Hi, just so you know, I am a 36 year old native american male from south texas. And I have listened to AFI every day since 2000. I memorized the lyrics to every song and sang along to every song. AFI blew my mind and changed my life forever. And I have always thought that AFI is the #1 rock band in the U.S.A.
@@hollymullins7615 Hi Holly, my name is Cesar Pesina. I am happy you replied to my comment on this video. I don't know quite how to reply, so I'll just be straight forward. I am a person who has never really had any friends. I would like to know if you would like to chat. Ok. Bye.
sorry to use stan language on one of the greatest bands ever but this was actually A TOTAL BOP! Im admire how true to themselves they are. They dont conform to any social norms and dont follow trends just because it would make them more successful. Theyre just expressing themselves and if you think about it theyve been doing this since the beginning in their old punk days... honestly, this WOULD be considered punk in todays atmosphere. Theyre doing what theyve always done best!
Last time I listened to AFI, was in 06, when I bought their Decemberunderground album. Didn’t like it as much as Sing the Sorrow. So...I stopped listening to them. In my defense, I was 16 back then. My taste in music was transitioning into jazz and blues. Now here I am. My taste in music has...grown immensely. Songs that I didn’t like at first, I’m now enjoying. Its soo interesting comparing my music interests from 14 yrs ago, to now.
Im amazed with Dave's voice, it didnt change even after all these years, even from the first time I heard Miss Murder. Omg his voice brings back so many highschool memories. Thx so much, im just rediscovering the bands that i used to listened to, and so glad and happy you guys are still making music! 😩
Love this!! Video came out amazing, great job guys! Absolutely cannot wait until you all tour again. 🖤 So happy a video was made for this song. Absolutely fell in love with this song when I first heard it.
Hi, I just wanted to say, AFI has been my all-time favorite band since I was 15 years old (since 2000). And I think Davey is really smart with english and write the greatest lyrics. And Jade is the greatest rock guitarist. AFI has maybe over 100 songs and I have memorized the lyrics to every one of them. I have sung those songs all the time since I was a teenager. I used to listen to pop music until 1999, until I 1st heard AFI, and AFI's rock music blew my damn mind. I have always thought AFI is the #1 greatest rock band in the U.S.A. Ok. Bye.
Hi, I just love talking about AFI and I went to a concert in the year 2000. A warped tour concert in my hometown, Corpus Christi Texas. And AFI performed. And I enjoyed the show, but I hadnt yet memorized all the lyrics and all the songs. But I took pictures, and AFI was signing autographs, but I was too scared and embaressed to get one. (I was only 15). But I have always thought AFI is the greatest rock band of all time!
This striding, brooding track is built on the sparseness and simplicity of its drum groove and guitar riff. Guitarist Jade Puget, who produced "Get Dark" used most of the vocal takes from the very first time that Davey Havok sang the song, as well as using some of his guitar parts from when AFI were writing it. Davey Havok said in a press release: "From the initial performance and recording, it had a driving sense of forward movement and penetrating connection. The song's themes of deification and deference, self-loathing and vanity, captivation and release, damage and healing, are posed in a subtle invitation to those inherently compelled to accept."
AFI es la banda favorita de mi ex, desde antes de ser pareja me la enseño y me gustó bastante. Ahora que ya no existe ni una amistad entre ambos, me duele no tener a quién decirle que este vídeo es magnífico ...
Funny how this is less overproduced than sing the sorrow. It's actually quite the minimalist approach from a production standpoint, and I love the dirty drums at the start/ in the verses.
*Sees first 5 seconds of video*: This video is going to be weird. *Sees whole video till the end*: Yep. Weird. :) It’s good. Usually I’m not a fan of surrealism but AFI are one of the few who can pull it off.
I hope I can get into the Gate early enough to see you guys start the Show this Sunday at Blossom! Been a lot of delays getting into the Gate lately, Traffic, Parking, Gate inspections!
God, you don't realize how much you miss this style until it comes crashing back. Absolutely love it.
Cause this is what Art and music 🎶 are about AFI have always painted such wonderful worlds with their music and I’ve missed them so much
The bass lines are soooo good. They have always highlighted the bass sooo perfectly

that's AFI for you. awesome!
Hell yeah
You sound just like me! I'm 34, been listening to them since 2000 and I'm from Houston TX. 🤘💜

