this film for two hours when my school's film club (the Academy of Art University) showed both films, one on Friday and one on Sunday, and dissected the whole bizarre story, with Schrader then watching his film along with us for a portion of it. As an armchair filmmaker (I have a single IMDB credit for set design) i was fascinated, and i'll listen to stories about this situation whenever i come across them.
I never understood using CGI, Like the thing reboot costs 30 times more to look less good. Mixing it up with Practical Effects vs CGI did work such as LOTR. Petting a CGI dog 30.000$ so I think it is best to go Practical Effects unless you have no choice are the cost is higher than CGI. Also they can get so into CGI it becomes a tech demo.
I did think CGI would get cheaper and easier to use to the point the avg person could do CGI in their RUclips vids. Such as some teens did CGI green screen with their car on early RUclips in a vid of them driving in front of a 747 as it takes off over their car. The FBI was searching every airport to find them not seeing it was cgi.
@@ItWasAShtShowby the way I went searching for the two prequel on youtube and i found this pretty interesting trailer called Exorcist Vengeance( 2022 ), it had a look alike Charles Bronson priest and he carried a gun 😀😀
Personally, I found myself enjoy The Beginning more than Dominion, it's a lot more engaging and the action scenes are actually fine enough for me. Plus, the lady doctor in The Beginning a lot cuter and hotter than the one in Dominion.
I know I am not alone when I say WTF, guys? The current generation has no concept of what it was like to go to a movie theatre and surrender yourself to a film experience. No PAUSE - no REWIND - no checking your email. You sat in the dark and experienced the film with hundreds of strangers sharing (for good or bad) the emotional ride of the film. Aside from the fact that the filmmaking was groundbreaking and shocking for its time -- you have been exposed to 50 years of copycats, parodies and overexposure of THE EXORCIST. Of course, it's far from perfect, but I think it holds up better than most films from the period. As film fans, I wish you could muster a lot more objectivity about a film that remains a classic for many reasons. Yes, it's of its time. THE MOVIE WAS MADE 50 YEARS AGO - at least take that into account. It was something Hollywood has since forgotten how to make - an original movie.
So? We are entitled to have a negative opinion on a film you like. It has nothing to do with being distracted or lack of film literacy. To us, the movie is boring. Don't "current generation" us. That's extremely condescending.
“Director Renny Harlin” is factually accurate, but still an oxymoron.
Gotta be the best podcast about a movie I’ve never though of watching
Now knowing I don’t need too thanks
They're both godawful.

Lots of lunches !
Great podcast. Cat people (1982 ) was released a long time before Auto Focus ( 2002)
Still a good conversation.
Sly Snootles in Return of the Jedi: Special Edition was better CGI than the hyenas.
Thanks for the video. I never knew they had a prequel before until today. Gonna watch this later hopefully it won't disappoint me 😃😃
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh... yes, totally not disappointing...

The Exorcism of @@terrym120 would also be a great Box Office hit 👌
I know who Dog Fashion Disco are but I never knew there was an Exorcist prequel 😆
The greatest films ever made
I know I am not alone when I say WTF, guys?

This was really funny!
Lol
I await the pre-prequel prequel.
“Lucifer!” by Black Hibiscus
What are you talking about?
Two terrible movies for the price of four.
I thought you might like this tribute to Burt Lancaster by Frankenheimer, who worked a lot with Lancaster: ruclips.net/video/Vgm47U_TVwk/видео.html
Ohno
So these two movies are the Spider-Man pointing meme, but so much worse and less charismatic.
The nazi guy was Dutch, not Irish :) the point about the accent stands though
This was 2004 for Christ’s sake! Jurassic Park came out 11 years earlier & had cgi 100 times better than this crap!
Either you be respectful towards the films or don't do podcast on them.
Hahahaha! Ok Fox News!
