I'm with you on the tankatsu. I visited Japan 20 years ago and the food blew me away. I wasnt vegan then but remember having quite a few vegetarian dishes. This was a great review. Thanks for sharing
@@Islandfist jealous to here that you’re moving to Oahu! And yeah, I think the vegan scene in general has really taken off recently - I became vegan in 2017 and it was very easy, but now it’s unbelievable how many options there are everywhere! I’m glad Oahu is no exception
Don't mention it, I'm certainly a foodie and I want to show that you don't have to miss out on delicious local foods when traveling! That's really cool that you have a vegan familly, props to you all!
I was looking for something like this! I'm vegetarian, but it's hard to find good food at restaurants catered towards those who eat meat. Thank you so much!
That’s awesome that you’re spending a week there - are you stressed because there are so many options, or are you stressed because you don’t think there are?
@@nonamesite oh I see, I think you will be pleasantly surprised! When in doubt, you can also use HappyCow (vegan restaurant app) to find what’s closest nearby 👍
2:40 Do all of the flavours taste like banana or, are they able to mask it? So if I wanted vanilla, (even though it’s made from bananas) it would taste like vanilla?
@@LifeLostSoul awh that’s too bad, I hope they put more effort into their vegan selection in the future - tourism and veganism aren’t going anywhere, that’s forsure!
Awesome Video-thanks for the recommendation!! I took notes....can't wait to try my first Loco Moco at Plant Based Paradise! Thanks for this Vlog!
Thank you, happy to see that it was helpful for you! enjoy your Loco Moco, I really loved it at Plant Based Paradise :)

No problem, glad you were able to find some great vegan options!
I’ll be spending a week in Oahu by myself and I’m already stressing on what to eat there lol
That’s awesome that you’re spending a week there - are you stressed because there are so many options, or are you stressed because you don’t think there are?
I’m just worried that I won’t find some place to eat when I get there but I’m sure everything will be fine when I get there

I am raw vegan. Do they have any raw restaurants?
I believe so, and if they don't have any fully raw restaurants, I believe some of the restaurants may have raw options

I really didn't taste banana strongly at all!
Great video, makes sense to go vegan on the island😂
Right?! I think a study came out that Hawaii is the most vegan friendly state
Honestly it's sad Bearfoot beach cafe used to have so many more vegan options pre-pandemic, but they have scaled back their vegan menu since then

How’d you miss Leahi health in Kaimuki bro?
Sorry, I'm sure I missed out on several good spots - I will have to check it out next time!
