Investigating the 'Mould Effect' - (Ball Chain Fountain)

Inspired by a friendly wager between two of my favourite channels: ‪@SteveMould‬ and ‪@ElectroBOOM‬I decided to take a closer look at the Ball Chain Fountain / 'Mould Effect'.
As mentioned in the video, this is all armchair Physics - the sciences were my best topics at school, but 'best' is a relative term there. Please be considerate in your nitpicking (but I welcome your corrections and your own observations)
