      Lebron is a power forward . Kobe a point guard shooting guard. Lebron is a center on defense getting blocks . Kobe can guard one on one and shoot one on one. Lebron has a better cross step. Kobe has a better cross dribble . Lebron is taller. Kobe was faster. Two different players both equally good but it’s hard to compare apples to oranges .

    Rebounds: Who cares but LeBron
    Assists: LeBron

    • @Whatsyourbench
      @Whatsyourbench 8 лет назад +23

      Alec Caddell so because lebron can guard a center for 1 possession he can guard 1-5? ive seen kobe block yao but he can't guard 5 positions just like lebron can't. don't believe the hype his defense is average at most. kobe has 9x defensive first teams (only mj kg and gp have as much). and i know awards and stats aren't everything so go checkout kobe's lockdown defense vs lebrons defense on any player(s).

      Differnce is Kobes role players Gasol, Bynum, Odom outplayed Magic Role Players Hedo and Lewis

      5.8 ast
      1.4 steals
      1.4 blocks
      those aren't side kick numbers, its just that shaq was putting up some great numbers but honestly, those are also MVP numbers, not to mention, Kobe's averages in the whole were great as well. and not to mention this was just in 2001 which was the lowests averages in the championship run for Kobe. But its easy to say that, thats just the stats watch the actual games and see how kobe was playing great defense as well.

      TheChongmaster LeBron still has not passed Kobe, and it isn't even close. stats are MISLEADING and don't tell the truth. Shaq shoots a higher fg% than Kobe. so stats show that Shaq is a better shooter than Kobe. that's what your f'ing stats show you moron. stats aren't meant to judge a player because stats can never measure defense or hustle. that's why stats are shit.

    • @jameskennerly4412
      @jameskennerly4412 7 лет назад +1

      Jefeth Lopez It depends on how you define skill. We are used to defining skill by equating it to finesse. Which is a complete fallacy. Lebron has skill otherwise he wouldn't have great stats or let alone be offensively competent. Lebron also has finesse he doesnt always uses his power to his advantage. He is a fanastic finisher at the rim not just by dunking but reverse layups, splitting the defense in mid air. Etc. Lebron has always wanted to be the greatest. It is others who take his passive play as a playmaker as not wanting to dominate a game. Because you can very well dominate a game on a TEAM because basketball is a team sport. Without always being the leading scorer. Examples (Steve Nash, John Stockton , Jason Kidd), etcetera

      James Kennerly so you are sitting here basically saying Lebron has more “finesse” , then KOBE BRYANT because of stats .?? Do you know Lebron scores 1 way mainly , he doesn’t have a back to the basket post game , he is has no footwork , or go to move’s & isn’t a triple threat basketball player on offense ( if you know what any of this means )yes he has an uncanny ability to lay the ball up but clearly lacks finesse

    I believe these games show perfectly what each player brings to the table & what they'll go down in history for. Kobe the Assassin hitting difficult creative shots. Lebron the Facilitator with the body to battle in the paint. You can't really have a set opinion about either. They're good at what THEY do.

  • @LifelsGreat
    @LifelsGreat 11 лет назад +1

    He had a good jump shot back in the CLE days, certain aspects had him in the situation of needing to shot and not needing to. LeBron had a confidence/consistency issue that wasn't really noticed. When he took shots he didn't need to, due to wanting to purely score, he had the tendency to miss quite often. Although he had his days where he would just light it up. When he needed to dis his thing, he did. Now he's smarter, stronger, better etc. but people fail to realize he had always been great!

All 4 of those dunks/layups came with the game either decided or in open court situations(wide open dunk after steal), so basically, nothing when the team was actually seriously guarding him."

    You think just because he had 0 assists meant that he got no one involved? Bynum and Gasol each got about 15 attempts, but it was so obvious that they were not playing with passion. It aggravates me that the Lakers have such big tall post players, and they cannot play up to their expectations every game. That is why the Lakers lost.

    That's a valid argument. Kobe had to go through the same thing also. Except he had NOBODY. Kwame Brown and Smush Parker on the Lakers meant playing 3 vs 5 with Kobe, Odom, and Devean George. Put them in the East where only Detroit was good in 05-08. I think the Lakers would be top 3 just as LeBron's Cavs were.

