The spire on merdeka 118 isnt for vanity purposes as it actually houses the observation area and the tower designed based on the first prime minister reaching out his arm to declare "merdeka" i.e independence hence the long spire is to resemble his arm
Yes KL is spread out . They call it a greater KL comprises the area of PJ ,Bukit Damansara , Damansara , Taman Tun , Damansara Perdana Kiara Bangsar , Puchong , Shah Alam , Bangi , Kajang , and to Klang and Kajang , become one big area , spread out nicely . That is why KL has the most number of skyscrapers in South East Asia by large number .
It is not really a rip-off. It just that you are buying umbrella at individual store inside central market. Of course the price going to be high because they are mostly custom made to the store. If you go to convenient store outside the market, you can get generic umbrella for RM10 or less like in KK Mart at 15:20 😆
Yes, the KLCC first phase project including the Petronas Twin Towers, Maxis Tower, Suria KLCC, MOKL, DCC, KLCC Mosque, KLCC park, the road infrastructure including Ramlee Ramp, tunnel going to the basement car park, among others were all completed in early 1998. The first building completed in KLCC was the leased ESSO Tower, before the full completion and the Petronas employees migration to Petronas Twin Tower 1 in 1997. In 1997, KLCC Holdings and KLCC Urusharta were the only tenant occupying two floors in Tower 2. Most of the employees under Kuala Lumpur City Centre Berhad, the company that developed KLCC, have been transferred to the Putrajaya Project Site office in 1997 to start developing Putrajaya. KLCC Holdings has relocated to Dayabumi building about a decade after 1997. Only after more than a decade after 1997, few other projects took place, the Petronas Tower 3, the KLCC Convention and Exhibition Centre, Traders Hotel. The latest KLCC project near the KLCC Mosque seems to take longer than the scheduled completion, that site took quite a big chunk out of the original KLCC park. 😀
Yes, you got the fact right. When I joined KLCC in early 1993, working at the huge site office, at the beginning of the foundation work, I can still see the turf club with its grand stand etc. By the way, the KLCC park was a design by a famous Brazilian artist, the late Roberto Burle Marx. The architect who designed the brilliant Petronas Twin Towers was the late Cesar Pelli, an Argentinian American.
Language wise, i think hindi is not one of the main laguages we have here in Malaysia. Of course u'll have some groups of people who speaks hindi very well. But i could say that the majority of ethnic Indians in Malaysia speak Tamil, rather than hindi. So yeah.. Just a small thing fromme
I always wonder what is the expectations from the first time visitor to Malaysia? Do you expect there is no modern infrastructure/people living in trees?
Welcome to Malaysia bro..hopefully you will enjoy during stay in KL and dont forget try best local foods such nasi lemak..roti canai..mee goreng..laksa..ramly burger..teh tarik and many more..try explore to kampong baru for Malay food..just a few minute walk and cross the SALOMA LINK BRIDGE..
Tall buildings? Because the land in Kuala Lumpur is very, extremely, prohibitively expensive. So everyone wants to grow as tall as possible… Have a nice visit😊

The PNB118 observation area is the highest in the world and beat Burj Khalifa's observation.

lesson learned 😅
Dont need to cross the street to take the train. You can go the station from under the towers mall itself.all are connected.
KLCC park was built in 1998, it's been 26 years. is not so new.

Ooo you’re right. Very similar looking
Central Market is a tourist spot. So prices are pretty steep. Oh well, at least, you have a folded umbrella in yr bagpack.
True haha
Beware of pick pocketing.
But it happens at any crowded places anywhere in other parts of the world.
Enjoy
Thanks!
Central Market = Pasar Seni
U can switch to "english" for better understanding.
