Rob Arnold Apparently, they do have largemouth in Cleveland. 🙃😉 Lets go get on ‘em. They eatin’ in Texas. Another solid episode full of metal knowledge. The Hetfield story was dope. 👊🏼💪🏼🤘🏼🔥
M CH - It’s my second favorite Chimaira album behind Resurrection. I just love how different sounding it is compared to the previous three albums (and I love the previous three albums). I love the slower tempos and crushing riffs. Can’t get much heavier than that middle section of Disappearing Sun and the main/intro riff in Try to Survive. Plus, The Heart of it All may be my all time favorite Chimaira song. Would’ve loved to see them play that live. Rob, you’ve got to do a playthrough video of that song!
@@jeremyv3010 : The Infection is also my 2nd favorite Chimaira album. Self-titled being my favorite. The Infection has so much groove though and the way Mark recorded his vocals make it stand out for me. Infection is such a unique Chimaira album.
BrokenFaced Clown - It’s my #1 of all time. It helped me so much in developing my metal chops on guitar. Six, The Flame, Black Heart, Needle, and Empire. Such fun songs to play.
Good that at least something was said about Roadrunner, I was waiting for a long time about any comment/retrospection about the label... A lot more positive than what I expected.. I still remember Mark Hunter's reaction at the Graspop signing booth in 2007 (when asking about the RR United song 'The Enemy') , and I did feel a bit of anger in his answer, something I still wonder about.... Maybe the general downfall of RR began way after 2007 then ??? Btw that canary yellow guitar = \,,/
Dude! I love your honesty about all topics. I feel like many too many people in the public spotlight give PC or cliche answers. You can read the honest emotion in your body language. This is what the true fans love! Great video Rob! Can’t believe you have that picture of us back in the day.
13.42 the truth: Total Chaos is the hard earned pay of the heavy metal warrior!! ;) I lived an experience like yours in a backstage here in Italy where the mighty Joey Jordison was playin' with Murderdolls....he wasn't that happy...but for us was a very special day and I couldn't resist!! I approached an angry Joey....but when I talked and gave him a true rarity to autograph ( I had with me knowing the Dolls wete too at this fest) I said a sincere, simple YOU RE THE BEST....then out of NOWHERE he smiled and said: "NO, YOU ARE THE BEST." :') GREAT MEMORIES.
Rob Arnold Apparently, they do have largemouth in Cleveland. 🙃😉 Lets go get on ‘em. They eatin’ in Texas. Another solid episode full of metal knowledge. The Hetfield story was dope. 👊🏼💪🏼🤘🏼🔥
Great video again Rob. I met the guys in Metallica back in October 2017 myself when I saw them live in Glasgow. Coolest guys, got a lot of precious signed rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia
That Nonpoint flour story is wild. I can only imagine how bad that must’ve been! Cool you got to hang with a Metallica for a bit out download, weren’t they like a secret guest or something that year?
Loved Matt Flinders’s contribution on this video and of course appreciated the video and your time, Rob. Adding to Matt’s question and your response, Mike Franco and I saw Chimaira’s first live playing of the track, “Empire”, and we lit up like a Christmas tree! Forget the venue but it was in Manhattan shortly after Resurrection dropped. One of our favorite Chimaira moments!
Rob Arnold The ever so slight riff differentiation from intro to late in the song always threw me off when I learned and replicated it, ya damn wrench in my playing! A true Chimaira favorite of mine. And how the album preceded that with Needle? Best album “conclusion” regardless of genre I’ve ever heard. PS: “Six” is one of my two favorite songs of all-time.
The energy on resurrection is definitely contagious, this might be my favorite Chimaira album along the self-titled ! Also, I love how you take your time to answer the questions in such detailed manner! Cheers Rob and happy new year!
