    Watched the whole thing over a couple of days!
    I was quite interested in the topography of the journey. It gave a good idea of both the scenic vistas and historical towns, but also the mundane aspects of long stretches of highways and modern industrial ugliness that lines the route.
    What potential pilgrims will make of that is up to them. Be it part of the experience/journey, or perhaps thinking it maybe not for them if all they seek are beautiful views. It all gives me food for thought in considering whether to do it or not.
    Thanks for the upload.

      Hey David! Thanks for taking the time to watch the entire video - it’s quite the commitment ;)
      I completely understand what you mean about appreciating the topography of the journey. It's fascinating how the Camino de Santiago showcases such a range of landscapes, from scenic vistas and historical towns to those stretches of highways and industrial areas and urban sprawl.
      You're right that potential pilgrims will have different perspectives on these varied landscapes. Some might see the mundane aspects as part of the authentic experience, while others may prioritize beautiful views. It's all about personal preference and what one seeks from the journey. To me, they’re an essential part of it, and offer a nice contrast. It’s almost like the topography has its own kind of innate rhythm.
      I'm glad to hear that the video has given you some food for thought in considering whether or not to embark on this pilgrimage. It's definitely a decision that requires careful consideration - but once you’re hooked, the thought of it won’t leave you. The Camino de Santiago offers a unique blend of beauty and reality, and experiencing both can be transformative in its own way.
      Ultimately, it's about embracing the ups and downs, the picturesque moments, and the everyday occurrences that you encounter along the way. I hope this video has provided you with valuable insight, and thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts!
      Buen Camino!

      @@storiestellr I am also hearing that at least the Frances section is being a bit over run with pilgrims at the moment who are making up for lost time during the Covid shutdown years. To the point of perhaps leaving it for a year or two to hopefully thin out a bit before embarking on it.

    Hi again Gerrit! I again watched this video. I first saw it about a month and a half ago, and it was the first featuring the camino Francès for me. (It's great by the way when all the smaller videos are all together in one long one because it's a lot easier to follow). So when I watched it for the first time, my jaw dropped, for many reasons: the landscapes, towns, cities, villages, the people, the sounds, and your comments! That's when it clicked for me. The call? Then, after many more hours of watching many other videos and a lot of reading, I watched it again this week-end with a different eye, and learned more stuff again. I first noticed that my DuoLingo courses helped a lot! I can now read the signs your filmed, the menu too, and some conversations in Spanish. And many other things: you guys like very long walks, the climate can be different from year to year, gear, alburgues vs hostels and Airbnbs, and so on. I also noticed you liked going to off-the-book cities, which I plan to do also, one reason being that it should be easier to find albergues. If you go again this year, I hope you'll film it also!

      @storiestellr  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Bruce! great that you watched it again, with a different eye on it… glad you liked it! your perspective really changes once you‘ve watched a few Camino videos (as have I before my first walk). Having a bit of Spanish at your fingertips definitely helps… and then, when you do the Camino yourself, the experience is something else altogether - no video can quite prepare you for it. I‘ve been putting together my 2023 Camino videos in short segments, I‘m not sure I‘ve sent them your way. I‘ll make one long one once I‘m done, too. Nevertheless, I already watched your videos on your Camino Francés 2023, and can't wait to see if your stick is still there! My fault if I said you should film it again if you went again this year. For some reason, this year meant next May! That would be your third Camino. Also, have you ever considered doing one of the Caminos in Portugal, or perhaps the el Norte? And thanks again for sharing your keen eye with the world. Much appreciated.

      @@storiestellr ……thank you. I’m seriously considering it….I’ve walked 8-10km every day as soon as I get up for years….so maybe I’m fit enough?…and if I doubled that over a whole day it may be feasible…..mmm. You’ve inspired me 👍🍷.

    • @storiestellr
      @storiestellr  10 месяцев назад +1

      8-10 km a day? That’s a lot more than most people half your age do on a daily basis. Sounds to me like all you have to do is pack your backpack 😀
      you don’t even need to ‘train’ double the distance. it’ll just happen. just watch your pace, that’s all. depending on where you are, you can also do shorter legs if you feel like it.

    I'm very disappointed. I had to turn off this video after 3 segments. it's a video about other people. it's not your story. there's no reference to God. You don't carry a Bible. You go into churches to get a "good stamp" ... it's not the meaning of a pilgrimage.

    • @storiestellr
      @storiestellr  5 месяцев назад
