I LOVED singular point. Liked how they managed to create tension and suspense without making any of the character act downright stupid or behave like mustache twirling villains.
I just took the science talk as star trek Mambo Jumbo. you do'nt need to understand the science to enjoy this show. Loved how they reintroduced Jet Jaguar in the franchise.

As an engineer, I was surprised that in Singular Point a lot of the math and algebra concepts were used accurately. But the biggest flaw of the series is that it tries to disguise a somewhat simple plot as a complex story by covering it in a lot of convoluted science.
Surprised that you didn't mention the iconic song of the anime.
Damn. So what could have been a fun show ended up being non-sensical for trying to seem too deep and smart
@@granmastersword Pretty much yeah. I like it, but maybe that is because I actually understood a lot of the terms used in the anime. For someone that doesn't have a background on college math or algebra, I can see how people would not like it.
@@RoyFokker93 It’s an understandable criticism, but at the same time, I’m glad that it tried something different.
The only other criticism that I don’t understand are Godzilla’s earlier forms being wasted potential redesigns for Titanosaurus, Varan and Gorosaurus. To me, I see that they’re nice tributes on those three since I highly doubt will ever see them again aside from something like comic books or video games
@@kinglittlecaesar9013 The issue is, that if you want to use complex subjets or terms,. You have to lay them out in a way people can comprehend them.
As an example, I knew nothing about baseball or volleyball. But I enjoyed Dia no Ace and Haikyu because of how the rules and plays were explained.
On a more direct comparisson, the anime Rikei ga Koi does a really good job explaining cientific methods and concepts in a simple and efective manner.

Perhaps Season 2 would improve things, which I’m still looking forward to.

Three is an adequate amount I would say, jobby. Some people say three isn't enough but I personally think that three is a great size/quantity

Out of all 3 of these, I definitely wanna get Gigan. Final Wars Gigan’s design is so damn good.
For me, I'm getting the singular pount Godzilla (If I can afford it). The proportions and articulations is subjectively my favourite among other sh monsterarts I've seen so far. It's a shame about the lack of accessories though (and the jet jaguar minifigures doesn't help, since they may or may not inflate the price).
That is an edgy look only gigan can pull off

I felt the exact same way after Singular point, I'd watched it, understood none of the physics, and forgot everything about it other than the kaiju designs.
This is why the stereotype why Asians are smarter than us exist.
And even if i haven't got to see it yet i just hope toho would actually take note on what there new attempt at a new Godzilla anime did right and wrong again and take note on who they hire and who they shouldn't hire for there Godzilla animes in the future

The fact that Jobby manage to fit 3 reviews in 24 minutes video is an amazing feat that many reviewer don't have
i enjoyed singular point at first oddly enough, it was great to see how much of a impact shin has made on current godzilla media as a whole. but then i watched it a second time and yeah, noticed how much of a convoluted tangled tapestry the plot was. gave me one of my favorite godzilla designs tho ngl
I enjoyed Singular Point. But yeah, the science stuff was a bit much. Though, in the end I thought the animation style was very well done. Also, the voice acting was very well done.
I didn't like the Mecha at first but seeing it in action made me fell in love with it, honestly a badass from design-wise to the battle style.
Yeah, it sorta grows on you. I think if the figure had some lit up, movable gears in it's chest and beam or two it would have been received better.
It’s probably the biggest departure from all previous Mecha G designs besides the one from the anime trilogy (we don’t talk about that), but it really grew on me over time
I like the idea/origin of it more so than the design.
Its like an amalgamation of ALL the Mechagojis.

I'm hoping for a more Kiryu-esque design if they ever decide to do Mecha-G in the Monsterverse again. I loved Godzilla vs Kong but I'm still disappointed that it's not a modern reinvention of Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla.
Kiryu was built from Godzilla bones. This is Ghidorah. Similar deal, yes, but ultimately it just wouldn't be the same. Kiryu isn't a knockoff Godzilla like GvK Mechagodzilla is. Kiryu IS, for all intents and purposes, a Godzilla.
What I want is for Ghidorah to regenerate someday and have parts of it's Mechagodzilla body horrifically integrated into it's new living flesh. _Monsterverse Mecha King Ghidorah!!_
MG had a way better design in the cameo it made in Ready Player One, actually inspired by the 90’s Noriyoshi Ohrai poster.

@@dagon1523 Nah, the difference is that Toho had influence on the first design, and recommended Jared base it off the poster design. But for the MV design he didn’t have much outside influence, aside from Transformers and Terminators.

I don't remember much from Godzilla vs Gigan,
(Not even how silly it was or the Godzilla theme park), all I remember was Gigan cutting up Goji and Angi and they were bleeding everywhere, and that left a GREAT impression on me as a child. (Oh, and Ghidorah was there too I guess.)

I'm glad Final Wars gets some love from Jobby. It's one of my guilty pleasure movies to watch when I'm in a Godzilla mood.
I don't have P.H.D in bullshit but I have watched enough Japanese sci-fi to understand what is going on. Also I loved it. One of the best sci-fi anime I have watched in while wasn't overly preachy or have bland and uninteresting characters. Reminded me a bit more of some of the stuff from the 80's.

Fun fact: The SP writer's backstory as a physicist also affected Godzilla's design as they went for some more biologically accurate features (while making him look like a cataclysmic creature). Like giving him chunkier legs taking into account how gravity would affect Godzilla's leg muscles, and shoulder and thigh platings inspired by rhinos. So that's the story behind this Godzilla's (Ultima specifically) thunder thighs with ass cheeks that clap like thunder.

Fun to finally have another Godzilla review
I liked the physics part of singular point, as the way the fictional science is portrayed makes it feel more realistic. And it being hard to understand on first viewing I think helps to show how Godzilla is and unexplainable and unstoppable force of nature that we can't completely comprehend

Though to be fair,Singular Point's ending credits is packed with easter eggs from the entire Godzilla franchise which was basically one of the best fanservice there is.
Very excited to see this video. Final wars Gigan is an amazing figure with all the accessories that come with him and the MonsterVerse Mechagodzilla is one of my favorite iterations of the character.
I still haven’t decided whether or not I like singular point yet so I’m still on the fence with him.
