I'd like to add few things :
1.Using coarse ground coffee results in better taste and It's easier to remove the grounds, any burr grinder will do
    2. fresh ground coffee is essential to making any coffee drinks , that preground thing might be a few months old already oxidized
    3. 24 hours is maximum time it should be in the fridge , 12 if left in room temperature
    4. good water is also important , distiled is not dangerous , demineralised works even cheapest bottled water is better than tab water
    5. Lastly , french press is super cheap and will do a better job separating the grounds
    Hope this helps

I’ve seen research on this. 12 hours is the perfect extraction time for most coffees. The belief that 24+ hours is best is false. The coffee overextracts.

Also, I suggest letting it brew on the countertop for 12-48 hours ( I actually do 16 hours). Then Strain. Lastly, let sit in the fridge for 12 hours. Veeeeerrryyy smooth.

This is the way to do it. I even run it through a v60 filter after the french press to get out all the fines. Increases clarity and lowers bitterness.

That seems like a simple way to make my own cold coffee because when I buy cold coffee it’s almost 6 dollars and you only get probably 4 to 5 maybe less depending on how big your coffee cup is of drinks. And I usually just use cold coffee and I use Snickers coffee mate snickers it’s delicious and that’s all I put in there and add ice. That’s my favorite right there

I work at Starbucks and before I make the kegs for the nitro, I always keep the left over uncut cold brew and it’s truly so much better instead of diluting it with water. But that’s bc I have a super high tolerance in caffeine so dilute it with water if you don’t!

i make this using a stainless steel funnel kinda thing that fits down in my mason jar. just pour grinds directly into that, add water, and refrigerate fo 24-48 hrs. when you lift it out just throw away the grinds, no straining required. a 1 qt jar makes enough concentrate for about one cup per day for almost a week.

FWIW, I once found a jar of cold brew concentrate in the back of my fridge that was at least two or three months old. Out of curiosity, I tried it and found it tasted just as good as the stuff that was two or three days old.

  • @dank5018
    @dank5018 11 месяцев назад +1

People need to make more cold brew at home. I prefer making something closer to concentrate. And use a french press! It makes brewing way easier.
    1. Use a 1:4 ratio of coffee (g):water (g/mL)
    2. Brew using a french press for 24-48 hours
    3. Filter through the french press (I filter it once more through a paper filter for increased clarity and less bitterness)
    4. Dilute with water/ice/milk
