    So....
    If you motorized this, and the motors were connected to an amp so the louder the music the faster they spun, you could get a pretty cool visual. Especially with two.
    I guess you'd have to refill after each song.

  • @tjpld
    @tjpld 10 лет назад +2

    Is this really ethanol? Ethanol should give you a almost colorless blueish flame.

    • @Klavinmour
      @Klavinmour 10 лет назад +3

      If you are just burning it normally yes, but here you are mixing it with a lot of air and stretching the flame out while making it spin.
      The normal rules don't exactly apply.

  • @mily6664
    @mily6664 9 лет назад

    does the ethanol have a reaction with getting lit on fire because the flame looks white instead of fire.

    • @jigsawnillo1993
      @jigsawnillo1993 9 лет назад

      You can do this with any "type" of fire. Ethanol should make a "regular" flame. Though you can add different things to your fire to give it different colors.
      Copper Chloride = blue flame
      Borax = light green flame
      Copper Sulfate = Green flame
      Strontium Chloride = Red Flame
      Magnesium Sulfate = White flame
      And so on

    • @seigeengine
      @seigeengine 9 лет назад

      +Snowy cserpent It looks white because fire is really bright and the camera doesn't work like your eye. Cameras generally try to keep range in the lows, so the highs get washed out to white when it can see them.

    • @horsesandsmilesable

      I wouldn't think so, because the fuel has to sit in the container, held by gravity.

    Is the cage doing anything or is it just for safety?

    • @franzmgaming
      @franzmgaming 10 лет назад

      I think it's for locking air inside.

    • @Xonk61
      @Xonk61 6 лет назад

      I suspect that the vertical wires in the cage create a turbulence that causes the spiraling motion inside the cage. The heat of the flame draws it upwards. It would have been interesting to have that question answered in the video

    • @Darkassassin09
      @Darkassassin09 10 лет назад

      *faccepalm* it is captured at 210 fps, and played back at 60 fps to slow it down, if you played it back at 210fps it would be normal speed. (also you cant see a noticeable difference between fps over 70)

    • @xeroinfinity

      i think its what makes the fire spiral. yet it seems the flames rotates in the opposite direction... very cool though

    • @TLKJS
      @TLKJS 10 лет назад +1

      Either it's for accepting and releasing air but still carrying enough of it to rotate what's inside of it, or it's so they don't burn themselves. Or both. Doing this without the screen may get you a tall-ass, out of control ethanol fire and nothing to control it with.

    • @angelofmalice0
      @angelofmalice0 10 лет назад +3

      Putting a mesh around the fire like that turns it into a Davy lamp in essence, it stop the flame from going any further than the confines of the cage irrespective of the fuel air mixture outside of the cage.
