Not to pick your words apart or play word games or semantics, but for the highly naive & gullible people out there who don't know any better, I think it's worth clarifying this VERY important part in responding to your unintentionally misguided comment. There is no "person who did the restoration on this vehicle". A restoration of this magnitude is a project laid out well in advance by a project manager with spec's drawings and a complete team of craftsmen specializing in their certain areas of expertise, whether it be upholstery, electronics, engine and transmission work, to paint work and detailing. In other words, it requires a whole team of professionals to do a restoration of this magnitude. This isn't done by just some "person" who did this entire restoration as your comment makes it sound!
A dollar will fix it, if it's what I think it is. Sounds like crossed torsion rods as springs, had an '84 Tbird with that setup. A dollar worth of plastic hose slit up the side and snapped over one spring will make it almost inaudible. I think there used to be little hard rubber dongles that snapped onto both in the middle and held them apart 1/8" or so as well, but would eventually harden up and break off.
I remember those beautiful mustang pony cars. As a teenager, a guy roared by my house in a 1968 mustang and slid into the driveway of my new neighbor, his sister. It took my breath away as He jumped out of that beautiful golden dream machine. A shivering thrill ran down my spine as I shouted in my head, "OMG... I'm gonna marry that guy!" Four years later we parked our pair of 1970 Boss 302 mustangs in front of the church where we married. Then we jumped into his competition gold Boss burnt out Sideways... rolling smoke into the faces of the jaw dropping crowd, that had just peppered us with rice.