Kick Ass Rob!!!😎!!! Jammed with you guys at the woodshock music festival in 2005 in Belfountain Ohio......and at the Blue Cat!! ( you guys blew the PA😄) Haha!! Always loved your guy's music!! It's awesome to watch your channel and hear all of your bad ass stories!! Keep on kicking ass and inspiring people to follow their hearts and dreams😎😎😎
So nice to see you back after the holidays Rob. I did get to see you family photo on Facebook. I to got the chance to meet Metallica at the end of the black album UK tour in London. There all really cool guys and I will never forget that night (92). I'm not to sure if I have already told about this, but I have a group page on Facebook called Chimaira fans world wide. and ever episode that you have done so far as been shared on the group page. Just to end for now Happy 40th Birthday. So I will look forward to the next episode of "Everything you love"
Your always welcome Rob. The group page isn't that big at the moment, but I'm trying my best to get it up and running with many new members. Should have the time, then please check it out.
ahhahahah Awesome man. That was the pic I was talking about. Crazy how far you have come since that guitar when we were 8. I am surprised you remember that Harmony guitar and amp combo I got from JC Penny lol. Always been proud of you man.
Awesome video as always. Love how you can talk so honestly about your thoughts towards Roadrunner back in the day and how you view that time differently now. I remember a lot of bands at that time were leaving Roadrunner around the same time. Glad it didn't slow you guys down. Still put out some kick ass records.
Rob you're a big inspiration on me man. I'm back playing again after a long long break. Used to jam back in high school, I'm 42 now. It's a frustrating process at times but when I play one of your badass riffs correctly it makes it all worth it. Thanks for writing such amazing music brother. 🤘
Awesome as always rob, love it when you just pull out a guitar and jam some riffs. That flour story had me laughing but must have been soooo awkward hah
Loved the stories in this one Rob! Your lucky to still have your first guitar. I could kick myself in the ass for some of the ones i got rid of back in the day haha!
I believe the first time I saw you guys was in Atlanta when I was driving back to NC from Florida for the Marines and you opened for Slipknot on the Vol 3 tour. Hadn’t heard your music yet but bought a copy of Impossibly of reason from Best Buy the next day you impressed me that much with your show 🤘
This was my favorite episode! The OG guitar was cool! Liked the playing live again pass out comment! I'm gonna jam some chimaira tomorrow at work! Thanks for the positive vibes and inspiration🤘😎 🐐💯
I’m response to the set list question, I’ll never forget when you guys opened with Implements of Destruction in Milwaukee in 2005. Blew my fuckin mind 😂🤘
Talking about The Infection. That album for me is special. You guys were on tour with Disturbed at the time and in my hometown. You played in Bridgeport CT. Harbor yard arena. And on the Coming Alive DVD you have footage going into the Hawley Lane mall Best Buy to get it. Damm I'm always there. I would have loved to be there when you guys walked in. Nonetheless what a killer show
Love the channel rob! Love finding out chimaira Behind the scenes. And rob arnold future. Where do i go to ask a question. Or ill just ask and see if it makes it on. Q: do you write or ever come up with acoustic songs or ever plan to release some acoustic stuff?
So cool to hear that snippet about The Infection, I’ve always been drawn to that albums darkness. It’s just got its own vibe that I can’t quite identify, but if you spend a few dark and drawn out winters in an old half deserted coal mining town in the rust belt, you can understand the type of darkness and seclusion I’m talking about. If I were to somehow write an album, I’d imagine it would draw heavily from The Infection. Edit: heard Rob name his 3 fav albums/songs. I literally matched each album.. did not match each song, but that made my jaw drop 😂
Hey Rob, how did Phil Bozeman come to be featured on a Chimaira album? Any funny/cool stories to tell on how that came to fruition? Both Chimaira and Whitechapel are two of my favorite bands and were my biggest influences when I had gotten into guitar/vocals. Loving the content and glad to be a patreon supporter!
Awesome Todd! We became good friends with the Whitechapel guys while out on the road over the years, and just thought it would be cool to have Phil come and lay something down on our new record at the time. We showed him the part, he spent a half hour or so working out some ideas on his own, then he stepped into the vocal booth, and ripped that verse you hear on the first take! We all just busted out laughing because it was so awesome and PERFECT! 🤘🤘🤘 And THANKS for your support bro!👊
Love Metallica too.... wow you still got your first guitar... looks like a kahler tremble systems... my first guitar was a copy of a copy of a SG guitar for like 60 dollars... I put in a 75 dollar pickup in it... One guitar I wished I kept was a Jackson Soloist Custom it was a beautiful guitar with neck thru shark tooth inlays black hardware with a kahler.
I got to meet newstead on that same tour mark referred to. I remember voivod getting alot of coverage on that tour. He was doing a t.v. interview out in the open and was letting fans come rite up to him afterward. Ozzfest....impossibility time period.
