I love this song. Aside the writing/composing/execution/production - it’s just incredible to me that someone’d be able to chant about their awful dark childhood trauma in such a raw and vulnerable yet powerful way. Taylor Momsen is so real for this
This song reminds me of child abuse... As a young female star, it is possible that she either knew somwone who went through it or went through it herself... Let's say that the man is her manager or something similair. He lures her in with sweet things, helps guide and pave her way, but sexualizes her - paints her up like a drag queen. He is not good or good for her but she realizes she has to give her self in order to get what she wants (or believe that she wants). She is so used to it that she tries to make him proud and the decay and twistedness is part of her life now. Hey where you going, I wasn't through, I'm gonna have my way with you, yells the guy as he takes what is "his", the little girl
*Maximiliano* the problem is that by the time you recognize you are caught in the web, there is no escape. You were young when you posted this. How old are you now? And i am not talking about years. Life is crazy how fast, how insidious it advances. We worry about death, but it might be more accurate that we are all casualties of life. But i open a door on the other side: life is what you make of it. It sounds trite but the older you get, the more clearly you see this truth.

when they put "it's", it is actually "its" without an apostrophe. Just saying. "It's" is a contraction of "it" and "is", while "its" shows possession of something.
Hey! No need to be harsh to the Rose. There actually is a term for it when the recording "sounds" like one word, but the sworn statement is actually another. I don't remember the word -i am constantly having to be reminded. This is not the first time i have encountered this in a RUclips conversation. But a great example of this is that song by the Who, "Athena". Every time i heard it on the radio back in the day, i swore that the lyric was "...she's just a girl! She's a whore..." As it turned out, the words were "...she's a bomb!..." Now i still suspect that this was some gimmickry, and that Pete Townsend wanted me to be fooled into thinking that it was "whore" instead of "bomb". ;)
This guy is Ben Phillips, the lead guitarist of The Pretty Reckless. But he's often doing backing vocals (in 'Make Me Wanna Die', where he sings "I'm burning in the light") and in studio (in this song, and he also sings the second verse of 'Cold Blooded').

@@Dood_Spooce Actually... YOU dont care and no one cares that you don't care and that's true unlike what you said. Heavy enough its amazing and the way she sings. Phenomenal
First time hearing it and i must of re-listened to the opening 20 times its that great it really should be extended.
This song is too underrated, but it's wonderful.
