Bayluv, so true bro, the boys hella funny, always makes , my day lol, watching there video. The best one, was eating sushi, an fijian lady , was the cook lol.
We Lauans don't only eat this for tea, but also as staple food to have with fish/greens/meat. Where we also use cassava flour (home made) most of the time as the islands are far from the mainland, so lack of supply for flour for the most parts of the year. The real taste of it comes from the more coconut you add in it. The burnt part (Qesa) is what we go for 1st as it has a crunch and a more smokey coconut aromatic taste and smell. Glad to see the influence of our Yatu Lau i Loma being shared around.

Luke and the brother Cama are quite knowledgeable with traditional cooking prepping the leaves is just next level, and while Uraia is quite a plastic cannot even lift finger just walking around buzzing away 😅😂😂😂😅just kidding awesome vlog and finally captured the kindest soul Mr Jekobe offering his coconut shell bread for his brother Uraia in the midst of everyone scooping the shells....priceless
For those of you who may be wondering, Moturiki is on the Eastern side of Fiji which gets more rain throughout the year 😊 Which is why the vegetation is much greener and lush than the Western side of the country
All good ideas come from a good grog session where the the boys brainstorm and give good ideas. Good suki also makes brainstorming good. Vinaka Luke for igniting this idea of cooking Pala Cama is like a master baker Qai liga ni vasu i Lau
In Samoa we name the Pala we called it Papa same way we make it and cooking love it and taste so good when it's still hot. Love watching them cooking the Pala and God bless you people...😢😊❤

Always rooting for these guys. I feel like what luke n tama made was similar to a Samoan Delicacy "FAAPAPA" Speaking as A half samoan/cookisland. I remember having pala as one of our snack back in one of the boarding schools in Tailevu😋👌was also part of a source of income..students use to make them during most weekends & sell it for a dollar. They normally use part of their pocket money to buy the ingredients, sell them to the boarding students & teachers as well n make more profit
I like how you guys are using the banana leaves instead of foil to put the pala in which is the traditional way, and it’s more organic. It also tastes way better than wrapping it with foil. Good job boys👍. Alofas from Texas 🇺🇸🇺🇸🤙🤙

Vinaka will be cool if you can talk about some of the history of Fiji when you go to some of the village (places) where history civilisation began because there’s lots of history between the island especially Tui Fiji and Samoa,,🙏🏼🙏🏼
Yes Ura get a tripod so u can be hands on with the boys. It’s been a year now😂😂😂. Thanks for the video. Always on the look out for you guys new uploads.
Vinaka Ura and the Moturiki boys, this is not for the daily substitute for bread in good normal days, but also in times of hurricanes and cyclones when our stable diet of taro, cassava, bananas were depleted by the cyclones. When it's time of plentiful, cassava, bananas taros can be scrape as a substitute for flour, pawpaw, pumpkins, even breadfruits so thanks Viliame, # your uncle don't wanna share 😀 😉 😂😂
It's the way we are due to humble beginnings living in the village where we're satisfied with what we have compared to the cities and towns rush hour demands. Also reflected in our upbringing too on the laid-back lifestyle seen all throughout the pacific.
Honestly it is getting annoying to see Uraia talking to much without doing anything Everyone can hold the camera but as Fijian people should put in the same amount of effort as other Cheers to Chef Luke
Mr Uraia Tabua has contributed enourmously to the recent fame of ordinary Village boys of Navuti in Motoruki.I know for sure his people do value Him for His contributions to his land.
Samoa has this called “Fa’apāpā” or simply “pāpā”. Same principle only we use the coconut juice and fresh squeezed coconut milk instead of the coconut meat. Them things are so addictive perfect for any time of the day and best with tea or coffee. Try making another sweet option with added grated ripe bananas called “Oloolo”. It’s a banana bread twist baked in the underground oven, lovo. Great video boys. Thanks Luke and the big brother for keeping it alive.