Your self titled album is my personal favorite, and there wasn't near enough marketing done for that album. I found out about it because I just happened to walk into the record store one day. I don't blame you for initially feeling like they didn't do enough for you guys, but like you said, sometimes you just have to let things breathe.
I found out about Chimaira through their Nothing Remains music video on the mtv2 website, there was no youtube in that time, for metal music video's I went to this amazing metal video channel on that website, it had interviews and discussions in between and the vj was Jamey Jasta from Hatebreed Was this video channel called MTV Headbanger's Ball maybe ?? Late night on MTV you had a metal video hour, can't remember the name.... Hard Zone or something ???? But that was mostly Slayer, Slipknot, Tool and Rammstein... I do remember discovering Illdisposed through this program!!!!!! Wtf!
Hi, Rob! Super interesting stuff... as always! How about Matt? All good? Still in touch? And playing super riffs? Watched the previous episode too. Kevin is an awesome guy and an incredible drummer... He made a perfect work on Chimaira; My favorite one.
heyy man.Thaaanx for another cooool video .That is soooo awesome that you still have your first guitar. Is it just me..or does it kinda look like a "Kramer" guitar?Happy new year by the way :) Greetings from the NorwegianDrummerViking, Stefan :)
Here's a question for you Rob. You guys got back together for a one off show a couple of years back? How was it? Was it different not having Andols behind the kit? Are you guys gonna do more one off shows and take it from there? (So glad I saw you guys in Scotland a number of years back on The Infection tour when you supported Trivium, one of my favourite gigs to date). Take it easy. Mick.
I was into the new metal thing back then but I remember when passed out popped up, it was so different and heavy. Alot of newer metal and even death metal was kinda all generic and fit a formula. Passed out was all the double bass, break downs, down tune, best of both worlds kinda sound. I'll never forget that record. I wore a hole in that album back then....and sometimes today.
Hey Rob - cool video and awesome stories - thanks for sharing! What do you think makes a timeless sounding record? It’s hard to believe some of the Chimaira material is 15+ years old. While each album is unique, I feel like each one could be released right now and wouldn’t sound out of place. Do you think it’s the production quality, the material, or just metal in general?
Prank story was crazy. Last few months of HS sr year, my friends covered my car in flour, then glad wrapped the entire car. Took me hours to unwrap it and clean it before I could go home. I was usually the last to leave on certain days so no one was around and I was stuck doing it by myself. Was furious lol
Hey rob if you had to choose two of your fovorite solos to play what would they be, one from the chimaira cataloge and just your favourite in general? Personally i love the solo from save ourselves🤘🤘 keep up the good work rob greetings from tasmania
Hi Rob ! Greetings from France ! First of all, let me say that you're a hell of an inspiration, your style alongside Matt killer rythm riffs had a great influence on my playing while practicing during my teenage years ! Thanks for that ! I received my own copy of The Disaster last December and enjoy every second of it. Being used to listen heavy stuff from you since day one, The Healing Process is a quite refreshing. Could you tell us more about about your rig configuration for this record please (guitar pickups / amps, etc..) ? I jam over it from time to time and was first using guitars loaded with EMG81 but those seem to be too heavy toned compared to your tone on the record. Since I use my guitar loaded with an EMG 57, the sounds fits more the tone you're using. Since it is a complete different type of sound you use on this record, it would be very interesting to know. Thanks !
Right on man! Glad you dig the album! My sound for this record was made up from an ESP GL-56, with Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates. I used a couple different Waves GTR AMP configurations in the box for my amp tone, and went with drop D tuning for this record. Again, I'm so glad to hear you're digging it! Cheers man! 🤘
@@RobArnoldWorld Thanks ! I really appreciate you took the time to answer my question. I didn't realized your vintage ESP was the George Lynch signature model. It seems like you customized it to get rid of the single coils :) By the way, playthrough videos of The Elite and The Disaster would be awesome ;)
Epic content as always. Quick question about gear, I saw what I think was an ESP or LTD signature of yours, a while ago, with a passive pickup, I always wondered what it was, because I've always took you for an EMG guy. Do you ever experiment with pickups? Or do you think you've found your tone with EMG? Same could be said for amps and cabs. Any gear what's interested you, over the last year or so?
