OMG!! After years of singing, why hasn't anybody ever told me this? I've been through a lot of vocal coaches. This works! And you make it so simple to understand and do! The wind instrument analogy is perfect. I completely "got" it. It seems so obvious now!
Love your teaching style! You make complex concepts so accessible and easy to understand. Balancing airflow and cord function is a good takeaway from the lesson. Your tips on feeling the high note first really work! Thank you 🙂
Thanks for sharing how to sing higher notes using the cry mode techniques when we begin to constrict in our singing voice. Indeed it has helped us to reach higher voices and extend our limited vocal range of music notes from C5 D5 E5 etc ... .
I'm a baritone that can go from an E/F2 to a C5 in a good day and would like to get some advice on how to hit the first note in verses correctly, normally i tend to hit the first one too strong and then adjust the rest but that first note i hit it not only with too much power but also too much volume sometimes
Practice with a balanced onset, where you don't overload the vocal cords with too much breath pressure and volume. Try to find a clean, balanced note attack. Also, master singing at a lighter, medium dynamic. If you start with too much volume and keep looking for relief, you will remain frustrated. If however, you find balance and consistency and stamina from the lighter dynamic, then more volume can eventually be applied freely and easily. That's the correct way to build your technique.

Kurt please make a video on whistle register/notes and exercises to establish them well in singing
