I have an original standup machine from the arcade.
I’ve been playing it since it came out. I was born in 66.
Nothing better than playing Defender at a high skill level. I’m not sure I could play as good as I do, had I not learned how to play when I was young.
I can score as many points as I like on factory default settings.

First saw this game in Inwood, New York showcased at a travelling roller-coaster carnival placed outdoors next to the merry-go-round ride with Pac-Man. FUN FACT: Did you know in the Summer of 1981 when this game was still in beta was originally called 'Avenger'? By the time Fall came, the title eventually changed to 'Defender' inside the arcades.

Played like a pro , pity couldn't last to 100k , so close .That's one game i couldn't clock , But i loved it .

Defender was released by Williams. It was much later purchased by Midway.

I noticed that too. The hyperspace is super forgiving. I think it’s a different ROM set. My machine I die 33% of the time I’d guess.
If you adjust when you’re using your smart bombs you’ll score more points very easily. You are on the right track. Well played
Managing the enemy’s is one of the keys to playing 1M point games every time you play.
You shouldn’t ever go into space ever. I accidentally go into space (losing all the humans) maybe one time in 1000 attack waves.
I practice and play 50-100 waves a day.