Impossibility of reason was by far my favorite album. When it comes to guitar tone, it still has one the best ever! Would you please tell me what was the gear you and Matt used? My guess would be an LTD M1000 guitar, with peavey 5150 block and celestion v30s. Can you confirm? Thanks
@@RobArnoldWorld Thank you Arnold. Also would like to take this oportunity to say that you and chimaira were a huge inspiration to me when i started playing guitar back in the days. Thank you for taking your time ro reply me
What's your thought process like when writing a guitar solo? A lot of my favorite solos come from the self title. The guitar solos in Salvation and Bloodlust are some of my all time favorites. Im also curious to know which one of your own solos is you're favorite to play and or proud of?
Hey Rob, I was wondering on the topic of Metallica, if you ever kept the Metallica hat that I wrote on at a show in Portland Maine with Kevin Talley playing drums. I wrote "Rob, you are the next hammett". I remember the show vividly as it was insane and perfect
You totally have my eyes and ears in your channel. I have been playing guitar and bass since I was 15, and I'm 38 now. One of my hands started the show with severed being our soundcheck song. One of my favorites is "Salvation". That whole album was amazing. Of course you can't forget "Power trip" and "Year of the snake" I can list more but, you know how f****** awesome you guys used to be as a group and still kicking ass in your endeavors outside.
@@RobArnoldWorld Riff Arnold, is it possible to do a video play through of The Flame from Resurrection? Just that breakdown in the middle of the song is thee absaloute tits! P.s, Are you a fan of Testament? Latest album is a fecking delight. Thank you kindly. The Professor!
I've commented before on how unique your solos are. Unlike most guitarists, it feels like you write them with a purpose instead of trying to be flashy or just to show off. What allowed you to approach them differently? Was there a particular artist that got you to write them from that perspective?
Hey Rob! I’ve been watching all your past videos! I’m addicted! 😆 please tell me you enjoyed st anger from Metallica! There’s a lot of flaws on that record but man I still jam it to this day! The riffs on that album are dope!! What do you think of that album? Or are you one of them people who absolutely hate it?
Yo Jose! Glad to hear you're here and heading down the rabbit hole!👊 Unfortunately I think the Black Album is the last GREAT record Metallica made. I Like a few songs from the Loads, but NOTHING after that!
@@RobArnoldWorld hahaha yeah I absolutely love hearing all these stories and watching you cover chimaira songs. I also loved watching the new studio come together. I hope you record the new chimaira album there if y’all ever decide to get back together for a new album. Hopefully you give us a really heavy album! Take care!
Hey, Rob. I love the sound of The Elite stuff and also a longtime Chimaira fan. Would you be interested in recording or possibly mixing an ep from my band? If so, how do I contact you for info and rates? Thanks
Hey man . So I've been dying to know .. as a guitarist and someone who is not only a fan but shares the same name lol .. where did your inspiration come from for all your instrumentals on the albums .. they are all amazingly awesome , the heart of it all being my personal favorite , but stoma seems so dark and different from the rest . Any particular reason or was it just trying something new ?
Pass Out of Existence is a fucking killer album. It kinda bums me out that most of y'all seem negative when commenting on it. I'll take a fat ass groove over thrash any day.
Thanks for another awesome episode Rob, you're killing it! Man if MachineHead ended up picking you up as their second guitarist I'd probably die of excitement, I could see your sounds and ear for groove playing so well off each other. Fingers crossed one day!! Also the infection is still an incredible album, I doubt more than a month has gone by since it's release where I haven't listened to The Disappearing Sun at least once.

@@Machinedead yep that was Headbanger's Ball. That was really the only way I found out about a lot of the bands I listened too back then.
Headbanger's ball ruled!
Used to jam Cleansation with my drummer bud back in 05. What a tune and album! Total 00s classic. What were your favourite bands from the mid 00s era?
Hi, Rob! Super interesting stuff... as always!
How about Matt? All good? Still in touch? And playing super riffs?
Watched the previous episode too. Kevin is an awesome guy and an incredible drummer... He made a perfect work on Chimaira; My favorite one.
I hope Matt's still jamming! I hear he's got a new project coming out! I'll have to hit him up and have in on the show!🤘
@@RobArnoldWorld That's great, brother!
So, see You soon... and thanks!
heyy man.Thaaanx for another cooool video .That is soooo awesome that you still have your first guitar. Is it just me..or does it kinda look like a "Kramer" guitar?Happy new year by the way :) Greetings from the NorwegianDrummerViking, Stefan :)
I agree about it looking kind of like a Kramer!
