- Two Just Stop Oil protesters in their 80s have smashed the glass around the Magna Carta at the British Library.
Reverend Sue Parfitt, 82, and Judy Bruce, an 85-year-old retired biology teacher, targeted the protective enclosure around the historic document with a hammer and chisel on Friday morning.
Just Stop Oil said the pair then held up a sign reading “The Government is breaking the law” before gluing themselves to the display.
Talk’s Peter Cardwell is joined by Just Stop Oil spokesperson Adrian Johnson to discuss the latest protest.
Peter says: “Where is the evidence to show that your vigilante guerrilla action… actually helps your cause?”
Adrian says: “There was a British survey that followed the actions of Insulate Britain… people’s concern and sympathy and support for what they were asking for increased.”

Are Just Spot Oil causing a war, thus preventing the freedom of movement for British citizens? Bring our military back, we need them here not currently elsewhere.

Bye the way, magna cater gave limited rights to elite nobels and forced the king to obey the law. It gave minimal power to extremly wealthy landowners. The majority of england was subjugated and enslaved by the normans 200 years before.

The interviewer is completely wrong and did not give the interviewee any chance to speak. Most scientist agree that we are in a climate emergency! This is like the sun news paper on youtube! There isnt much time to be doing surveys about how effective just stop oil is. Most are well educated and rational people. Some risking prison to make a clear point . If we continue down are current path in the uk we will have climate extremes and crop failures. Environmental studies university student
