Tom, appreciate you sharing the tour and your memories of the town. It really brings your excellent layout to life. I think you have been incredibly successful in capturing the spirit of the town at that time. Thank you.
@@patrickgawkins1176 Thank you Patrick. Although I haven’t lived in Chillicothe for over 40 years, it will always be my home and modeling it helps keep me connected to it. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and stay safe!
Hi Thom, For me this was an outstanding video in every respect. You have done a fantastic job of modeling the history of your memories. All the parts of your layout contribute to the whole which makes your model railroad great! Actually, watched the video multiple times. Has to be bittersweet when you go back. At our age, it is actually hard to comprehend all that has changed from when we were young. Thanks again for sharing again the inspirations for your layout. Stay safe and have a good week. Scott
@@kahunatiki6498 Scott, I appreciate your kind comments. As someone who models things that you remember, I thought you might like it. Yes, it is bittersweet seeing all that is gone. The construction of the overpass pretty much doomed the depot as it was out of sight for most people. Every time I go back, some old time business has closed. I hope your weekend has gone well and you were able to spend some time modeling the places that you remember. Have a great week and stay safe.
Hi Thom , it’s amazing how much things change in time. I think as modelers we try to freeze time. Thanks for giving us a tour of Chillicothe. Thanks for sharing. Have a good week. 😎😎 👍

Thank you for the walking tour of Chillicothe. It is interesting to see what is left of the area you model. The buildings you model give us the flavor of the business area even if they aren't 100% accurate, and we enjoy seeing them receiving rail service. Thank you for sharing.

Hello Thom, a journey into the past and present is always interesting when you have experienced it yourself. The NS freight trains and the CSX train with caboose are beautifully filmed. I like this caboose. The hall that you have recreated on your layout is great. Thanks for the video and kind regards. Wolfgang
@@wolfgangpfeilergartenbahnd6530 Good morning Wolfgang. Thank you for watching. I was lucky to see the short CSX train with the caboose. Enjoy the rest of your week and stay safe!
I took a walk over to your old place and up Sugar to the Main Street overpass. Then I dropped down to Watt St. by the Sciota Trustee building and looked at the fenced off siding, and then looked at the Cargill elevator where all the stub ended sidings are . Using maps and earth, of course.

Well, there's something I don't see in California - a coal drag! There is a UP (formerly SP) branch line running near my house, but mostly I see Caltrain using it plus the occasional UP local.