Self titled album, nothing remains! #1 that song rips!
🤘
I'll never mess with flour again! 🤣
your first guitar looks fucking badass I would have played alot more if I started on that - Lucas
Word!🤘🎸
Hey rob if you had to choose two of your fovorite solos to play what would they be, one from the chimaira cataloge and just your favourite in general? Personally i love the solo from save ourselves🤘🤘 keep up the good work rob greetings from tasmania
Random question how did you guys come to cover The Cures Fasination Street? Great version by the way.
It seems like you customized it to get rid of the single coils :)
By the way, playthrough videos of The Elite and The Disaster would be awesome ;)
Coolest Metallica story ever...thanks for telling it
🤘
You played in Finland two times. 2007 at Provinssirock festival and 2009 at Nosturi club. Do you have any memories of Finland? Cheers from Finland!
I do have memories of Finland! Loved coming there, and playing there! Cheers! 🤘
Man… pass out was so good now
Awesome Episode as usual! m\/ \m/
Thanks Brother!🤘
Impossibility of reason was by far my favorite album. When it comes to guitar tone, it still has one the best ever! Would you please tell me what was the gear you and Matt used? My guess would be an LTD M1000 guitar, with peavey 5150 block and celestion v30s. Can you confirm? Thanks
Confirmed! Although I'm pretty sure the amps were 5150 II's. 🤘
@@RobArnoldWorld Thank you Arnold. Also would like to take this oportunity to say that you and chimaira were a huge inspiration to me when i started playing guitar back in the days. Thank you for taking your time ro reply me
Later chim.shows I remember a couple I attended u guys did this severed, older songs montage. Do u remember doing those passed out montages?
Like from way back in the day? Totally!
@@RobArnoldWorld one of the passes out montages I saw had talley on drums....it was unforgettable bro. Thanks
What's up dude! YES! I still have it!👊
So cool! I still think it too. I'm so pumped to be watching you and your former band mates kicking it telling stories.
@@jeremiahjacobs9176 Awesome bro! I appreciate you tuning in!
Rob what is your favorite Metallica album? I struggle between Master and Justice.
JUSTICE!
Flourpoint!
🤣
Yo Jose! Glad to hear you're here and heading down the rabbit hole!👊
Unfortunately I think the Black Album is the last GREAT record Metallica made.
Take care!

Most important question, do you have any extra RA-600s lying around and would you trade? Lol.
Great vids keep em coming man
I'd consider trading one for... five thousand bucks!💰 Glad you're digging the vids! Thanks for watching!🤘
Hey, Rob. I love the sound of The Elite stuff and also a longtime Chimaira fan. Would you be interested in recording or possibly mixing an ep from my band? If so, how do I contact you for info and rates? Thanks
Right on Kevin! DM me on one of the socials and we can talk about what you've got going on. 👌
What’s M.F.A. Up to these days? Is he also still doing music? You guys were one of the greatest guitar duos ever in my opinion
Thanks man! I'll find out!🤘
Rob Arnold hell yeah! I look forward to hearing what he’s been up to. Maybe itl be in the next everything I love lol
Do you edit your own videos? Thanks :)
I do! It's a one man show.
@@RobArnoldWorld Gotta say you do a great job! :)
Thanks man!
Metallica of course! The Call of Ktulu, Orion, To Live is to Die!
@@RobArnoldWorld figured as much lol but all your instrumentals surpass even those epic Metallica hits .. thx man .
Pass Out of Existence is a fucking killer album. It kinda bums me out that most of y'all seem negative when commenting on it. I'll take a fat ass groove over thrash any day.
🤘
The Infection rules
First like first comment. Wooo.
Do you have a favorite band that you toured with? What band, besides Metallica, do you wish you could have toured with?
I still love Pass Out Of Existence even though it is dated
True. It's too sample heavy, but still a great album though.
@@DavidS-kz7ik been listening to it again thanks to Rob's video and I still love it
скабля,замутіть переклад!)))))))
Hey master, make videos with less time (5 or 10 min). It is easier for us to watch. Vlogs, review, musical production and softwares
That's awesome man, and cheers! Vogg is holding it down super well for MH though imo!🤘
