what was the tire pressure at? what ply did you buy, 6ply? 10ply? did you get the "LT" sizing/rating or the normal "P" sizing/rating? if you're over pressurizing your tires they'll wear in the middle. if you got too low of a ply for towing, yea they're gonna wear prematurely. not sure you're doing all the proper research or maintaining proper tire pressure.

Both trucks have about 55-60 psi in front and 70-80 psi in the rear. Load Range E tires so 10 ply. Tire size I have settled at is LT285/70R17.

I have made the decision to go for the Falken Wildpeak A/T 3W. The BFG KO2 only comes in an E load rating which makes it much heavier resulting in reduced pickup and lower gas mileage.

What PSI were you running in the rears? I believe i need to run 80 psi for hauling.

Usually 60 psi on the front and 80 psi on the rear.

The wild peaks start with 19/32nds and the KO2s start with 15/32nds. So tread depth isn’t really the best wear comparison metric for these two tires.

Thanks for posting this. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for trying to decide for my 250.

Carson… I have an ‘07 Tundra. It came with BF Goodrich highway tread. They only made it 32K miles.
I put Michelin LTX tires on it. All three sets have given me over 40K miles.
They have a slightly more aggressive tread pattern than the BFG’s did. But, they are a far superior handling and stopping tire.
I tow a 16’ landscape trailer with my sub- compact tractor backhoe on it. Probably looking at 2000 miles throughout 40K. The remainder is all highway.
They suit me just fine but… then again, I’m not pulling the loads that you are.
Thanks for the review… I’ve been curious about those Falkens.

I love the Michelin LTX and if I was 100% highway/on road I'd definitely buy a set. But unfortunately their performance on dirt/off road is poor and their life quickly diminishes. I think the Falken Wildpeaks are a pretty good tire; as good as I've seen from any brand for a HD towing tire in an AT tread.

Well, I can tell you that neither one of those tires are really for towing. Off road, and winter snow yes, not towing though.

That’s true. I should have been more specific in that we are searching for the best tires for all terrain towing.

Great vid, that's the age old question, which tires will get me the most bang for the buck. I have the Bridgestone duellers on mine, smooth on the highway, slick in the rain and snow. The older falkens were terrible once they wore down a little. They have stepped their game up! Can't wait for the next video!

Caravana got a really nice, low mile truck.

I know I could have got $15k for the truck in some parts of the country but in our area unfortunately I kept getting low ball offers. Sadly Carvana was the most convenient, quick and possibly the best paying option.
