Prep is so important…I’ve done home renovations for years and I can’t tell you how many times people would ask me why I just don’t get the painting done. I got really tired of explaining that the actual painting itself is only about 10% of the job…and that it’s the easy part and the fun part. Scraping…cleaning…sanding…filling…over and again…that’s what makes it come out looking beautiful

This is the kind of furniture that SHOULD be painted! Any older laminate furniture is fair game, but this old French Prov style is shaped so nicely and has such romantic potential, a good paint job can save it from desolation and give it many more good years of service. Very well done!

I thoroughly enjoy your videos, and I am so glad you made this tutorial. I have a set of French Provincial furniture that I bought at a yard sale 30 years ago for my spare room: 2 dressers, mirror and nightstand. My spare room is now my sewing room and these pieces were remanded to the basement. They are in excellent shape and I wanted to update and sell them. I thought about painting them a deep grey or black, but wasn't sure if that would be attractive to buyers. Your dresser turned out stunning and inspired me to do the same. I have refinished and painted furniture in the past for my own home and I'm excited to begin this project when spring arrives in the Finger Lakes (New York). I look forward to your future videos.

I put all 3 on market place and they sold as a set within 10 mins. It's time for an update with my bedroom furniture. I'm moving and am trying to flip everything in my home before moving. 😊

Nothing like looking at my sister and I’s dresser we had except we had the mirror on top that we got in 1968. The French provincial set we had it all, the bunkbed and/or trundle, desk, and the dresser with mirror. Ours came from the furniture store in California called Breuners and my sister kept it after she got married and the desk and the dresser are still in her daughter’s room who is long gone and married. So from 1968 to 2022 is 54 years old and still in great shape.

Well, ours in 1968 was bought from a store called Breuners a very high-end store in Sacramento, California. My dad’s business finally was at a point where he could relax and enjoy life a little and we move to the top floor of an apartment complex and All we did was move some personal stuff and clothing. Everything else was brand new. That was for my mom who supported him all those years.

So crazy, I just flipped a desk that looked exactly like this dresser! I wonder if they were out of a set. I wish a could put a picture in of it. My father bought them in 1965 and there are in great condition so I would love to do that and do them in the color you showed............I am so thrilled you showed this tonight. I have been wanting to do something with them but a bit leary but not anymore.........these will be the best look and can in any room in my room for accents. I'm so excited! Thank you so much for sharing this. Have you ever painting a piece and didn’t like how it turned out in the end?
I find myself being super indecisive when it comes to what color paint I’ll use or how I’m going to paint it/the style I’m going for. Sometimes it’s hard for me to envision the final product so I’m scared I’m not going to like it.

I really want to try my hand at flipping furniture and ran across your videos while researching, just trying to learn more about it. I must say, I’m very skeptical I could actually sell the pieces for a profit in my area (upstate SC). I know people who have tried and had to give up bc of the cost and no sales. When I see how much you sell your pieces for my jaw just drops. How do you get them to sell? I wish I could catch one of your live sessions to ask you about this. I’m really discouraged. I don’t want to spend time and money learning this trade only to end up keeping them for myself or giving them away as gifts.