The boys are always delivering the best to us. 💖
Jadey Havok hi Isa
@@therunningxfree 😂Hi! best moon boy ever.
Band I've seen the most live. So good.
Been listening to old AFI classics and loving the last full album release which is good. Glad to hear new music from this awesome group!
Awesome song! The video has kinda got a "Twin Peaks Vibe" going on...especially near the end. -Davey 🔥🔥🔥
Welldone😃
Maybe, but I get a bit more of Clockwork Orange vibe
It almost has a Art of Drowning vibe to it. One of their older great albums in case the new fans don’t know. 👍🏻
Reminds me of the beginning and ending of Girls Not Grey
Ryan Johnson glad I’m not the only one who noticed!
I thought this too!
I thought the same thing when this song dropped
Same!
Beat me to it.. good times
Hell yea
I love it. Never thought we'd get a video!
I love it! The sound is changing again, I am so stoked for a new album!

Go back and listen to Crash Love . A perfect hard rock record
AFI always has great aesthetics.🔥🔥🌟💖👍👍

Something about this brings me back to Girls Not Grey.
Love the video!!!
One of the greatest bands ever! ♥ Kinda feeling those old days sound...
Get dark !!!!
This video is so high art! I'm so happy with their progress 😍😍

the missing man ep is pretty damn great best material released since Sing the sorrow
remember when we were all beautiful but since then we've lost our glow.
Good to see in an age of mainstream bands of the 2000s going pop, AFI went back to a more traditional sound. I dig it 😀
Davey ages in reverse
Not really, he looks as old as he ever has.
He's still beautiful!
No not at all lol. Wtf are you smoking.
he looks to be in mid 40s. how old is he suppose to be?
Wrong member, Jade's hair is unaging
My Loveeeee!!!!
this video is dark...🖤
They get dark haha
Iconic track! ...
This whole EP is so good. You boys keep dropping absolute bangers
Thus is new 2 me. Love it!
twin peaks!!

aw, the boys are growing up... enjoying this new AFI so far. upbeat musical progression with ominous haunting lyrics? love it
Thanks for existing AFI!!!!!
LONG LIVE AFI
really cool guitar solo
Hermoso saber que AFI no se fue al lado oscuro del pop o del reggaeton y siguen siendo tan autenticos como siempre
Yess ♡♡♡
Instant Classic 🔥
The actors are all asking themselves, "WTF are we doing"?
Una banda que sigue haciendo música después de tantos años, eso es memorable. (y)
The set design and photography are beautiful! :D
This is the water. And this is the well. Drink full and descend.
thx for your music

Amazing
I love videoclips of AFI
😎
Everytime I hear The Clash's "Lost in the Supermarket" I think: "Dammit! Davey's voice would be a perfect fit in this song..."
Make it happen!
I'll take it, but I will always miss old school AFI
Digging on this song hard. The video is cool too. Has a 90s feel to it in a good way.
80s?
They can truly do no wrong. #getdark forever and a day
Classic AFI. LOVE IT! That chorus is just... fantastic!

Davey is a very beautiful man! :)
@@enjoyerofsilence shhh hes still 21 like us all plus tax and shipping and handling!!
Yes, he is. 💕
Probably not a man at all.
@@enjoyerofsilence that's because of their incest corrupted blood and lack of readl talent anymore. Don't let em near your kids
AHHH- I miss his more emo look :B

Can't get better than this, can they?
Oh yeah AFI back
Reminds me of Gattaca.
Love the zooming in the TV part...reminds me of flies zipping everywhere in the spring.
Very cool video overall.

Old fashioned way. Thanks God!

YES ❤❤❤❤❤
AFI is one of the few bands from the emo era that haven't gone to shit. Consistently golden.

Been wanting this since I heard the song. Thanks for all the hard work that went into making this happen!
They still got it, all these years later
Love it❤️
I hope I can get into the Gate early enough to see you guys start the Show this Sunday at Blossom! Been a lot of delays getting into the Gate lately, Traffic, Parking, Gate inspections!
Idk why, but I could see Bauhaus doing a great cover of this song, especially with Peter Murphy singing.
I absolutely love it.Keep it up guys. These guys are ageless.😽

Looks rather uncanny. The music video is quite similar to what Muse does.
I love it.