    Nothing says seizing the moment either by passing it to a role player who actually isn't open because he passed too early instead of assessing the situation. Realizing that he could've taken that one extra dribble and another scenario could have occured:
    - that team mate would be actually open now or
    - he tried to attack, forcing the help to react and another team mate is open at the basket.
    We can debate this forever but there is a reason at times why people question his 4th quarter play.

    Wilt recoreded the best PER season. But overall playoffs included, Jordan had superior PER numbers. Jordan is the most efficient overall productive Basketball player ever through the course of a career.

    assist LEAD to points so they do count as points...rebounds can be put backs which are points, or another opportunity to score or less chances for the opposing team to score cuz you need the ball to score.

    Btw to laker fans saying lebron had to hop on Wade to win, remember Kobe rode shaq to 3 rings, won 1 fair in Orlando and shot 37 percent in laker wins in the finals this year and was basically CARRIED this year. How a 40 percent shooter can get finals MVP baffles me especially a 40 percent shooter that avgs as many assists as turnovers in the finals... Pretty much means he was a shot jacker. Clearly carried for 4-5 rings.

    It was a retirement because he wasn't playing basketball for 18 months. He wasn't in basketball shape either.

    People forget about David Robinson's QUADRUPLE DOUBLE 34pts/10rebs/10blcks/10blocks.
    61 pts is just points. But a triple double that has points and helps his team is more impressive. 10 assists means at least 20 pts added to your team's score. 10 rebounds is at least another 20 pts contributed to your team.
    Then dont forget MJ's 69 pts 18 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 rebs, 1 steal. 18 rebounds as a guard, come on. thats jsut ridiculous.

    Lmao I love when people say Kobe side kick himself to three rings like the lakers would have done it with out him Lmaoo dude you sound so illiterate that three would have never if it wasn't for both Kobe and Shaq cuz no Rick fox or deaven George would have filled up Kobe's spot in that smh the thing ppl say these days just cuz

    Vince is 6'5. Lebron is 6'8. Vince is 220. Lebron is 260. 3 inches and 40 pounds adds A LOT. And he has that size with AT LEAST the same athleticism as Carter, along with a wingspan that surpasses 7 feet. If you put that size and athleticism on another skilled player, they'd dominate too. That combination just hasn't been seen before until Lebron. His body is what puts him above and beyond other players, not his skill.

    I didn't say Gary Payton wasn't a great player, I used to love watching him play but he is an annoying basketball analyst. Especially when he and C-Webb were on TNT.

    I don't care who is playing defense, scoring 81 points in one game is unimaginable, some people couldn't score 81 points in a full game playing by themselves

    Lebron
    became the third player in NBA HISTORY to average at least 30.0 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game (Oscar Robertson and Michael Jordan)became just the second player in NBA history to post four consecutive seasons of at least 27 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (Oscar Robertson). Of course Kenny would hate stats. He's no where in the running.

  • @smoothhoopinal
    @smoothhoopinal 15 лет назад

    In the same way that Kenny said STATS are a lie, I can say the same about Kobe. 61, 81, whatever the deal, Kobe had his shot at good, but not great players around him. Remember the days before Gasou and Bynum? He was an individual machine on the court, but he couldn't TRANSFORM a franchise the way James did in Cleveland. Like I said before. Lebron's Cavs are nice now. Add Bynum, Gasou, and the team of bench shooters that Kobe has and it's domination.

    based on your theory, rebounds don't matter because they don't help score, or the fact that kobe was a better defender that year

    Lebron is the only active player in the NBA to have five consecutive seasons with at least 2,000 points and became just the ninth in NBA history, joining legends Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, George Gervin, Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlin, Dominique Wilkins, Oscar Robertson, Alex English and Karl Malone all-time.

  • @Sonido007
    @Sonido007 12 лет назад

    Kobe is a scorer, that stats showed it 61 points, 0 rebs, 3 asts, Lebron is a great all around player and probably the better player to build a team around, he had 52 points, 10 rebs and 11 asts.

  • @Onlyrealmusic4life

    How can you not count assists as points? That means he contributed points to his team's totals. They should have included their shooting % in the debate because that's important too

  • @301SO
    @301SO 12 лет назад

    That's the thing, it was a switch not a three player trap. He has a slower player on him and can either easily blow by or force the foul. But no he doesn't seize the moment and instead defers.
